kell - actually my mature, understanding and sensitive approach to this problem is a decoy... 'cos if I have to fly to Florida to straighten this out... it will be reported in the national press as a mass extinction event... lol...lol...

death cube - oh the luxury of choice... lol
woman always say "in the next life I'll come back as a man".... I'd gladly come back a right hander...
Nick - That Summer Song map of key changes has been 'rounded down' to the lowest common denominator... there are a few more changes that are very momentary.. they last only for a single lick within a larger solo... if I was to go down to that level of granularity then I may as well have scored the whole thing out... so I generalised section by section.... however, if you freestyle using that map it'll work fine.... this is the essence behind pitch axis... playing a solo over a chord that is for example Dorian and then throwing in a natural minor lick knowing that it will not clash... this is something that Satch and Vai are very very good at... it's a case of being very aware of your options at any given time.. it's like being an artist and knowing that you have a few extra colours available tucked away in your back pocket.. when you get them out from time to time the whole picture is transformed at a stroke...
ovation - Master Klarkagi get's off plane in Florida... wax on wax off...... zenkutsu dachi...yoi!!!.... kumite!!!.. lol...

Chinese philosiphy - man who walks with limp, runs with a hop...

crushing - note: ^7 = major 7...... so....C#m/A = A ^7, e6/a9no (no 5) = C# add11/E [so it is in 1st inv], g#sus4/+5/a = A ^7,

Dude... I've never seen a more difficult way of saying A major 7 than g#sus4/+5/a..... I want a pint of what you're drinking....
Note: don't get all upset... I'm just poking a little fun....

962 - the Astoria is a great venue... I've seen Satch. Vai and a whole bunch of others there.. it's a got great vibe... I've played there a few times myself....
The back-stage area is like a maze of stairs and corridors.. I've been lost there with 5 minutes to gig time... exactly like Spinal Tap... It was scarey at the time but real funny when I look back it....
Ga6e - I can't record CD's and the pal of mine that MP3'd all of my little shreds now live in Italy... don't worry... I'll see what I can do... I must have a pal somewhere that can record audio onto CD....

GREG M - Yeah i can't get into the chatroom from work for the same reason, don't know what the answer is.

OVATION - Be a while before i can get back in there again, did i see that you are about to but an Ibanez ?

ARTANIS - It's certainly getting harder to keep up with all these posts, for sure.

AUSTIN - Thanks. Don't be too hard on your dorm neighbour man, we all had to start somewhere, find him some different chords to play instead.

JELLYMAN - Yeah, I've seen the Matrix but i'm hopeless with films. I had to watch 20 mins of Final Destination the other night before i realised that i'd seen it and i still couldn't remember the end or the bus scene. When i did see the bus scene i remembered telling everyone at work the next day how great it was. It's all fiction, it ain't music or knowledge so i don't think that i store it!

DRAGONCHILD - lmao, shouldn't you be called Snakechild though ?

MATT KING - Great track, i'd agree best so far, btw lmao at the napster comment ;-)

CRYSTAL PLANET - Yep your a Yorkshireman alright - lol

CLARKY - That sucks hard on the guitar front man, what a bunch of tossers. Apart from that how's the album going ?

VBIL - Welcome back, don't be startin' no trouble now ! lol

Ok people new one for you. I just bought a Little Lanilei Amp. This thing Screams! I can't believe it! Anyone else played one of these, and if so any tips on how to maximize the potential of recording with it?

BTW: I was reading earlier posts and aboout the Buckethead thing... I saw him play with Gn'R Last Fall. That guy can PLAY! I love slash's playing but I would have to agree that for the G3 tour, I think that Buckethead would fit in a lot better. Although I did think that the whole Martial Arts things was a little much. OH well he gave presents to the crowd so that's cool.

Hello joe!i am french so my english is i think quite poor,i hope you will understand me.At the moment you're the guitarist alive who has the most interessant, and developed technic play for me.I have two questions: * my play in tapping is quite dirty ,how can i improove it? *how can i practise the guitar (in general) for a better integration in my play. my favorites albums are ('surfing with the alien','not of this earth').thank you and i wait a new album (not in the line of engine of creation,i'am sorry but i didn't understand this album, the electronic environnement make sing it quite poor). Long life to you!

It's raining today...ugh. I'm supposed to go on a "field trip" at 2:00 and I don't want to be soaking wet (it's an outside thing by the ocean for my marine biology class). Oh well.

RDG - I hope you have a great show tonight... I wish I could go.

AUSTIN - Good point................ dammit busted again ! ;-)

CLARKY - At the time i got the 1044CD, it was the best value for the money the i had available. It's user friendly and gives a good good quality recording but the one thing that i wonder is if you spent more money (i seem to remember looking at a nice Tascam) whether you could dispense with the built effects and the drum machine. I was on a tight budget and i think that if i'd have had a couple a hundred more i would have gone for the Tascam or i think there was a nice Fostex as well. Mind the Boss that you are talking about is a good alternative as well. It depends how much you've got to spend and what level of gear you need. I'm left under the impression that computer software is the way to go now days but that's a different budget entirely. Sorry if that's not much help dude, i only play the damn thing ;-)

mr nick / clarky ---- A minor chord (triad) contains only the root, minor third and the fifth. Playing either natural minor or Dorian over it won't clash since this scale and mode both have these 3 notes.

I was wondering about Clarky's breakdown of Summer Song; there's a section before the solo that has F#m and Am and Clarky, you said that he switches to the minor scale of that key respectively. I never thought of it that way so it's really interesting. I always thought of it as playing over the chord changes and not really straying from the Am tonality. F#m is the VI for Am right??

cheers
