Strings? I use Erine Ball 9-42 super slinky (pink) on all my electrics. I like to have a consistent feel between my guitars so it's a little easier to swap them out. Also, I only have to keep one kind of strings in my spares box, which helps too.

I forgot whoever said they were going to look into that Rush cd (Mr Nick maybe?) - go to www.RushBackstage.com and check it out there. The cd comes with a sticker and a dvd with a few Rush videos on it. Very cool!! It's shipped from Canada also :)

hi joe ~ you have the greatest bunch of fans! I like the idea of a collaborative cd of the T2J music ~ great idea OCP ~ I would buy a copy even if it didn't go to charity ~
the child in FIABD is apparently talking about two people getting ready for a date. I've never gotten the first part "reeju"? then he/she says "...they get ready for each other." (then the adult says, "what about afterwards?") and the child says, "sometimes afterwards they still like each other, and sometimes they don't"
would any of you techies out there care to respond to this post (since you all know joe doesn't have this kind of time!):

Matt yeah I have some DX PLugins, but y'know with a (free) VST-Wrapper you can use VST plugins with Sonar too ;-) I'll see what I have an email you a list.

Thanks Bill.... there will be longer clips and/or full tracks coming in due course. Glad you liked it!

Sinister Footwear.... that's fighting talk where I come from, matey!!! :-p

Hugh: thanks, dude. That's also a favourite of a special friend of mine.... lessons lessons lessons yeah I know! I'm working on it, honest!!!! by the way my available time here is often sporadic... email me if you like - I'm more likely to respond a little quicker ;-)

aww sorry about that Sharon... got a tenner? You could buy one ;-) And there's always a free gift with every purchase!

DCK man I'm blushing today! I got to this level of playing by reading lots, practising *some* and then just letting what I felt come from my fingers. Man that sounds really pretentious, doesn't it? <sigh> Like I said - I can play *my* stuff OK, but ask me to do a cover and I'm like a beginner! *Your* stuff is truly unique though - keep it going!!!

Michelle: I'm still listening to the Hartford bootleg (CD2 this time)... will check out that link you posted though... thanks!

OK another long post another long day another long weekend over.... hope y'all had a good one.... it's beer beer beer bed bed bed for me (some of you will know where that comes from, and yes - I *do* look like him, except for the yellow!!!!!!!!) Later everyone... thanks for cheering me you guys. Dave

Oh dear, not another Monday morning AGAIN! I suppose I should go to bed now. Hmm, what should I listen to? Maybe nothing, since I can't hear much through my left ear, since I'm de-waxing it at the moment. (I'm sure you all reeeeeeeeeally wanted to read that, didn't you!) Night Night, Satchland.

The 300th episode of The Simpsons airs tonight at 8:00. It's actually the 302nd, but Fox doesn't know how to count. Anyway, there's also a rerun at 7:30. That episode is How I Spent My Strummer Vacation, and includes a bunch of musical guest stars. I didn't like the episode that much, but some people here might like it...so this is just FYI.

Hi to everyone (except Silmarien...Yo to Silmarien.)

Something I've always wanted to know:

How do the post codes in UK work? I don't understand them at all.

PhryllyDom: I just listened to your samples, and I must say, I do like the "mellowness" (whatever that word is) of your compositions. I have always been a fan of acoustic+electric mixtures such as Tommy Emmanuel, who seem to be able to fit both together. Well done.

Mick: I reckon the best Canadian band is "Celine Dion and the Bryans"

IUMA is starting to piss me off, I don't know what the deal is. I've tried uploading a new tune for the last 2 hours and it just won't work. Also, [b]Stu Clone[/], your new tune is not on the site anymore. Did you take it down or is this also IUMA's fault?

Edit: RUSH!!! Hands down!

Matt - You said you could try to play a style that wasn't like yours but you wouldn't enjoy it. TRY IT!

Mr Nick - Man, $700. That's like negative 700 IQ.

Yoda: I like thumping bass, but when you're nextdoor (or outside the car that's going past) the mid and high frequencies get blocked by the walls and it's all you can hear. That's when it sounds crap!

Oh yeah, SBM and EOC have finally been released in Australia. Lucky I got imports, there's no way I'd wait this long to get them. The only differences are that the copyright etc says Australia instead of US, and the price is $5-10 less. Disappointed that flavor and traveler weren't translated into our language though...I wonder what those words mean...

Foo Fighters 2nd album was translated. The Colour and the Shape, as opposed to what the US language version was.

Heh heh stirring again.

BEN

Joe and his schedulers-- I'm a fan in the Atlanta area and I'd like to tell you where to play when you come back, which I hope is soon. A new arena has recently opened called Arena at Gwinnett Center. It can accommodate from 3,000-13,000 fans with great acoustics. Bruce Springsteen will be playing there on Feb. 28 for instance. Phone: 770-224-6422. E-mail:www.gwinnettciviccenter.com. I believe it would be quite a bit better than the Tabernacle was.

Bachman is pretty good too gang... can't sing worth a shit but any can any guitarist really? actually he's lost about 100 pounds as well too... I guess you guys have never had the oportunity in listening to Randy Bachman's Jazz style tunes? mind scrambling... and to even attempt to sing when he's doing all those Jazz chords & solos... you've got to hand it to him...

another great Canadian Guitarist is:

Rik Emmett, there's singer with his instrument...

Formerly of Triumph(some bad blood there unfortunately) Rik has a great smooth Jazz Cd that I am the proud owner of an autographed copy (entitled, Handiwork) listen to it if you get the chance...

Peace....Barrie

Thanx for the info and tips on my "static-strat"!! I'll see what I can do about it. Oh, I don't play with socks on a carpet and it doesn't happen to other guitars, just that particular one, so it's not me! Maybe it's because my guitar and I are so serious about each other that sparks fly!!! HA! whatever, I'll find a way to unzap it.
