Mr Nick - I can't really play guitar so, i'd have to exclude myself from the cd. Thanks anyways.

Phydeaux - That's all? T2J averages about 4 pages a day. Seems like you been gone longer.

Death Cube - sorry bro I totally misunderstood you... I thought you was abbreviating harmonic / melodic into harmo-melodic... My mistake....

"harmo-melodic theory" is not a term that I've heard of... don't forget that my music studies were based around orchestral music so some of the jazzers terms and slang is lost on me...

However, I am aware of an improvational method where by all 12 chromatic notes are deamed 'in'... and also that only notes of 'long-ish' duration [start notes, end notes, phrasing notes etc] are to be diatonic to either the key or current chord.. I just didn't realise that it had a name... cool..

Berkeley - dude all my Hendrix is on Vinyl... and I don't have a deck right now... maybe this'll prompt me into getting some JH on CD.... If I do I'll let you know how he does that trick...
Jelly - JBlaze first name is John... A real nice guy.... a real nice player too....
phryg dom - I don't know that AC track... but a great exampe of Vai going off on a pitch axis frenzy is For The Love Of God or Tender Surrender... it's obvious in some places and not in others too...
JSC - dude.... why back out??????????????????????

Crispin: No deadline as of yet, probably mid spring, but too early to tell at this point. Check out my post earlier today for the basic info and if you have any other questions send me an email.

Hey Joe, I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I've been a fan since Surfing With The Alien. I've seen you perform live 5 times here in Toronto and you continue to rip my face off every show. Here is a link to my creations just to show you what you're responsible for. Thanks once again, Mike Leo. "http://mikeleoproject.iuma.com"

JOE - Counting the days until the 23rd! Something in the air just tells me THIS IS THE YEAR! Having a little Grammy party here Sunday, so if they'll let Vai perform last year, perhaps we just might see a little Starry Night?? Just curious, not to mention stating what should ALREADY be the obvious.
BEST OF LUCK MAN FROM RDG and Co.

Hi there Guys!! Glad to finally be a member. My friends in Germany introduced me to Joe's music in the very late 80's early 90. My now boyfriend is an avid Fan. ( a musician and Luthier ) He has been lucky enough to see Joe on several occations, icld. the G3 concert...I however, Just saw Joe live for the first time at the 4th and B, in San Diego. I was astonished!! Like a giddy little kid with a treshire grin on my face the whole time. We had seen him at the NAMM show in Jan. but, the line was crazy...and we ended up going to lunch(the food deprevation headache finally won out- sorry) I was so excited and had such a wonderful time. I even had a couple of pictures of some of the guitars Keith has made and one of the waitresses, Danielle, took them back to Joe! WOW! That made Keiths' night. Then he wished he had written him a note or something...oh well, next time. I hope that Joe liked the pictures, I know he's totally with Ibenez, but, I was just hoping to get some feed back on Keiths work. I'm very Proud of him and all the hard work he puts into his craft. He does all the work by hand and makes everything here at home in the Garage. Anyway, I'll be looking very forward to the next time the band plays in S. Cali. Can hardly wait!! Thanks for this forum... I'll be back often!! Hugs~ Buttercup

Mowlie: ta for the explanation on the post codes, it all just looked like gobbledygook to me!

Clarky: Or I could play "Nobody Likes A Bogan" by Area 7 (or was it 28 Days? An Aussie band anyway).

Anybody: what notes are in the Xmb5 chord?

Furious George: watch your mouth...it's "doing" not "diong"

Jelly Man: I would have thought that the thicker end would go over your shoulder, so that the weight of the guitar is spread out more. Of course if your guitar is light it comes down to aesthetics! And comfort I suppose...

Venti: Haven't heard it for a while, but there's something about "If you don't finish yer #?#?# ye cannae have any pudding" or something. Excuse the ambiguity!

OurDave: in Oz we call both of them chips...can be confusing...normally S&V is purple here. Light blue for plain, dark blue for whatever the company wants it to be. Basically the only standards are s&v purple, plain light blue, chicken dark green, tomato sauce red, barbeque orange. All the rest depend on the maker.

Clarky / Trutina - Why? Cause, i'm lacking any want to play guitar lately. Just really not going well at all. Sick of what comes out and my ability to write songs is hindered. Example - every song on my is a demo except for one classical piece I wrote and my Hordes of Locusts live recording. I think I hate guitar.

OCP - Big thanks for sending the melody clip. I'll learn it when I can play guitar.

Dear Joe, I am a science student at university and don't get much time to practice guitar. I try to play along with your songs, but most of your solos are so fast, (and because i'm not that good), i just give up trying to play them. Do you have any advice for any quick practice techniques that i could try???

Thanks- You are an absolute legend.
