Joe.......you da man !!!!

I finally picked up LISF on DVD, I love the backstage footage Joe. I was happy when you said that for "years", you were trying not to emulate Jimi's playing, but it just kept coming out and you could'nt stop it. I feel the same way about Jimi and I always had people telling me that I was ripping him off by sounding like him. Now I know it's OK...lol.....Thanks for the music.........Peace, Dave

Nick - I checked out the MP3. I thought that it was very good on the most part but you need to work on your timing and articulation. A lot of the bends were really quite out of tune and you came in a bit too early in places with the melody lines. I suggest doing what Clarky has already suggested as well as taking some time out to look at things like timing, bends, and most importantly vibrato - this is the thing that'll really define your tone coz vibrato is like finger prints in that respect (even though there's no such thing as a bad finger print... lol). It can make a bad note sound good and a good note sound even better.

Don't be discouraged though. This is one of Joe's harder pieces to play well because it's so sparse - everything you play is in the foreground so it has to be nailed.

Very promising though!

Hi all,Hi Joe...
I just wanted to make a comment about the Media coverage of the War.Is it just me?..or is it like watching a Paul Verhoven (Robo Cop)movie....Is this B.S. for real or what?.......
War is very serious & not to be taken lightly. It's like watching a football game on CNN....lol...
"Shock & Awe"???What the hell is that?Throw me a frickin' bone here will ya?......I can't believe our kids are watching this crap:(

In all seriousness,My Heart goes out to the Troops fighting for our country.May they return home safely to us & their families.
May your journeys be free of incident:)jblaze1

My fear is from the US invation, if they have helped put Saddam Hussien aka "So dam insain" what they might leave instead of him ??!!, only time will tell. I sure do Pray that this war is short so that the US does leave the region, as it might get hungry for another war with some of the countires there, it'll make something to go in with or without the UN.

It's really Crazy when you know that last night $60 Million worth of Lead was droped over Baghdad and the UN food programme declaring that it cannot find more funding to help the Iraqi after this war!!!!

The World became a MAD place, if we don't fix it who will ? NO not with Arms and Guns and ofcourse not with Flowers for al the hippies out there :) Regards to all , God Bless all the Good people all over the world.

master yoda..thanks for the encouragement. I have broken up the song, so, i'll spend the next week concentrating on getting timing right and the notes. still need to work out exactly where the bends are going and vibrato too. this feedback is encouraging, thanks. also, i have problenms with the recording....i cant record and mix the backing and my track together at the same time, so i play along to the backing and paste/mix the 2 together, so that will go towrds the timing issues, but when i do play, i sometimes get the timing wrong...so..any help with recording would be very much appreciated.

thanks for the feedback :) also..i got an iuma page set up now..just need them to set it up propaly..mid-next week probably.

yeah, final part of taken! it's been........interesting.

the news coverage in the UK has been fairly good (on TV at keast), but I can imagine CNN makes it like a movie, from the few times I've had to watch it.
Can anyone please help?.......Does anybody own, or has anybody played with a Carvin Legacy half stack? I got a new Marshall rig last weekend and It just doesn't do anything for me. There's nothing wrong with it, and it's a good amp, but I just don't like it. It doesn't have what I'm after. I understand the Legacy is of similar stature to things like Cornford and Boogie (I know Boogie is meant to be the best but I can't afford it) and since Steve developed the Legacy, it's bound to be good!

If anyone can give me a educated opinion on the Legacy, or tell me anything I might need to know I'd appreciate it. I know it still comes own to trying it out, and personal preference, but people's thoughts could be useful.

I got my first opportunity to play a JS1000 a couple of weeks ago. AMAZING! It's such a nice guitar to play, so easy and comfortable. thanks Joe, you've given me ideas for the guitar I'm making!

962 - Ive heard from a few people that carvin's Quality control isnt the best..

mjk - didnt they send you like 3 legacy amps that didnt work for various different reasons?

Ive not played their amps, but ive played a few really nice guitars of theirs, and some not so nice ones. If you have the means, try one out.

mowlie 2000 - Joe used this new guitar at the Rockline show. Look through my recent posts...I included a link to a picture of it somewhere. After that, check out Joe's response to my question.

trutina - Happy 300!
guitarcake - I linked to it in a post from a few days ago. It was right before Joe's response.
greg m - It's a new JS 1000.
McDave - So you finally got LISF? Hehehe... Isn't it awesome? =)
jblaze1 - I've always had a dislike for mass media coverage...and what they're covering during this war is no exception.

gotta question, are you with a different label? most of your earlier albums were incredible and it seems you were trying to impress the general public by producing such great music. your current albums arent that great. just curious as if the record companies are forcing you to produce more albums with less intrigue. saw you in concert in denver last year and was really impressed. crystal planet has been your best album recently as far as theory is concerned, but questioning the album before crystal planet. whats the deal? it seems your speed and technicality have decreased in the later albums just wondering if this is preferance or age? do you have any arthritic problems with your fingers after playing so long? another question, what in the heck happened to kirk hammett??! what talent..too bad metallica sold out and is now playing with limp biskit?????? what a waste. what is your opinion of lars? is it me or are these rock stars so submerged in making $ that they forgot what the true meaning of music is? your an inspiriation to me Joe. please write back

Quality control eh? thanks loads! that's a great help.......I shall make a point of checking it out if I get the opportunity to look at the Legacy. I'd hate to mis-spend a grand twicxe in a row!

Thanks again.

I don't know what all this is against Metallica. I think they're doing a good job. they're releasing a couple of new albums this year, and they're not bad musicians at all. Just my opinion tho. I just think they deserve more credit.
Hey Joe, speaking of labels, have you considered trying to get your next release on favored Nations? that would be cool - I'm sure Steve would oblige!

Has a remastered version of 'Flying IABD' been released yet?
