Cool Edit Pro 2 - Does anybody know how to record with this from the line in socket on my pc? I've read the help documents, but I guess I'm too dumb; I can't seem to get it to work! Thanks.

Boyd Get well soon. Try listening to Joe, it may help. Sleeping is fun and also sometimes works.

Do the Stu Happy 800. Why does Joe have two distortion pedals? I can't stand friends either. There's about 2 seconds which is funny in a whole half hour programme, and I have better things to do with my time (Such as playing endless games of solitaire on my computer a week before my electronics coursework's due in.)

Anibur Okay, I admit it, I am in fact a monk and wear a habbit. No, not really, that was just a spelling error.

jsclone1 Didn't Vai say he made that up in a jam at the start of a sound check?

Do the Stu: Happy 800 man!

JS Clone1: No idea what song it is. I think the pic is from Japan in late 99 early 00.

greg m: Yeah, that's what it says in the liner notes. "Written, rehearsed and captured in 11 minutes", it still sounds like Hordes of Locusts to me though.

Giant balls of gold is an excellent song. Burning rain is even better.

PhryDom: The Satch Tribute page is Matt's project, I just contributed a song to it. I think it'll be an ongoing thing, no shut offs or deadlines on that.

Looks like Mr. Vai has a couple new toys to play with. Other than a new Jem7V he also has this and this. I don't know what he's gonna call em, maybe twang and thud lol.

Hey Joe, I have been fortunate enough to see Neil Zaza perform! Simply Incredible. He is from Cleveland and would make a wonderful addition to a future G3 tour. Check out his CD Waiting For The Sun. You will be surprised.

Joe, I remember were on Rockline in about 1994 or 1995 and, you did a version of Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness. It was a sweet version. I used to have it because I always recorded when you were on Rockline. I cant find it anywhere and I was wonderin if you could help me out. My roommate and I are two of your biggest fans. Thanks. Venti: you naughty boy changing your name like that.

G3? I say stuff G3. Just make it G2. Save a lot of organising and disappointment.

Jamcar: Atlantis?!? It's an ego issue...some think we have huge ones so if you keep casual about it they aren't so discriminate.

Greg: although those songs are completely different, I would say The Crying Machine whoops Cryin' 100-3.5

HOW MANY frigging pickups on that new Vai geet?!? Wow, 7 string with 2 extra low frets, that's MY kinda guitar. It's only 3 frets lower than my acoustic but it's mad as!

DCK's votes always count as 5 anyway.

ranaloco: ?!? Is all I can say to that.

Brymstone!!!

Yeah I use Cool Edit Pro 2 as well...

But I don't use the Line In, I actually use the Mic In slot! I find it's at better quality than the Line In can perform... you need to get a couple of earphone adaptors though to make it work... take a regular guitar cable & attach (The Big to Small Earphone) adaptor attachment and place it on the end of your guitar cable then plug into your POD or Effects unit & then plug your guitar in! You might have to shut your "Microphone Booster" through your soundcard options to play at a controlled level! then adjust your effects unit's volume & Mic volume through your soundcard settings too... experimentation is the best way to get a good sound with your PC!

Greg M - I don't know, probably. All the songs from Alive in an Ultra World were written on a whim. It's probably my fave Vai album considering I haven't heard the other excluding all the mp3's I have. It's my fave material from Vai. --- BURNING RAIN KILLS ME! The solo in that song WOW!!!

Brymstone - I wouldn't imagine it's any different from recording with mic which I do. Just set it up in your windows settings the little yellow speaker in the bottom right.

Trutina - Those guitars are awesome. I really would like to hear the Strat. Baritone guitars are awesome and the DNA is even cooler. TWANG and THUD are awesome names man.

ranaloco - So having music released on professional record labels like Sony and Relativity don't copywrite music? Not to mention that you can read copywrite on Joe's cds? Smack your friend.

Hey Joe, I am a new memeber of your fanclub, I love your Live in San Fransisco DVD, it is totally awesome. I just heard of you about a year and a half ago. I used to spend lots of time listenning to Stevie Ray Vaughan, but since then I have widen my horizons. I've had a guitar for about a year now and have learned some much about it that there seems to be no end in the growing technology for guitars.

ranalco: Smack and repeat.

death cube K & JS Clone 1: Thud is a beauty. I'd love to have something like that. I'd also be real interested to mess around with Twang for a bit.

Artanis I: Good point about G2. It would make for a cool show, with longer sets by both. Why hasn't anyone else recommended this?

Matt: Congrats man, that's awesome! #3!!!
