crispin ROFLMAO That thing about Diembag busking is the funniest thing I've heard all week. All month...............hmm...............maybe all month. A new form of music has emerged - "shred busking".

nick Kazaa? That makes me laugh in a grim sort of way as well. Today, downloading something at around lunchtime, the computer said it was downloading at 761 bytes per second. Ithis is a 56k modem, too.

clarky Happy 500. Buy something alcoholic on me (just don't remember I said it was on me (you may be able to do this by getting quite a lot of alcoholic stuff)). Red is an album I've always sort of intended to get, but I've just now bought OSI (£13! What a rip off!) so I doubt I'll be buying any cds for a while.

EDIT - My modem is now downloading from the same site at 455 bytes per second. This must be because I am downloading songs off the radiohead album coming out in June. Everyone must have got word of this.

Joseph Satriani is the first truly great and complete guitarist, paving the way for others such as myself. Satriani is God. Maybe someday you readers will be half as good as him if you get off the computer and piece together some fragments.

Clarky: lol dude....Very good indeed, glad you can get a taste of what the culture is here....And the Orion just tops it all off, lol, as my job makes me stay here!!....lol, without it, I'd still be here.... On the cd....The singing is a little much to bear as I don't understand all the slang, but like you said, you can feel the emotion, the sadness, the calmness....And very simple....I like the story behind the song already, lol, and have fun playing around with it, I'm sure you'll do the Ryukyu's fine justice, and it won't go un-noticed, lol....Gambate!!

AkikoLoveKiss: lol....

r6rocker: lol dude, I sing with my sake to you!! lol ;-)

trutina: lol dude, LMAO!!

michelle: It worked!!....YEAH!!....lol ;-)

Later all, /\/\ike

r6r, crispin, Nick, greg, mick87, - thanx for the congrats....

r6r - on the theory posse - you're right, I'll still be posting in here and I'll be archiving in the COE site. The ability to have them in an easy access site and split to enable further detailed discussion is invaluable [thanx Matt]
Nick - so do you want to complete you song, send it to me and I'll try to sort out your drums...???

So long as you use a metronome and your timing is rock solid I may be able to sort it...

greg - cheers dude... bottoms up... lol...

My fave KC album is Starless... but then KC are not my fave band in the prog world - PFM, Yes, Genesis [pre 76] and Rush are... by far...

ovation - I've read and re-read your letter.... what you say about Talking to Stone is just amazing... When I was touring / gigging etc, I'd often get folks come to me after a gig saying how much they'd enjoyed my playing and how much work I put into it... this is obviously hugely flattering and makes me feal so very proud.... The thing is, a gig is a momentary and fleeting thing... so you can leave a gig thinking you seen something awesome - if you heard a recording of it later would you still be convinced... would it shatter the memory of a perfect evening spent in the company of your heros.....

You have recordings of the demo's for my new album... those are recordings with the luxury of auto punch in/out [so I could tidy up the worts etc...

The video you have is obviously 100% live... me, an RG, a wah and a 2120... no get out of jail free cards there.. it is therefore repeatable... you can watch it over and over - worts and all..... for these reasons, I'm totally stunned that it has had such a profound effect on you... stunned, more than pleasently surprised, deeply flattered and hugely proud.. even more so than a gig....

To touch someone like that, so far away... wow...
such is the power of music...
and like I say ------

Play every note as if it is your last! ! ! ! !

Thanx bro.....
