Hy Joe!!!

My name is Leonardo and I´m very happy that you´ll come to Brasil, I like so much you last album, I´m a guitar player and I see you as a kind of Tutor and an example to be follow, cause you have a great feeling and express yourself very well with your chrome boy. But guess what..? You will perform here in Rio de Janeiro in my birthday!!!!! 04/04, I´m very very happy, and please if you remind me, in the show you could dedicate a song to me!!! I like so much Love Thing, cause its a very beatiful song and cause I know how to play it in the guitar, not so well, but I do my best. Well... that´s all if you don´t remeber me in the show... watch out for the screams in the crow.... you can be sure that the laudest will be mine!!!

Heh Joe,

Your music is inspirational! We can't wait to see you again thisyear. Maybe you can come to Tampa to the theatre again. You were so awesome there the last time. Have fun in South America. Argentina, Brazil, and Chile are such beautiful countries, the people are full of love.

I miss you Joe. You remind me of a little child all inocent and non judgemental, trusting and loving. See you in Florida.

gleed: Okinawa Prefecture, lol, it definately is like living in Paradise, lol....You know, where Namie Amuro comes from.... There is another band out there, I believe it's "The laughing Pussy's" or something....Seems like they just pick English words out of a hat and paste them together, lol....

Oh? Okinawa, never been there before. I was watching this J-drama about okinawa called Churasan. I think the way the actors were dancing in it,was pretty cool!

yea i think i heard of The laughing Pussy's before. Lol your probably rightabout the name picking. I remember a famous group that called themselves Denki Groove.

On the Issue of Melody VS. Jam I'm sure you can't sell a jam like you can sell a melody. On the other hand, I've never been one to play something just because it sells. I play for myself and nobody else, a jam captures a mood that was present and maybe unique at the time it came into being. With that said, the majority of my writing is solid melodies and structure...sometimes my bandmates say I worry TOO much about structure and take too much of a mathematical approach. I guess recording a JAM and making THEM learn it is my way of getting back at them and proving that I can do it either way hehe. Anyway, good luck to y'all...it's bedtime for me!

sharif...playing for yourself is the great moral of playing, we all play for ourselves...that is for sure....but it's very rare to be able to limit yourself to play only what you wanna play/hear and be able to become very successful...

George Duke came out first. He had a good band too. He was killer on the keys! He had a lot of technical difficulties, to which he added "I'm up here trying to grin and bear it, but it's really pissin' me off!" He put on a good show despite some stuff not working. He was supposed to come out at the end and jam with Clarke, but I guess he figured his equipment took a dump, so why bother. As for Stanley Clarke...OMG!!! He eventually played the upright, or maybe I should say he beat the crap out of it. I've never seen anything like it. He was all over that bass. It was awesome! The best part about his band was that Clarke was on bass, and another guy was on back-up bass. LOL! No guitars! Clarkes bass was a higher pitch, and the other bass was that kick-ass rib shakin' bassy bass. The drummer was fantastic too! I can't remember the names of all the guys in both bands, sorry. He also had 2 keyboard players and a young guy on the violin. He said the guy was from Sweden and fresh out of school. FRESH OUT! The kid was incredible! I HIGHLY recommend seeing George Duke and Stanley Clarke to everyone here. I gotta get to bed. Night all :)

Hey everybody! Just got back from an Orlando Philharmonic concert. They were performing Mahler's 1st symphony. I think it was called the Titan...awesome music, mediocre musicianship.

Are any of you guys familiar with Coco Beach's famous RonJon surf shop. I'm going to be recording guitar for some of their up comming commercials. The client wants the commercials to be heavily guitar based. Hopfully I'll get to do some Dick Dale type stuff. Any way, it'll be a good one for the resume

TO ALL INTERESTED - There is a new video uploaded to my video site. It is called "Look what Paul Gilbert did to me". The name should be very appropriate - http://yngvaitriani.tripod.com

Michelle - Ah, that would explain why the song goes minor near the end. That song took a while to grow on me. Even when I saw Joe August '02, I wasn't deeply moved by it. Only recently in '03 did the song do something to me.

OCP - I am in awe when you get jobs like that. How do you get them!? It must have something to do with living in Florida.

Hi Joe,

I've just seen your double dvd 'Live in Sanfrancisco' which my friend bought me for my 30th birthday, I've seen you live twice at the Manchester Apollo (Carling Apollo is it now?) in England, Once on you Flying in a Blue Dream Tour and when you toured with your self Titled Album 'Satriani'. The new album 'Strange and Beautifull music' is fantastic! and has inspired me to start playing again as I havent really played for the last 5 years or so but now realise that music is really makes life worth living! Big thanks and keep on composing some more fabulous tunes for us al to listen to in awe!
