OVATION -Whoa, touching story Mike, it's THE most goddamn awful disease there is without a doubt. I've seen a couple of relatives live with and die from it. I would agree that 'Talking to Stone' is Clarky's show piece, i listened to it, loved it and he told me the story behind it afterwards, that made it even more powerful, it had a lyric for a start when he wrote it but i think that those words belong to him and that's the way it will stay. Great classical influence in the backing track as well, on a happy note............................ somebody sign the man for gods sake ! ;-)

clarky..there is one way of getting the track to you without using snail mail..i can put it up in a yahoo group...or my iuma..but yahoo is probably safer...(from music thieves :P) what do you think?

and to all you Dream Theater fans...the instrumedley..anyone want the backing track for it?? if so, i'll post it on my iuma site...i didn't make it..someone over on the JP board did...

Mr Nick - Austin's fine...or you can call me Serak. ;-)

Telling the writers of The Simpsons about Joe won't do any good. They don't take ideas from outside sources unless they're submitted through an agent, so it would be difficult to do something that's even this small. There have been instances in the past where people have tried to sue the show over ideas used without proper credit. So it's a big mess.

r6rocker - Happy 250! I like the rabbit / woods quote.

DannyK: I like your new stuff, Afterglow has a great chord progression. The only thing that's buggin' me is that there seems be a lot of hiss and noise on the tracks. Well, maybe it's just me.

JSClone1: As far as trying to do something music related as a job, you're going to need to mix and match things. As soon as I'm done with college I'm planning on doing lessons, sessions, composing, and recording/producing of bands. People can make alot of money composing for commercials/movies/radio. If you've got an ear for recording, you can produce others and become a "name" producer and make alot of money, and then you'll have the funds to do whatever you want! Truthfully though, I would start getting into sessions. Sessions will build your name and put you in contact with people who will be willing to do favors for you, such as free studio time. I'm 21 now, and I started doing sessions at 18, and your a much better guitarist now than I was at that age, so you could get plenty of work. The only thing that might limit your ability to be a steady musician as a job, is the stress injury to your hand. Anyway, that's my advice, btw when you get the "Look what Paul G. did to me" up and working let me know, I love seing stuff that rips my ass out! Haha!

OCP - thanks. Afterglow was written after hagging out with Jennifer Batten one night. As for the noise I'll try to clean them up the cd doesn't have the hiss.

DT are recording another album? jeez.....how many is that now? I have 6DOIT and the Met 2000 DVD...........can anybody recommend any DT music I should particularly be looking for next? there's so much of it!

Got Billy Sheehan's 'Compression' and Stu Hamm's 'Outbound' the other day - both are cracking albums. excellent stuff.

hey Joe, any ideas on what your next anniversary model JS will look like? I guess it's gonna be a surprise?! I saw am anniversary Gold RG the other day - horrible, it looks so bad (in my opinion). You could always go with something like pigment-changing paint, whereby it changes colour where it gets hot. hehe, that'd look interesting. I dunno, the funky patterns always look good, and I'm guessing the JS7 will hopefully be thenext release?
What amps do you lot use? I gather quite a few of you use Marshall? I tried a Carvin Legacy on Saturday..........it's amazing. So much better than my Marshall, I took the Marshall back and am hoping to replace it with the Legacy. Aparrently the reliability issues have been ironed out. And it certainly sounds awesome.

hi guys, sorry I've not been around for a while.... life certainly is full of surprises, isn't it? Finally got the last van load of stuff over from the old house to the new one last Friday, then find out on Saturday from the (very emotional, abusive, and angry) owner that the estate agents didn't tell her that we look after people's dogs while they are at work (day care) or on holiday (sleepovers)... so she's royally mad and wants us out of here. The neighbours (get this) have been keeping tabs on how many dogs are coming and going, what time, etc.... so, even if we can show her how good an operation we run here we don't wanna stay with neighbours like these... man I feel like I'm being watched every second of every day!

Bankruptcy is the second best option at the moment (tons of debt and potentially no income and nowhere to live)... the one above it is *another* big move... this time miles away to Essex... but things take time and cost money... I'm leaving it all to Mr Fate... I know he always does the right thing, but it'd sure help if he told me why *at the time* rather than six months later!!!!

Good news from Trutina about the extension - come on gang - let's make a good CD!

r6r this has been vexing me since I wrote it.... when I said "wrong notes" I meant those fusion-esque ones, not bum notes! It sounds like what I always wanted *me* to sound like! Sorry if I threw you off there... like I said... things have been well crazy here!

And I realise there are people who are getting killed, and people who can't eat, and I have a very good friend who is HIV+... who the hell am I to moan about life's ups and downs? I'm relatively lucky, and I'm going to try and remember that every day for the rest of my life.

Sorry for the long (and probably boring) post.... take care everyone... even if I don't reply I still get your emails (well for now anyway!!!)... thanks for being you..... Dave

Whoa! My Jeff Beck "Blow By Blow" cd and Flying In A Blue Dream came in! Still waiting on the Koch one though... As for the Simpsons, we should send a 1000 emails/letters to Matt Groening to at least get him to draw Joe all Simpsonlike.

Danny K - Checked the tunes, cool work man! I liked the rhythm from Afterglow and the melody in Chasing A Dream. Very well done...
