It is quite wierd actually, a few weeks ago we had this talk in General Studies from a guy at Sheffield University Med School, and he was talking about pandemics of flu, etc. He showed us when all those in the past had been, and ended up saying, "Ooh, we are due to have another one........sometime before 2040." A couple of days later, this one broke out.

I see that first custom guitar site was based in Nottingham. Do people know there's also a really good classical guitar place in Nottingham?

Yey, I've just broken up for Easter.

RDG - checked out some of your tunes... very nice stuff... you have a very nice tight and controlled style.. great note selection too...

From the pick I take it you're a lefty... Great looking Strat too..

very cool

Nick - I've replied to your e-mail... no point in going through all the misc details in t2j as it is only really of interest to us...

I've not heard the IUMA version - I'll go there, down load it and play it whenb I'm not connected to the LAN... with any luck there will be less jitter - this prob is really introduce by this crap laptop... being logged in to the LAN makes it worse...

I'm not familiar with fruity loops... maybe just grab a sample and chop off a few beats from the end - so you loop between different points.... that's how I'd do it with make AKAI sampler or Triton...

Everything I loaded into IUMA stayed there...

# : )

quantum - that's exactly the point I'm trying to make... yes practice and practice hard... yes be very focused upon what it is you are trying to learn - a specific technique / theory / idea, but no don't make practice a chore.....

The most important thing about becoming a creative player is writing.... never stop writing songs, riffs and licks... this way you have to think for yourself, the music never gets stale and it stays stimulating...

So mix your practice sessions around between technique / theory and it's application / writing / just freestyling and having fun....

But don't do it at the expense of your social life - that's unhealthy...

Trutina - down the tubes may be a 'cleaner' version of 'down the shitter'.... lol lol - there is your tube... lmao
death cube - the look real nice.... I wonder if he builds 7's.... the BTG-1 is right up my street... I need one.. or an endoresment.. lol....

t2j CD - dipstick here tried a little too hard in the gym two days ago... my pick hand has been in a support bandage since then - if the pain is still serious by Monday I'll head off to A&E for an X-ray - my worst fear is that I may have broken / cracked a bone in my hand.. Right now though I suspect that it is just a nasty bruise deep inside.... what a total idiot... Fingers crossed - I don't think this is really serious.. I'll have to see how it goes..

ovation - 12oz curl.... lol... good if you look like 'Olivsk - ug ug' lol.. I normally barbell curl around 32 to 36kg... a concentration curl on the final set of a pyramid set would be 3 reps and 30kg in each hand... lol... but that's not what did the damage... I've started to introduce more cardio into my gym time... did bits of kata that I could remember and various combination moves in various stances... so I moved onto the bag to do some 'applied Goju Ryu'... lol.. I did surprise myself with some pretty reasonable [good power too] mowushi gerri chudan, mae gerri jodan and chudan kicks - a little more muay thai style than Okinawan though - 'cos that suites a short assed heavy geezer like me.. lol.. The Yoko gerri was ok [lacking a little height and 'snap' - but I'll work on that]. Due to all the weight training I've been doing I've now got strength in my arms, shoulders, back and chest that I've never had before - even more than when I was in my 20's.... and discovered that I've now got a killer enpi jodan [the one that swings into the cheek from the side with the elbow as opposed to the elbow coming up into the sternum] - I reckon that has serious stopping power... the uraken to the temple has big power now too.. that'll upset folks - big ones too - very fast and with more power than my hook... so we have Sensei Clarky with no guitar, the other Sensei Clarky: the crap ninja one.. lol - reliving time spent in the dojo - 18 years ago was the last time I put on a gi.... lol - he sees some of the old form coming back... but is now a fair bit bigger and stronger than he used to be... and is brutally murdering the bag - which has done nothing to offend - and then comes the big oi tsuki, gyaku tsuki, kezame tsuki combination... the bag didn't like it one bit... retaliates by almost breaking my left hand....
sittng on the floor with a cold compress trying to think of what I did wrong it dawns on me - what's missing... no bandages / strapping on my hands and wrists....
It seems as through all this new extra muscle I'm growing is forming inside my skull as well, thereby displacing brain tissue - 'cos it's not as if I've never walked into a dojo, faught in a tournament or murdered a bag before - this complete tit should know better - a whole lot better.... lol
and now it hurts - a whole lot - lol lol

I hope you enjoyed my half-assed attempts at the Jap spellings.... lmao....

Sharif - You guys just learning or already into it? Yeah, watch the arms and hands.

Trutina - Keep up some heavy practicing and start learning a little bit of music theory if you haven't already. I'm curious as to where your ideas will progress.

Wonderful show yesterday at Credicardhall in São Paulo. But Joe, you gotta walk more to the left side of the stage, please. And another thing: YOU HAVE TO SING, it's much more fun... hehehe, enough of calling attention. It was really beautiful and few times in my life I felt so good, though I was constantly smashe in the 1st row. Matt, great bass solo, next time I'll manage to get your pick, remember: "Thanx Matt!" My compliments to Mike and all the staff. Live long Silver Surfer.

Joe, Can you tell us alittle about your thoughts on Steve Vai when you started teaching him back in 1971-1972 ? What did you think of him? Did you know he had this amazing talent like yourself. Was he as dorky as he claims he was? Ok that's all thanks -Jon (Cervantes) Shifflett User00001

PHRYDOM - Sarf..ind ? What the funk are you doing going there ? We went to check out some houses today, i'll tell ya dude, some of these photographers ought to have an artistic licence! Out of 10 possibles i only like one of them now and the viewings aren't until tomorrow. I'm sure it will work itself out in the end, as i'm sure your situation will ;-)

DCK - Yeah nice axes, especially the Extremist (shades of PRS i thought) and the Explorer-ish

OVATION - Hope your cousin stays safe man ;-)

MOWLIE - Sorry dude nothing looks as good as my Jem 77FP ;-)

CLARKY - I can see a distinct lack of Sensei from here -lol It's amazing how you start to lose that flexibility and overall fitness in you thirties ;-) Hope the hand sorts itself out, just don't do it again !

Narface - what song are you refering to? # : )
r6r - yeah lol - kind of the anti Sensei... lol - my flexibility is improving because I'm working on it... my cardio side has never been great... I need to work it a little more... my strength has grow enourmously and quickly too... but that is as much a reflection of my body make up as the way I work out.
My injury was really caused by a loss of concentration resulting in poor technique....
one of those times where you throw the punch, you know it's not 100% right, but once launched it can't be stopped - and with way to much power too... it'll never have a happy ending.. lmao
