Matt K,

Good stuff there bro. I think the drums are a bit overpowering, but great nonetheless! ;) Keep up the good work!

DannyK,

I liked Alien Water Dance. Sounds very experimental which I'm always up for experimental stuff ;). I did an experimental piece with some drum loops once...I can't remember where it is stored. I'll find the URL and come back... :)

It was done in some haste so it was never really something that was preplanned. Composed, mixed and edited in about 6-8 hrs phew! LOL!

BBL with the url.

Ok, here is the URL hehe. Be gentle! Remember I put this together in about 6-8 hrs and it was intended to be experimental.

I was trying to achieve an eerie type of atmosphere with it and was really just fecking around heheh.

You tell me... LOL!

yngwie isnt all about speed. vai plays quicker than yngwie sometimes and so does george lynch. ( saw that in a magazine). a player like francesco fereri is based on speed.

r6r - Thanks for checking it, really, thanks.

Danny K - Thanks for checking it. When I finish the lead guitar, you'll see why it's 8 minutes long. I can't hear the song being without the progressiveness of it. I'll listen to some of your stuff that I haven't listened to yet.

Matt - Thanks for checking it out. Checking FoM.

r6r Aah, 1986, what a year........We moved into our house in 1986, I was only 10 months old.......aahh..........what memories (I have none). Oh well, enough of the nostalgia for now. I seem to have been posting quite frequently as of late. Is it just the holidays, or is the satchaholism setting in?

greg m: The way he played it was really cool. It had 12 string on top, 6 on bottom and I believe the right side was a fretless 6 string, unlike the pink ones, but it's been three and a half years ago so I might be wrong. Anyway, he played chords on the 12, jumped down to the bottom 6 for harmonics and whammy abuse, and had a capo on the fretless for the "dwing" sound on fever dream which he strummed backwards and up from a downstroke on the 12. I don't know if that makes any sense or not, but it's the best I can do.

Clarky: Congrats man, that's awesome news. Also great to hear about the CD's, can't wait to give it a listen.

hard to say..its a long time since i've seen the video...so its eiter a bunch of nonsense or a good descrption..i know he used the vertical one for the "dwing" sound...and the bottom for solos and stuff..but dont know what the guitars are...

Hi everyone. I thought I'd stop by for a few minutes. I started catching up on the posts here, and I'm at 8:00 AM on Sunday. I'd read more but I just don't feel like it now. ;-)

I'm staying with a friend who works at John Suhr's guitar factory here in southern California. I'll hopefully be able to take a "tour" of the place later this week. My friend loves his job...he's talked to guys like Eric Clapton on the phone over the past few weeks. He met Michelle Branch and her band just the other day... Cool stuff...

Sharif - I thought I'd make a quick comment about what you said about this place (T2J) being a big family. I'm on Spring Break now, and on Saturday afternoon I was watching some DVDs (Joe Satriani, Dream Theater, Steve Morse) with a few of my friends. I've met Joe, and I've also met a few people on this site at concerts.

So I was talking about these famous musicians, mentioning them only by their first names. And I started mentioning people on the site here as well...by first name. One of my friends laughed and said it was interesting that I was on a first-name basis with all of these people. He was just kidding...but with the comments that I've read on T2J now, it makes me realize how cool all of this really is.

Mr Nick - I'm not sure if I understood one of your past posts...but if you were asking about what CDs you should buy, get Liquid Tension Experiment I and II.
guitarcake - Happy 200!
ccore88 - You can see pictures of Joe's pedals in the 2/1/03 pictures in the road section of this site.
1atomicpunk - The guitar is still missing.
Artanis I - Thanks for the information about that guitar. And I'm sorry for answering all of the questions that you want to answer...LOL. I'm on Spring Break now, so I won't be checking this board as often as I usually do. Maybe you can jump ahead and steal some questions from me...hehe. ;-)
kunal k - If Joe ships all of his equipment to India for one or two shows, the cost of that would probably be so expensive that it wouldn't be worth the trip (considering what he would be paid for the concerts). It would make sense to do a week of shows in Asia, but not only one or two.

...Austin...

Yeah, the Yngwie debate should be over by now, until next time. For now, let's talk about something less controversial like gun control or abortion.

hey gang... just another meaningless post.... but hey what's new LOL.... Avarice good call re: theory-trousers' memory.... but is there anything positive you can post? :-P maybe you'll get some new fuel for your normal stuff later in this post.....

My song of the day today is Rock Bottom from Strangers In The Night by UFO. So there. A 19 year old guitarist played all that extended solo thing, and I love it.

Speaking of 19 year olds, I finally hooked up my old Tascam four track to my PC (I even bought the desk & soundcard to have four simultaneous INs for it, just never got round to it!!!), so there are now two VERY old (from when I was 19ish) (and badly played, I admit it!) tracks on my site... click me! you know you want to!....

Got some bad news from the owner of the company I work for tonight.... it seems my recent house move (which I knew would be a short stay) is now going to be even shorter... and I have to stop trading immediately! Anyone live near Southend and have a job for me????????

Later all.... take it easy, Dave

artanis - I shall add it to my seemingly endless list of CDs I want to listen to. Seriously, there are sooo many and I have no money.

greg m - fair enough, I just really like it. With that album he seems to be weird but in a musical way rather than in an odd-noise making way. That's the main thing I don't like about P & W. Fire Garden's got some awesome riffs (like in Little Alligator and err, can't remember it's name... the one after When I was a little boy)

Best guitarist - it really depends what you mean. If you're talking all round definitely Satch. But for shred, well Vai is *really* great at picking, tapping and legato so technically I have to go for him. But satch has such intimate understanding of the guitar and scales, and it shows. For example when Vai is on G3 playing blues next to satch.

jelly man..about vai and satch scales...vai usues more exotic scales and modes than satch..thats why his songs sound different and have a different flavour to them...satch tends to use the same modes and scales.
