Hi everyone! Well, after a while improvising and recording stuff directly from my mind, I finally wrote a whole song! I started composing it yesterday at lunch and finished recording it at 3:40 am, so it was a nice day! ;p Anyway, please have a look if you have the time and tell me what you think. You can always have a look at the other ones also... :p But, anyway, I'd really like to know how I went on my first composition... I wrote every note, from backing to lead, before playing it. The song's called "Over the Clouds" and I dedicated it to my girlfriend. Better streamed in mp3. Real audio slightly sucks...

Thanks.

r6r, what kind of wallpaper? lmao!! I'll have to think about that for a while. It certainly wouldn't be full of debris & dust though. LOL!!! As for the moving thing...Had some peeps looking at my house tonight, and again tomorrow morning. I left work early tonight to take a second look at a house, but after thinking it through, it would need a bit to much work. It's a beautiful house, but we'd have to refinish the wood floors, paint, and there's that wallpaper issue again. lmao!! Nah, actually the house needed way more work than we want to put into it for the price they're asking. Since the interest rates are down, the price of houses around here went UP! Ah well, we'll find the right one sooner or later.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor....

Joe, I've got a question for you, you've cancelled your show in my country Singapore. Well, I'm rather disappointed that you're not coming anymore. Well, will you be coming here again later after the SARS outbreak is over? Really look forward to seeing you...

"alexandre caetano" Thanks for the vote of confidence, I never thought my song would get such great feedback, it's not without it's flaws but the tone is great, and there's a definate clear message in the song, at least I think.

I think it's a beautiful song as well... again... thank you for your kind words.

Doing a song together would be cool... of course you have a band, and all I have is me, myself, and I. I'm sure we can work around that tiny little detail. ;) not to mention the distance we live from each other. I'm from Canada, but I'm not sure where you're from?!

anyways... yeah, we should write & record some stuff, email our ideas or make it available to download off of our IUMA pages. The Idea of an Online Band or "E-band" is a real neet idea...

for some that didn't get a chance to listen to my tune for T2J CD here's a link to the song entitled "Finally Made It Home"

PHRYDOM Thanks man ;-) That sucks real hard about your guitar, is it really worth the money you'll get for it compared to the sentimental value ? Have a long hard think man, easier life for a couple of weeks vs. a treasured memory. Sure hope you get a break soon dude, at this rate you'll be moving to Manchester at the same time i move down to P'boro, if i ever get a moving date !

TRUTINA Sneaky quote for the day there (FF) ;-)

MIGUPAIS I checked out your IUMA, your new track is great, especially if you can write all that down before you play a note! Impressive. I snuck a preview of your T2J CD track as well, cool, i love the way that the beat flows in from the train noise and imitates it. I'll check out some more of your site next time i'm up at 05.30am, it's the only time i can get a decent connection. Hope you slept well after your recording - lol

CUBE Dude that is one strange sale! Used and abused by the sound of it but ......there's a dent on the back where you rest your forearm when you're playing............ what!? behind your head maybe -lmao. Also, is it just me but does anyone else leave their ball-ends on the strings to thread through the headstock ? Jeez, buy some wirecutters and get some self respect - lmao ;-)

MICHELLE I'm with you, if your going to buy a house after you've already done one up, buy it with someone else's handiwork. Life's to short for DIY ! Nice UKJ reference too ;-) As for wallpaper, i'm disappointed, if i asked you what type of food, drink, song or guitar you were you'd have answered straight away, i think that you've been neglecting your wallpaper.................. now, go and give it a stroke }:-0

PLUMLOCO Checked out you track man, real nice atmospheric vibe, great tone and i love the 'falling apart' ending ;-)

MATTK lmao man, looks like you're a bigger retard than you thought - lol ;-)

ETHN lmao man, you're one twisted f**k - lol ;-)

Yeah, so 17 pages is a lot to go through...but that's not many considering it was 6 days of posts!

Silmarien: I know what you mean. I have exams soon too. All the hard ones at the start, and the ones I don't need to study much for at the end.

Avarice: the BeeGees would make it a G4, because there's only 2 of them left.

McDave: BG3...good one

this is insane, I'm only up to page 4...

Ovation: I love to listen to Jonathan Mover's live stuff. His studio recordings aren't as good, but he adds a little intensity that Jeff doesn't seem to have. Don't get me wrong, he's pretty good, but the Jon has more "flavour".

I love what Manu Katche did on "Joe Satriani" that was cool. I actually tend to call that "the cool album" referring both to the first track name, and the overall feel of the album. The drums make it so different from the others.

10 pages to go...be back later!!!

CUBE Ah! Good point man, i've not played live for nearly a couple of years and thinking back it used to take 2 songs for me to get changed and tuned if i broke a string - lol When i get moved i'm going to be looking to get in / form a band so i'll keep that as a top tip - looks like i've joined the retard club - how the mighty have fallen eh? ;-)

Jelly Man - I posted a story here a few weeks ago. I had just walked into the office of a club I'm in here at school, and thought I heard someone say "Dream Theater". I stopped for a moment and shrugged, thinking I must've misheard the guy. But I went back to ask him, and, sure enough, he was a huge Dream Theater fan. We started talking about G3 and the DT / Satch tour and other kick-ass music. It was really cool, and VERY unexpected.

JS Clone 1 - PhryDom can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he's talking about emails he received from people basically begging to be on the T2J CD. These are people that don't post here and most likely heard about the CD through another source, and are really only interested in it for self-promotional purposes.
migupais - Cool song...I like it a lot.
gilamonster - It's just another form of filibustering (or is it "filibusting"?). I think they went too far, though... People with "normal" jobs can't go AWOL whenever they please, so I don't think members of the government should be allowed to do what these people did.
symym - I'm sure Joe will make his way to Singapore eventually.
matt king - Don't forget me, either. Oh, wait...Serak The Preparer isn't my real name...nevermind.

Quick, let's all change our user names to our real names to annoy Matt! =)

...Austin...
