I know iv'e been out of the loop for awhile, I got to say the artwork for the t2j project cd's are really cool any one of them would be awsome, I can't wait to buy one and hear it. how exciting it must be for the guys who have a track on there... i'm a little bit jealous....I've heard most the guys from there iuma sites and know there all outstanding players......

JOE, once again Thank you, I went through some real bummer stuff awhile ago and I think the only thing that kept me from losing it completley was listening to you're cds- Over and Over again. ....Thanks Joe...........

greg m i capped some stills from that..... here

awe better be wary of the BOP with posts like that! ROFL!

thebob try the SWTA book

I had lots of things to say earlier but they all disappeared when my PC crashed.... ah well.....

audio quality somebody said it was the most important thing... well Quote Of The Day: You Can't Polish A Turd - George Lynch... a pristine quality recording of a bag of poo means nothing, but a crappy tape recording of something really special is something wonderful (IMHO)

Avarice i'd like to quote yourself... "fuck off".... what exactly are you doing here anyway? You said you'd fooled us once, you'd do it again, but this time you needed someone to pay..... are you still looking? If it's taken this long then why not go to Yahoo Chat or something... there's plenty there. I really don't understand why you're here. Last time it was a big game (and I admit it) a good 'un... but this is scraping the bottom of a non-existent barrel....please come up with something before I (wish to) add you to my ignore list!!!! LOL

I guess I'm guilty of feeding the troll... so sue me! I've got nothing! Literally! It'd cost you more!!!!

Man, I'm sure my earlier post was lighter in heart, but hey - blame it on Bill Gates I guess.. :-/

EDIT: I spelled turd wrong! LOL

what exactly is compression?

Anybody wanna help out with the expleanation of this one? I don't realy know that much about it, apart from it even's out the levels of the notes you play to make it smoother, give more sustain, and it promotes harmonics - Feedback Harmonics come a lot quicker with less hassle, but if you have a good guitar with good pickups and a good amp then you don't usually need that boost.

Sounds like you're using an awful lot of pedals there! Don't over-do it - you'll only end up with something that sounds like soup.

Well, Joe uses DS1's for his overdrive, but don't put too much gain on. Just crank the volume up and the natural, aquious overdrive tone you'll get will be pretty close. What amp are you using? Pickups are pretty important. Obviously Joe's pickups are smooth and cool compared to most significantly tonal players, so you'd best stick to your neck pickup with the tone wound off.

I use the following: Jem 7v; into Marshall Bluesbreaker; into Morley Bad Horsie Wah; into Ibanez Tone Lok Delay (DE7 i think it's called); into Ibanez Tone Lok Smash Box; into a Carvin Legacy Half Stack. It's a good versatile setup and all I can recommend is getting rid of pedals you don't need.

Simple is good, and if you're careful with what you buy you can cover a lot of sounds. I can currently cover anything from Eric Johnson (well almost!) to massively distorted rhythmn tones - Extreme, Metallica, Pantera (God Forbid).

punkdude75 - Thanks for the info. Does it say what show the G3 songs were taken from?

Artanis I - LOL...yeah, it is funnier without the "anagram" part of the quote.
PhryDom - I don't have a day job...LOL. I'm a poor college student.
tantan - Welcome to the site. :-) Don't worry about being Iranian...there are people here from all over the world.
The Prez - I don't think Stu spends any time playing six-string guitars. Joe doesn't spend much time playing bass, either (as far as I know). They are both stringed instruments, but Stu plays the bass in a completely different way than someone would play a six-string guitar. So when comparing Joe and Stu, their instruments are actually quite different. I mentioned on here a while ago that Joe tends to treat the bass guitar like a regular six-string guitar.

I don't know how much time Joe spends practicing these days, but when he was younger he would spend more than 12 hours per day playing guitar. He was a crazy guy. ;-)

Joe's book on guitar techniques is called Guitar Secrets, and is probably available at Amazon.

PhryDom- Thanks for the info! I don't want to sound like Joe, I just want to understand how he gets that tone, because I love it and I'd like to offer my guitar the pleasure of releasing such brilliant vibrations to the atmosphere (c)2003 Miguel Pais (LOL). Now seriously speaking, I just wanted to have an idea of the amounts of this and that so I could get my guitar to sound closer to that smooth and noiseless sound joe gets. I know it also depends on the way you play, but an idea of the effects to use would be very useful.

AND THE UEFA CUP WINNERS ARE:

PORTO!! PORTO!! PORTO!! PORTO!! PORTO!! PORTO!! PORTO!!

(Never thought I'd be saying this...I'm a S.L. BENFICA fan, but we're all portuguese and we're all happy about it!) :)

Perhaps Benfica wins the Champions League next year... We won it once! We can win it twice! :)

Finally got round to recording a Satch tune and it is now up on MY IUMA. Go and check it out and leave me some comments. By the way, I learnt this song entierly (sp???) from memory so I appreciate that there are probably some wrong bits in it but have a listen anyway.

McDave Man, you didn't invent the rat race dude, like you say we all gotta do what we gotta do, it don't mean that we've got to like it but there's no point bitchin' and it's a pity i don't take my own advice sometimes ;-)

DAVE I've felt lighter to man, sometimes it doesn't take a lot to tip the balance, tomorrow's another day ;-)

MOWLIE Man looks like i logged on at the right time ;-) reckon i must be the first to hear that iuma track. Great fucking tone, super clean playing and a joy to listen to, it ain't a turd and it's worth polishing ! keep us up to date as you post more tracks man ;-)

MIGUPAIS Shut the fuck up (joke!) ;-) That last goal was a shambles on Celtic's part, shame after what looked to be a good game from the highlights i saw........ ;-)

mowlie_2000- Great interpretation of Love Thing! How do you get that tone? What are the settings of the delay, reverb, etc.? If you've got time, check out my IUMA and give some advice. Keep it up!

To all of you who have nothing to do at the moment you're reading this, just remember that my IUMA is always open for suggestions. :)

MY PROBLEM OF THE DAY: I just realised I've improved my left hand speed but I have no speed on my right hand (picking hand), so there's no use on having improved my left hand... and my left hand is still too slow... my teacher started giving me solos with fast licks, and I just can't play them... It's so frustrating! AAAAARRRRGGGGGH!! I need practice practice practice, but practice is boring boring boring... but I need it... Are there any alternate picking exercises that aren't too boring?

EDIT - Hey! Just noticed it's my 69th post!!!!! hehe! :)

death cube K: It's great, I just finished playing her a couple of minutes ago and I really like it. It generally takes me a little bit to get used to a guitar but this one just seems to fit me really well. The condition is good too, which kinda surprised me. It showed up this morning at the shop and I had to wait ALL DAMN DAY TO PLAY IT!!! so I'm happy now.

mowlie 2000: Thanks for doing that, it's very cool of you. I'll try to check out you iuma later tonight if I can keep from playing. It's been a few days since I've played so I need to do some catching up.
