thanX so much greg m, I saw ur long post which provides so much good advice for me. I have never learn music before but played guitar for 2 years, I am quite familiar with tab and know very little on standard notation, I think I will spend some time to pick it up. : )

death cube k- i suspected that you might not have seen it, hehe

bite my shiney metal daffodil. i had a dream last night that i was talking to stravinsky and listening to some of his music, then i reminded him that he died in 1971- it didn't seem to worry him. Ah well, a more interesting dream than usual- this is what happens when you listen to rite of spring before goign to bed- even if you do put SBM on just after.

Alexandre thanks man! I have some "peri peri" here :-/ and it's like bbq sauce... tasty but NOT hot at all!

AustiNitsuA that's cool... my new NIC should arrive today so I'll email you my Mum's address... I've got a court date for my eviction case so I guess I'll moving again LOL!!

McDave I definitely have JPGs, and maybe an AVI... I'll email em to you, but please send me a reminder or I'll forget! ;-)

ToneCapone YES! That is EXACTLY what I think some people have done! Perhaps I'll post the latest results later... they're not at all what I expected....

Quito and ToneCapone I think it's a very subtle thing... I believe the nut is staggered slightly so that each string is very slightly different in length to the others, but it makes all the difference to the entire intonation.

Jely Man that's a cool dream! :-)

Righty-ho... time to lower the rope ;-)....

Vote for the T2J CD covers here and re-check your vote if you've already voted!!! Thanks, Dave

jelly man You should read LOTR sometime, the world is divided into those who have and who haven't.

harrydan Good luck. If you're stuck with stuff, try asking on here - there are loads of guys here who are way over my head!

stu clone Your bass is being made from scratch? Man, that bass is going to be so awesome. I may have to move to america, switch from guitar to bass and then kill you just to get it.

mcdave there's a good picture out on the net where John Myung does a running tackle of an unsuspecting James Labrie, with his bass guitar still on. Mike Portnoy is leaning over the drums and laughing at them. That makes a cool desktop - I'll email it you if you ask.

tonecapone Avarice is a guy on here who keeps on posting really insulting messages and lots of farmyard animal noises. Most of us have at sometime suspected that he is actually clarky (another user on here) but clarky denies this.

artanis i Thanks for reminding me about artifice - that was hilarious.

phrydom How do I recheck my cover vote?

I thought I might have to rephrase that LOL.... by recheck I meant "look at the page again (it's changed slightly) and make sure that the cover you voted for is the one you meant to vote for" and sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you etc etc etc ;-)

Some people seem to have clicked "vote" *under* the cover they wanted, rather than *above* it, so I added some extra space to (hopefully!! LOL) make it a little clearer. Make sense?

McDave I have a JPG and an AVI for you ;-)

Argh, I just lit my last tab... better get to t'shop! Laters!

Do The Stu- Yeah, that's a good idea! Thanks! I'll try something based on that one of these days.

PhryDom- lol! "peri peri"! Never heard of it... It's like brand immitations, they want to taste like piri piri but most of the times they end up tasting like crappy bbq sauce... A bit like pepsi... lol! Just kidding, I like pepsi!

Just bought the ANIMATRIX DVD. Damn cool movies! "Final flight of the Osiris" is awesomelly done! It looks so real! And all of the movies are in certain way connected to the story of the MATRIX. The ones written by the brothers even told me pieces of the story I didn't know! Cool! Four movies left to watch. I'll do it when I have the time...

Ga6o - If you're connected to the internet with a modem you probably won't get any video.

quito - Buzz Feiten is a person who designed a slightly different way to tune guitars so they're more "in tune", if that makes any sense. Go to http://www.buzzfeiten.com/ if you want more info.

nightwingjatt...welcome to the site..scales or chords first..hmm...well...without chords you cant use scales amd without scales you cant use chords....but...chords are the basic building blocks of songs...i learnt chords first, but learn both of them and how they co-exist together in music, i think that might the best way...what does everyone else think??

migupais - i love the animatrix too. I downloaded the episodes that are available online the day they came out. The Second Rennaisance is also very good. I don't really get matriculated, I'll have to watch it a few more times.

greg m - the world is also divided into a)those who have played table tennis in the nude and b) those who haven't... I'll read it one day I'm sure, I read the hobbit when was about 8 then tried lord of the rings and it was a bit heavy for me after the first chapter. kinda put me off.

AVARICE: At the risk of dragging myself imto a debate on here with you, one that you would no doubt win due to your never-ending need to run people down with your stupid and lame posts, I have but one thing to say to you. GROW UP!! And I think that I say that on people of almost everyone on this site. Why don't you go and annoy the people on the S Club Seven webpage. they are probably more your age group.

"tonecapone Avarice is a guy on here who keeps on posting really insulting messages and lots of farmyard animal noises. Most of us have at sometime suspected that he is actually clarky (another user on here) but clarky denies this."

Is this true? Clarky? Are you Avarice? If it is true then what a shame. You are a talented player who has dropped down to the lowest of lows with your silly Avarice persona.

Scales or chords? My advice is to learn some tunes first. Find something you like which is quite simple to play. Go to a music shop and they'll have some books called "20 rock pieces for new guitarists" or some such similar names. Find one you like and work through some of them. As much as you need musical knowledge, you also need technical ability.

Hiram Hey, but avarice can even be funny sometimes. I saw some t2j pages from a couple of years ago, before I was on here, and everyone was talking to him then like you are now, but it seems we've all got used to him, and I'm quite fond of the guy (I suppose now I've said that he'll start making diabolical farmyard noises at me again.)
