GREG M - I do BODYBOARDING since 1989 !! In UK you have good waves too, really but the water is very cold :-). Regards dear friend.

Greg Sorry if i'm repeating your lines man, but i actually lifted it from my hotmail in box this afternoon. ;-)
Migupais Great news man - lol............ only in America ;-)
Alexandre There aren't that many good places in the UK for waves, just the west coast either right down in the south or in Scotland. Have you tried kite surfing ? I have a friend who has just started it and loves it, you don't have to rely on the waves so much, just the wind, now that we do have - lol

Hey Joe, i was wondering, in live at san fran, what kind of wah did you use? Also, when you played "Time", during (well i guess you could call it) the second verse, when stu had a little bass fill, you did two tremolo techniques afterwards (right before you did the tremolo picking), i was wondering how you did them?

Now most of the time i take criticism and love it. But to say "you're better than that matt"...not too cool man...

SteamyWizard thanks for the Strunz & Farah info! :-) By the way, I have a similar finger problem. If I place my four fingers on the neck, one finger per fret, I can lift each finger off the neck about 2-3", but my third finger will only lift 3/4" :-/ I've tried the GripMaster, and I *think* it helped. I'm sure my problem was worse before using it. But if you get one take it easy! it's really easy to overdo it on those things and cause more harm than good! Good luck! :-)
greg m you can get the free version of Real Player from real.com. It's hidden somewhere on the page... hang on..... click here and choose Run From Current Location.
Cheers, Dave

oh, one other thing...I think the song "you saved my life" uses similar chords to home and other such songs...hell pete, its the #1 reason you cannot copyright a chord progression...only melody.

Hi Matt. I was going to agree with Pete about his comments on your little tunes, but everytime I open my mouth the Satch site world just falls in on top of me. However, and this is a compliment so please take it as one, your tunes are good but they do repeat themselves a little. But I suppose when you are so influenced by a player such as Joe this would happen. Then again, Pete falls into the same trap himself as all of his tunes are very similar. Even Clarky has the dreaded "one-tune" syndrome, or should that be one shred. The most important thing is that you are doing it. That is all that matters.

hiram, oh i agree with you as well my friend. we all have our idiosyncrisis...like how celestial love song and dreams ceation both resolve to an Fmaj7b5 chord...and hold it there for a brief break. changes have to be made to suit the rest of the CD. however, there is a proper way to address it too i think...those comments would hvae been way more appreciated off the satch boards...to me he is bashing me in public...his motive being, what ever it may be. i sense tention, and have for some time...not sure really why either. all i remember is back in the day talking over icq with pete going over modes and pitch axis...now he is bashing me...in the rudest form.

MATT: I agree, he is being very rude in the way he has posted his comments. I think you have some really good tunes, and there "IS" your own trademark style too. Maybe we are all suffering from the "heard it all before" syndrome. Too much music - too much choice - too many ways in which to hear it all. Clarky, for example, is a demon player. But drop in half-way through any of his tunes and it gets confusing as to which shredfest you are listening too. But then it's just not my cup of tea. Pete has his own style and given the cheap old bit of wood he uses to perform with, then hats off to him. But none of itis very special. As I said, sit there safe in the knowledge that you are, at the very least, doing it!! And well done too.
As for Pete and the tension, perhaps he is just running out of ideas and is lashing out at the first thing he sees? Who knows. Jealous musicians are often worse than jealous girls. Perhaps that is the answer? Australian guitar player PMT?

hiram...your points are well taken and appreciated. honesty is the best policy i totally agree...i wouldn't call pete jealous cause he is a monster of a player, could run circles around me on the guitar. what he doesn't understand is it was never my goal to be a great guitar player...just a song writer to get out my own thoughts...not sure what his deal is. maybe im taking his post too personal, and if I am...than i apologize to pete. but that was just not something i thought was rigth to say...

MATT: Maybe this song is just your own little SBM. You can't get it right everytime can you? "...i was kind of reluctant in releasing it out to be honest for that reason, but heh there is just something about it "...This was your reply to clone satch about the tune. And you are right. There is something about it. It sounds like Satch! Then again, how can Pete say that you sound just like Joe when he sounds just like Frank Gambale. Just not as fast? Or as clever?

hiram...hah pretty much yea. it was just a melody i came accross late one night, i recorded the melody first over a metronome and did the chords along with it after words...i cant bash petes playing again or compare it...he does a great job in that department...

Hey guys why don't we just collectively bash the new Metallica record instead of each other haha! Or I can post one of my really early songs and you guys can bash that. But I agree, we should critique in a way that is helpfull, or keep it iff the T2J board...just like debates, you prohibit personal attacks.

Lestat8187: In that interview, Joe was raving about a Jazz guitar player named Cliff something. Joe was getting asked about Yngwie, and Joe said he couldn't hold a candle to Cliff. Said that Cilff "shredded the shredders"
