crushing day About the JS ep. 4 words for you - Surfing with the Alien
bahumit If you find that, you wouldn't be able to email it to me / post it on the net, would you? Please?
Hee Hee, just think, right now, all the year 9s in my school (apart from 2) are settling down in their campsites after the first day of their bronze DoE expedition. I bet most of them have blisters and hated it. Little do they know how much harder it gets! Hee Hee, this is so funny.

962 The Ernie Ball/Music Man Luke's have EMG's. The humbucker is a model 85 and the single's are both SLV custom's. Speaking of Music Man, the EVH is the best guitar they ever produced. Here is my Top 5 of Guitars: 1. Ibanez JS1 2. Ernie Ball/Music Man Edward Van Halen/Axis 3. Ibanez Jem GMC 4. Ernie Ball/Music Man John Petrucci 5. Ibanez Universe MC

The Reaper: Your 14 right? Yeah I'm 15. Hey if your just starting out get an ACOUSTIC GUITAR!!!! DO NOT START OUT ON ELECTRIC!!! The acoustic builds up strenght in your fingers, in the long run its better for you. So get an acoustic, maybe an Ibanez but it's up to you. And take lessons.

IbanezGuitarist Peavey does produce EVH's sig guitar, which is called the Wolfgang, but before Peavey, he was with with Ernie Ball/Music Man. In my opinion, the Music man's are far superior to the Wolfgang's. The Wolfgang's feel more like a production model, while the Music Man has more of a "custom Shop" feel to them. They sound killer too!

This guy at school's really getting on my nerves. He's played tuba for some years (not sure whether he does anymore). He's one of those people who have the absolute worst taste ever - anything shit from the Monkees onwards, and now he claims to be playing guitar. He's trying to build a wah pedal etc (hmm, tthat does sound like a good idea) and says he's building an electric, but is going to start n a nylong string, "because they're the easiest to play" I tell him that they're not, and he goes "well I've been told they are, so there." LOOK YOU STUPID PERSON, I'M PROBABLY THE MOST EXPERIENCED IN THE WHOLE SCHOOL WHEN IT COMES TO NYLON STRINGS SO WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN? Apart from less left hand finger pain, they are so the hardest guitars to play! Why do loads of people seem to think that the guitar is easier to play than other instruments, something they can take up as a not very serious project, like its inferior to other musical instruments? They are so wrong, and its ther reason why there are such a lot of shit guitarists out there (actually, thats probably the reason people have these thoughts). It is SO ANNOYING and I really don't what to have to endure either this guy playing the shite he likes or else talking about, "oh I play guitar so well now" (yeah, only if you think that guitar is only about chords, not the rest of music!) Grrrrrrrr, I am pissed off.
EDIT - another of his comments, "O why then Greg, do you play guitar?"

megaparsec?????? Now I'm really glad I dropped this year's course LOL
Here's a little story-with-a-moral email I got this evening... sorry it's kinda long..... and I copied and pasted so all spelling errors aren't mine!
The Donkey in the Well
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all of his neighbors to come over and help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down into the well, and was astonished at what he saw.
As every shovel of dirt hit his back, the donkey did something
amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off.
The Moral:
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to
getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
Free your heart from hatred.
Free your mind from worries.
Live simply.
Give more.
Expect less.
OK that's enough of that crap.....
The donkey later came back, caught the farmer out in the field and kicked the crap out of him. Then he went over to each of the farmer's neighbors and kicked the crap out of them too for helping.
The REAL moral:
When you try to cover your ass, it always comes back to get you!
So if Joe's really too busy to give us all a "hi" where and what is he doing? Anyone know? Maybe moving house? Holidaying? Maybe he & Rubina are parents again? He's not touring that we know of, he's not in the studio that we know of, and his last post here was something like the tail end of April.... two months without a post..... maybe he's reinventing his image cos Oakley wouldn't give him any more free shades.... or over in Japan working on the new Ibanez JS7..... or somewhere where there's snow and boarding like a crazy man....
This weekend I'm gonna work on an unplugged version of one of my tracks... cos somebody asked me to! :-O !!!!!!!! Enjoy your weekend everyone, and don't forget to vote!!!!! Have a great Summer Solstice too!
EDIT: So good to see wolfie checking back at the ranch again! Completely and utterly incomprehensible to me, but great to see all the same! :-)

elpp, I never said there was anything wrong with them coming up here and working. They're not illegal, they have work visa's. Its the ones who come over and DON'T work and go on welfare (which I pay for), that I have a problem with. Enough of that....no need to open another can of worms in here...lol.......Peace Bro'

HI ...
I tried the web site "joesatriani.com" ( a mistake, I know ...) and came up with this:
BillLonero.com - The Sonic Temple
- just thought you guys might like to know :-) the music was the shits, too ... :-)
Joe - about your guitar. I have an old ('61) strat that is getting a little 'long on the tooth...." It needs a re-fret (upper register notes tend to die out on bending, etc.) that I was thinking about retiring to a closet and let it appreciate :-)
I have looked at what YOU play (the Ibanez), simply because I like your playing (it's awesome...). Just wanted your thoughts on the guitar itself. I realize that this is a very personal choice - do you have other guitars that you regularly play, and where? Meditative, on-stage, relaxing, musing?
I really like the strat - I've played it regularly, in all those roles. I think sometimes my fingers have 'grown' into it - this probably shouldn't happen to a real guitar player. I mean, I think it's a piece of equipment (or a transcendental vehicle...) that should provide a place to play what's inside ... I think I'm getting off-track ... Just some thoughts on your guitars , if it's not too persoanl a question. Like I say - I really enjoy your playing and I apologize fo the length of this post ...

Fusion5000: you're uninformed man, I'm a Roman Catholic, and the view of the church and pope is that it's no ones right to determine who will go to hell etc etc. The teaching of the church is also that we beleive that even those that don't beleive in God, if they live a good life can get to heaven...we don't say, you're an atheist your going to hell, same goes for the churches stance on all other religions. And i don't go to church and beleive in God (and jesus) because I think I'll go to hell, I go to get a grasp of how to better live my life and treat those around me better. it gives me a perspective on my life, and gives me support in my darkest hours.

Stu Clone - Ya, waiting sucks... but it'll come eventually.
Trutina - White Castles by the case! haha, great stuff... I always thought fast food companies had to keep adding more and more patties to their burgers to make Yngwie happy... A Big Mac isn't necessarily Big to him ;)
Hey Joe!
And a happy 200 posts to me....
Oh ya... I just noticed that the new member of T2J, I believe 3 or 4 posts above me, is named KJM.... Reverse of MJK!
Matt - Is it possible you have a twin? or maybe there is some kind of unknown relationship between you and this KJM... Very freaky stuff... here's some more FREE C.O.E. PUBLICITY for ya too!

greg I left school at 16 and started the working life. As soon as I had some time & the cash I started on an OU degree. I started with maths, then was due to do physics this year (my "master plan" is to understand firstly the blackboard behind Einstein in his famous photo and secondly to *fully* understand exactly how amazing Andrew Wiles is) but because of the weird sh!t going on here right now I dropped out of this year's course. Oh, and I'll be 33 this year. Sad but true ;-)

Lord Of Karma6: Ok thanks for clearing that up. Yeah I like the Music Man better than his Peavy. It looks a lot cooler.
Eruption is one of the most amazing songs by Van Halen. It's not too hard either, I learned it in about 2 days. It's really sad that bands today don't make songs like that (for the excepion of Joe, Steve and Yngwie and a handful of others). All of these new bands have only rythem, not that theres anything wrong with that, but the songs are missing Melody and thats key in any song. I am mostly talking about punk rock, some metal and diffenatly all of the "The" bands out there like The Used and The White Stripes. My Guitar teacher once told me not to put down other bands, not even if they're the worst band ever, so I'll say, I like their ambition. Thats pretty stupid but it took me about 5 minutes to think of that. I mean common wheres are STEVIE RAY VAUGHANS and Eddie Van Halen's? To me Stevie is one of the BEST guitarists who ever walked this earth. He had so much passion whenever he played. And most guitarists don't have that.
Oh yeah... whats the deal with radio stations not playing any Satch or Steve, they have talent when bands like Blink 182 and Green Day which have little to no talent and there all over the waves. I guess it's just popularity and taste. It proves most of the world has no taste in music.
