Today I watched part of the Zeppelin dvd again. Disc 2 - Earls Court (1975) is so incredibly amazing. Everything! The singing, the instruments, the flow and energy of the songs... Mind blowing to say the least. The entire dvd is killer, but when they strip down to acoustics, man o' shit, ya gotta love that! Then when Page starts In My Time Of Dying with that killer riff, it reverberates deep down in your soul and brings back so many years of memories with that tune as the background music. They have to be the best band ever to grace this planet.

So anyways, WHERE THE HELL IS JOE?? lol!

Crispin: Thanks I thought they all hated poor Stu! That's me being deaf years of loud guitar! ;-)

Anyway, I' just read the last coupla days of mails and jeez where's all the joe chat? it's not what I expected at all, but today seems to be very guiatr oriented which is good. Talking of which I notice a post from someone about Flloyd Rose Bridges. I've never had one before but I'm having a guitar made for at the me in New York and it has a shaller Flloyd Rose on it. It's a bit of a departure for me haveing been a Strat man all my life, do any knowledgable people out there have any advice for me about them?

I'm especially concerned about it as I've just embarked on learning Joe's style and although it's an overwhelming undertaking, I hope to get on with it ok...ish! I' just about mastered Midnight...so onto Circles... :-D (yeah right...!)

Our Portuguese Friends Alex and Miguel well done on the interview! If you have it recorded I could put it on the T2J site....?

mick87 I guess it's root inversion, but it was a joke anyhow.... ya can't beat a one-handed chord!!!! btw I think the Beatles chord is a different one - it sounds to me like your A11/E (no third) but it's some kinda G thing

greg I think all this stuff is amazing. Quantum cryptography, Michio Kaku, superstrings, etc. All immensely good stuff. Excellent that Mr (Dr?) Singh has another book coming out! Thanks also for the parsec explanation! ;-)

Simon I have a MPEG of Tony Macalpine playing at GIT. Great stuff. Jason (obviously) isn't making new albums these days, but he's one hell of a fighter with an I-WILL-NOT-LET-IT-DEFEAT-ME attitude. Terribly sad story, but what an amazing person.

Barrie that sounds to me to be unusual rather than the norm. AFAIK only Ned Steinberger has a trem bridge that can *literally* detune all the strings *in tune with each other*. It's the Trans-Trem(TM REG PAT PENDING DASTARDLY & MUTTLEY etc LOL). EVH used it a bit on the 5150 album.

Mr Nick the (new) RedNeck (sorry I couldn't resist!!!!!!) the tapes are copying as I type this. Joe's hair is scary and he's playing the silver-scribbled guitar.

McDave (weren't/aren't you the non-smoker? Still off em?) The first I heard SV talking about Joe was in an interview in Guitar For The Practising Musician. I think it was just after Eat Em And Smile came out. He said something like "if you like my stuff, wait till you hear my (friend/guitar teacher) play. He makes me look like a beginner". The interviewer said something like "that's a hell of a compliment to pay to someone I;ve never heard of. Can you tell us more?" Then I think he went on to say that Joe was playing in The Squares. I've probably got my dates & interviews muddles up a bit though! LOL

The longest day of the year..... anyone doing anything special? Later, Dave

PhryDom, yeah I'm still smoke free, and I think its almost been a year since I quit. Although I did take a drag off one about six months ago when I was a little (lot) drunk. It tasted like SH!T anyways....

That certainly was a nice compliment Steve paid to Joe. It must have been a humbling experience having such an extraordinary teacher showing him the guitar arts....

Hey guys I just saw joe's performance at the 1989 concert for AIDS. Joe looked absolutely hilarious! I see why he shaved his head a couple of years after that. He had a big ol fro! And Joe you know I love you man, but that hair was a fucking trip back in the day.

Hey guys I was wondering if the Ibanez RG320 QS is a good mid range Ibanez electric? Is one worth $275 brand new? Also I've seen a Washburn 587 7 string guitar new for $220. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm looking for a good Humbucking guitar that can get alot of the sounds and flavor Joe creates. Give some feedback on guitars that can really scream. Thanks for your help dudes

alexandrecaetano, visitei o site do Gonçalo Pereira...
