Luke The Duke A Piezo is a pickup that emulates the tone of an acoustic guitar. Rather than doing what a conventional pickup does, it pickups vibrations.

Simon great stuff on the sweep picking - I will study some of it though I'm not much of a sweeper...more of a legato man myself, but it's always nice to have new things to work on. And everybody, Yngwie does have killer vibrato even though I don't like him all that much!

On a sadder note, Bob Hope passed away...Rest in Peace...I only wish I could be as passionate and dedicated to any one thing as he was to many things.

I've been quiet lately...my job gets in the way of everything now...LOL.

Narface - What college are you going to?

greg m - Have fun at the camp thing.
crushingday62 - I don't think Satch ever plays the same solo twice. There are a few bootlegs of him with Deep Purple, as well as a few (but less) with him and Mick Jagger.
jamcar - I was at the LISF gig, as was MegaBoyd.
Ya Yo Gakk - You're reading the "CD Text" that's coded into the disc. It's a thing that certain CD players can recognize. It's a Sony thing, so most Sony discs make use of it.
Bahumit 12 - It'd be cool for VR to open for the Aero / Kiss thing, but I don't think it'll happen. Saliva is already opening the tour, and Aerosmith have asked a new band, The Porch Ghouls, to open for Saliva. The schedule is pretty full, but keep me posted...it'd be cool if VR got to do that gig.

962, you forgot to mention that Gregg Bissonette played with Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan in Dave Lee Roth's band, back in the 80s. And he had a very nice mullet at that time.

I wish all of you people hung up on "YNGWIE hatin" could rise above and just let the guy do his thing! Pick out the positive and let the negative go........... Let's enjoy the art of the guitar players and their individual contributions... We are on this web site because we believe in what Joe is contributing and we feel he is THE BEST! Joe, I wonder if you can be involved in a Make A Wish for a child with medical issues? This 5 year old has been listening to you forever and you have been her guiding force during her times of illness/recovery. She listens to your music during medical procedures / surgeries. Is this a possibility? We live in the PA Philly area. francine@injurednewborn.com

FrancineLitz - Your best bet is probably to either email your request to webmaster@satriani.com or submit it through Joe's manager.

I've been learning the live version of "Going To California" from the "How The West Was Won" CD and I must say there are a lot of differences in the way this tune is played from the original studio recording the BBC live recording and HtWWW recording.

I first learned "Going To California" in open-G but, I always knew something wasn't right. while looking through some Led-Zeppelin TAB books at the music store I noticed a transcritption of "Going To California" in double dropped-D.

As if the tuning and differing versions of live and studio wheren't enough. Just about every TAB on the web is oddly different from the next.

I guess I'll just have to learn them all.

Joe! Now that I am on business overseas for a few years I thought I would miss all your shows from back home in Orlando, Fl. But what do my eyes see in front of me in today's Strait Times newspaper? The chance that Joe Satriani might make it to Singapore for a show?

One word for you Joe.... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Whether it is for SBM or just to jam in concert, come on over!!! That would make me feel right at home - even though home is a 25 hour plane trip.

I am drooling at the thought of catching your show here. Let's turn that "possibly" into a "definitely"!

Take care...
