I have a copy of "Not Of This Earth" on LP with the original artwork (pinky/blue planet scene), brand new (may have played it once). It was signed by Joe in Sydney Australia in 1988. I am interested in selling it and I am currently taking offers. email: atomic@elvis.com

Hey guys I was just wondering if you could answer my question. I have an Ibanez GSA 60 guitar. It has a standard locking tremolo. I want to know if I can replace it with an Ibanez double locking tremolo. Someone please answer, thanks.

LUKE THE DUKE you can but it would be cheaper to get an other guitar.... this kind of job is not recommended for a novice repair man.... buy the time you get the parts and repair(retrofit) it would be cheaper to get a guitar with a double locking trem..... hope this helps

THE MOORE THEATER WAS GREAT! I am soo glad that you cam to seattle because its a 20 min. drive from where I live. I had jsut gotten into you and had been listeneing for a couple months. I grabbed tickets with my dad who took me because it was a way to spend quality time with me and he knew it would make my day and life! He even waited with me after the show for aover two hours so that i could be one of the few people who met you in the back of the building in ur "get away car" to get autographs from the whole band. Jeff is soo nice man hes cool. Im glad you decided to stop and sign those because that gave me hope to get to Berklee since ive been playing for years and have progressed extremely well. THANK YOU. _Marcus 18yrs old.

Hello truebasser.

dck That's gotta be a joke. Everyone knows you can't copyright a chord progression, only a melody.

962 I've seen pictures of Joe playing like you described - longer strap but angled up more. I like something like that, but still keep my strap fairly short. However, many pictures of Joe I've seen, he's got his strap too long anyway. Even with the neck angled up the headstock is still fairly low, so I'm reckoning that's just for looks most of the time.

Question, does James Hetfield play with a shorter strap in the studio than in all the pictures of him? Did Jimmy page? Or did they just avoid the issue and sit down when recording in the studio?

DCK ROFLMAO man, the tirade goes on ! btw I'd be interested ifn you were doing an EP ;-)

GREG I don't know about page but Hetfield and Hammet recorded most of the black album sat down, if you watch a year and a half in the life of..............

SOTD - Sabra Cadabra - Black Sabbath (great riffs from times gone by)

I haven't seen that, but I've seen some "classic albums - the black album" programme, and saw them recording Enter Sandman sat down. Hammet doesn't have his guitar as low as Hetfield, anyway. It usually looks just about high enough for comfort if you like a really steep neck angle, whereas James' guitar is just stupidly low.

poll Do you like playing your guitar sat down or stood up for more of the time?

sitting 0 - 1 standing

Interesting titbit, I think that Jonny Greenwood'd guitar has been creeping upwards very slowly over the past few years.

Although, I'm after getting a high 'bar type' chair with a back, but no arms and a foot rest. I like playing sat down, especially if working on something but i can't get as comfortable and have the freedom of movement that you get when standing.

i have my guitar at about satch/vai height....

poll for guitar position hmm....sitting when practising and standing when playing songs or along with songs..so both.

anyone else in the UK see the thunderstorms last night?? they were cool...2 went over head of us..lightning everywhere..i swear the sky went purple when the lightning happened. above the clouds, in the clouds, from cloud to cloud, sheet, forked..pretty cool...

and i'm writing a song that is sort of based around thunderstorms...its coming along nicely..hope to start recording the rythmn guitars bit by bit..starting today...the first bit..then the next bit..then the next bit..and so on and so on...and then the 2nd rythmn guitars in some places...then the rest of the stuff.

and the metalica 2 chord thing...its fake..but very funny..lol

Why does Robert Fripp always sit down, or always stand up, or what?

nick Vai seems to have his guitar at quite a range of hights, doesn't he? I mean, look at the different hights he has it at in the pictures from AIAUW. One quite funny thing, for the pictures of Fire Strings, he has it lower in all the performance photos than he does in all the practice photos.
