hahaha. I can't believe you guys! Gregg Bissonette is the older (drumming) brother of Matt, who is a bassist. They have both worked many times in the past with both Joe and Steve Vai.

They worked with Steve on the Fire Garden record and he did a guest piece on both of Gregg's records. the newer record, Submarine, is available off Steve Vai's record label, Favored Nations Entertainment.

The brothers Bissonette worked with Joe on a large proportion of the Extremist record, and did other single items like 'Look My Way' on the Joe Satriani title record ('Red Album'). Joe also did a piece - 'Lum Lum' - on the Bissonette's new record. Last year, for the entirity of the Strange Beautiful Music record and tour, Stu Hamm was replaced on bass by Matt.

That was 2002.

The LISF DVD was recorded in, what, 2000? Nobody's booing Stu Hamm, the bassist, although it does sound like it.

Most likely somebody already said all this but I skipped reading today's posts to write this!

I recommend you go check out Gregg Bissonette's two albums. He has other great guests on there, like Scott Henderson, Andy Summers, Ty Tabor, Paul Gilbert and loads more.

Dag Nabbit, now my hands are tired
thanks Simon Manzer for the sweeping lesson! I copied the page and will study it lots! For your info, 'Tendanitis' is with an 'o' - 'Tendon'. hehe. great lesson, thanks
Clarky, that's gonna confuse the american's on this board - 'fanny' in the US means ass. If you told your wife she had an ass like a bucket, you'd be lyng for sure! hehehe
On the G3 DVD, when they all get together at the end, why does Billy Sheehan bow to Joe when he comes on stage? HEHEHE. in case you're wondering, YES, I AM KIDDING

Hello Joe Satriani, I īve got no answer from anyone again, I still hoping that you will help me and conceed me this life time oportunity. Please just give me a chance that would be the most important think for me in my dreams. If someone who reads my messages and got some contact with Joe Satriani just help me and tell him just to listen one of my messages, and see how important this is for a simple person like me. You are a very nice and gently person, this is the idea that I have from you. Try to understand my situation and answer me telling that you just give me at least a couple of lessons, and I will go to San Francisco in the day after. Just say something to a person who just want to make is dream come true

I am sad...

I have not seen by guitar, have not felt its silky strings respond to my fingers to create sound, have not had the feeling of getting a lick down and it sounding right- I have done none of these for nearly seven weeks now.

I never realized just how relaxing and comforting it is to pick up my guitar- sure, I suck at playing the thing when you get right down to it, but still I enjoy it.

To my cheap little Strat copy: don't worry, you'll be in my arms again in only a few short days, fret not...

YaYo Gakk: my friend's car stereo was imported from Germany and my Engines of Creation CD from the USA brought up the names of the tracks etc just like your LISF did. Maybe your other CDs aren't US imports? That could be why they don't do the same.

Crushing Day: why should you be worried about a typo? No-one would notice the difference...!!!

It's serious hungry time right here...missed breakfast again. And turned up 9:05am again. I couldn't turn up on time if I was sitting on a clock rotating skywards. (Little joke there.)

Send us some news, Joe! What's going on with this G3 tour?

Tapper5 I haven't really had much time to look at the site, but I have read some things in it. See I have been working outside putting drainage pipes in the ground. Next week I should have plenty of time to read and learn it. How many years have you been playing? I went to this place called riff-o-matic.com and they show you tabs of variouse artists includeing Joe Satriani I believe. But you have to pay I think. So I just signed up for there mailing list and I got not to long ago a tab for "The Wind Cries Mary" by Jimmy Hendrix. You can here the music play, and they show you the chords to use with the notes. Something The Bob might be interested in. See you later dude.

Luke The Duke A Piezo is a pickup that emulates the tone of an acoustic guitar. Rather than doing what a conventional pickup does, it pickups vibrations.

Simon great stuff on the sweep picking - I will study some of it though I'm not much of a sweeper...more of a legato man myself, but it's always nice to have new things to work on. And everybody, Yngwie does have killer vibrato even though I don't like him all that much!

On a sadder note, Bob Hope passed away...Rest in Peace...I only wish I could be as passionate and dedicated to any one thing as he was to many things.

I've been quiet lately...my job gets in the way of everything now...LOL.

Narface - What college are you going to?

greg m - Have fun at the camp thing.
crushingday62 - I don't think Satch ever plays the same solo twice. There are a few bootlegs of him with Deep Purple, as well as a few (but less) with him and Mick Jagger.
jamcar - I was at the LISF gig, as was MegaBoyd.
Ya Yo Gakk - You're reading the "CD Text" that's coded into the disc. It's a thing that certain CD players can recognize. It's a Sony thing, so most Sony discs make use of it.
Bahumit 12 - It'd be cool for VR to open for the Aero / Kiss thing, but I don't think it'll happen. Saliva is already opening the tour, and Aerosmith have asked a new band, The Porch Ghouls, to open for Saliva. The schedule is pretty full, but keep me posted...it'd be cool if VR got to do that gig.

962, you forgot to mention that Gregg Bissonette played with Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan in Dave Lee Roth's band, back in the 80s. And he had a very nice mullet at that time.
