Is G3 going to come to the UK or are you going to miss us out AGAIN? I've seen both you and Steve play live over here but missed the last G3 that came to the UK. Seeing you all playing together would be something else. Me and a number of mates have got fingers (and everything else) crossed that you'll extend the tour to the UK. Go on, you know you want to!

Young Richard Haier. Time was recorded in 1988, and that version has a really cool guitar intro [the clean part played in the heavy prhygian part repeated 4 times] with some sort of steven hawking babble in the background. I dont know why this intro was not kept for the CP release. Joe can you extend your long arm of knowledge and type the answer for us unenlightened?

And Joe, while you're there check out my audition demos for your rhythm guitarist spot, please. Remember your hat is on the line here.

that is all.

Dear Joe,

To my opinion is Silent Night/ Holy Night Jam definitely an 'essential' and should be on the album. The problem is I cannot choose it in the list.......snif.

Without this song the album would't be complete.....blablabla

trutina, LMAO......sorry man, but I was laughing my ass off when I read that post. I'm going to send you a football helmet for when you go out drinking...lol

How the heck could they list Kurt Cobain at #12? I mean, aside from the fact that he should be excluded for being a dumb-ass because he shot himself. "I can't handle being a millionaire, I think I'll kill myself".........DUMB---------ASS !!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone...be safe.

r6rocker, yeah I suppose you're right. I did'nt mean to knock the guy, he really was "messed up". My younger brother worshiped the guy and he was devastated when he died. It was such a letdown for him, he was very disappointed.

Joe, Just wanted to let You know how happy I was when I was able to meet You at last years concert at 4th & B in Sunny San Diego. I was the first fan to see You arrive backstage. I had You sign my Jean Jacket. and I also had You sign RayDiGiorgio's Bone guitar. I am sure You remeber hanging out with Him after the show in the Limo. He enjoyed so much meeting You and just being real. He showed us all the pictures. His guitar is hanging up in his studio. never to be played again. Just to give You heads up. Ray is nominated for Guitarist of The Year, and Album of The Year for this years L.A. Music Awards. As You know You are his #1 Inspiration. If You get a chance and are in L.A. I am sure He would love to have You there to share in this special moment of his life. I am looking forward to seeing You 10/11/03 at Humphrey's. Hoping I get a shot at an after show meet and greet with You. It was his special day at 4th @ B. So we all left and let Him enjoy his dream. Have a Good one. Keep Inspiring us all.

I found an interesting article from Stu back in '91....Talking about Jonathan Mover....

"HAMM on MOVER By Phil Hood
When Joe Satriani needed to put a band together for a music industry trade show in '87 he ended up calling Stu Hamm and Jonathan Mover, two players who never had met one another. Joe sent them both tapes to rehearse by, but Mover and Hamm never actually laid eyes on one another until about five minutes before they went on stage with Joe for the first time.
The pairing clicked. "I thought Jonathan was great, very energetic," Stu recalls. "He's a very strong player from a bass player's perspective, because he is a take-no-prisoners kind of drummer. He sounds great on the Kings Of Sleep [by Stu Hamm on Relativity] album. He played to a click track and scratch bass parts. His playing with a click track is spot-on, one of the best I've ever heard."
Joe's no-group-rehearsal approach continued throughout the band's four-year run. Stu says, "The funny thing is we never really rehearsed with Joe. He would send us tapes with all the parts. We rehearsed maybe three days in the whole time we were together. Joe is a perfectionist and usually has things the way he wants it, although Joe and Jonathan would work together on constructing live drum parts for the show."
Some of those parts got pretty wild, for Jonathan Mover is not one to lay back during a gig. He would work the entire kit, and also kick out samples-rhythm guitar parts. Hamm says, "Sometimes, trying to figure out what he was doing was the toughest thing with Jonathan. He knows rhythms inside and out. He is really into a Zappa thing. If I wasn't paying attention at a sound check he might start playing strange rhythms and try to goof me up, and he could usually do it. During the show, there were just those times where I couldn't really hear what he was doing to divide the beat. When that happened I'd have to trust my internal clock and go for it."
Though the trio has broken up, Hamm's own career is doing well, and he is looking forward to hooking up with Mover in a collaborations that is not dominated by Satriani's perfectionist arrangements. "Playing with Joe is a little like sleeping with someone but not having sex with them," Stu says. "He was going to use another rhythm section on his next album anyway, so it was really time for all of us to move on. But Jonathan is going to be on my next album. Absolutely. I mean, we're the rhythm section from hell."

Oops, sorry to take up the page, but why not, lol.... BTW, here's a pic of The Rhythm Section From Hell....

I was actually hoping for a new Satch cd with new material instead of a greatest hits package. Hey maybe do both? That would be a great idea Joe! I can't wait for G3 to fly into Florida! See ya then!

Dear and awesome joe... Mr.satriani, will it be too much to ask if you could add one show to your g3 tour?? We here in southwest lower Michigan, need some of your time. I, like so many around my area,. love your music, I think that we should not be excluded from such an awesome display of guitar wizardry, as with the three of you together. If you can please visit Kalamazoo again during the G-3 tour, it would be great !! You know where the state therater is, you've been here before, just not on a G-3. c'mon... what do you say Joe??... Do it for your fans here... We know how to rock too... c'ya soon Joe,,,( hopefully) radpro16...

962: thanks for the tips. There is only a faint hum, soft hissing sounds. The wirings are new, so I don't think they are loose. I'll probably ground the aluminiun foil on the back of the pickguard as well. Will that work? And if I put a capcitor between the + & - of the jack, how many farads/ micro farads should my capacitor be?
JS Clone1: They're humbuckers. It's definetly something to do with the ground wires.

Considering the quality of the rest of their list, I was surprised that Robert Fripp and Jeff Beck got as high as they did.

fusion What was that, Simon? You now play the recorder as well as the guitar?

ovation I may just have to get that cd if Stu and Jonathan are playing together.

the cheese I live in Broomhill.
