I think Crystal Planet is essential joe in itself. It's my favorite cd of his. on 96.3 a classic rock station in vegas, they keep talking about g3 and every time i hear it i light up. they also said that satch, vai, and malmsteen did not make the top 100 guitarists in rolling stone. that is just messed up. later. Joe you're awesome.

Joe...just thought you'd like to know that we used "You Saved My Life" and "Always With You, Always With Me" in our June 21st, 2003 wedding. Introduced a lot of people to music that they normally don't hear at weddings. May God continue to bless you and grow your gift....Thanks Matt & Dana.

Clarky: Man, thank's for clearing that up, lol, you had me worried!!....That AWG16 you got there is really nice, and when you can have 3 or 4 orchestra's to fool around with, lol....I looked at one of those the other day in the store....I play around before I read the direction's, and I'm sure I'd grab em quick for that monster....BTW, I hope your toes grow back, as you need em for the pedals, lol....Have fun with it man, and have you any ideas of a cover for the album yet?? I realize that's down the road a little, but I can imagine "Shredz at an Exhibition" should have an interesting cover!!..

greg m: lol, it has a reverse headstock which I am quite used to now, and it's easier to reach up and tune, lol....And the Tone Zones kick major ass!!...."THE Heavy Metal pickup"!!

Edit......Plum Loco: That's kuul man!!....I wish I had the soundsystem in my car to play EOC like that!!!!....I can only imagine it must KICK!!

OCPS470,

Deadline is October 1st. I think I sent you an email (fwd from Eric Bolvin), so keep an eye out for it. It doesn't have a whole lot of details, mostly just an intro letter for people that are familiar with it.

I'll try and have my own parts recorded, but I'm still having troubles here. Shouldn't be a problem once I get some more stuff sorted out.

edit: chris, i just got a reply from a local guy that runs a studio... I may be able to just get in there real quick if this in dorm thing becomes a problem.

ANYBODY!!! HELP!!! I need a free multitracker!!! I was using some... ummmm... completely legal non-pirated stuff... ummmm... but it doesn't work on this computer.

I'm sure most of you are aware of the whole 10 commandments thing that is happening in Montgomery right now. Well if you've been watching any news you should know. That's just about 2 minutes from here. I may go down there tomorrow to witness the crazyness. It has almost everybody in the State pissed off. I guess the next step is trying to take IN GOD WE TRUST of the dollar bill, then change the whole history of this country so that God is not mentioned at all. Its a shame what this country is coming to. I mean who in here would not raise their kids with these basic foundations anyway. Is God that bad? I hope our country as a whole is against removing God from everything, or anything. I would not move to Saudi Arabia, become a citizen, then ask them to remove their Koran from their courthouse, holyplace, or anything. Their country was founded on Muslim beliefs the same as ours was founded on belief and faith in God. If we take God out of everything We as a nation will become nothing. There is alot more I could say but I think you guys understand how I feel about it. It's weird how important issues always start in Montgomery.

Joe- What type of microphones and microphone preamps do you use in the studio when recording guitar?

Do you do any distance micing a la Jimmy Page?

intergalatic- you are talking about an accident right?

Supaadave- "Clouds Race Aross The Sky" is a great song, my favorite from EOC.

I also agree with Matt King about "Banana Mango 2"

A personal favorite song of Joe's that I like is "Why"

I asked this question once already with no reply so I'll ask again, has anyone here joined Guitaralliance.com online guitar lessons?

When I was putting together my list of songs for the Essential JS Album I thought of only one thing:

What songs would I play for someone who had never heard of Joe Satriani? Then I remembered I made an MD recording of Satch tunes for a friend of mine so I used that.

Well, here's my list.

1) Rubina (Live in SF): a classic Satch tune, especially since he opens it with the beggining of Turkey Man

2) Hordes of Locust (Dreaming #11 Live Version): A rocking live version

3) Always With Me, Always With You (Live in SF)- Another classic Satch tune.

4)Surfing With The Alien: Nuff said!

5) Crushing Day: A testament to his finger speed.

6) Satch Boogie- If this doesn't make you want to rock......

7) Flying In A Blue Dream (Live in SF): Nuff said!

8) The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing: A Jamming Tune.

9) I Believe: Joe's view of hope, an inspiring tune.

10) The Extremist: Exactly what this tune says.

11) Cryin' (Time Machine Live Version): A very emotional tune.

12) Why: One of my favorite tunes.

13) Time Machine: This would make a kick ass openig song in a concert set.

14) Banana Mango 2: A song that shows off Joe's creativity with the guitar and the sounds it can emmit.

15) Cool #9: I love the blues and this stage in Joe's career is a must.

16) Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness: A Grammy Nominated song and a great tune.

17) Crystal Planet: As Joe switched gears in his music you got this. Fantastic.

18) Love Thing: The one song I want to learn how to play and another emotional tune.

19) Devil's Slide: I blast this song cause it kicks ass!!!!!

20) Borg Sex: Joe mixes techno with rock.....great!!

21) Turkey Man: Another great Satc song and every Satch fans favorite (from what I've heard).

22) Oriental Melody: Joe's 10th album and this song kicks off the album and announces Joe is back with a vengence!!!!!!

23) Starry Night: A Grammy Nominated tune Joe wrote after September 11th. This song is about Joe asking God "Why?". A superbly, well written song.

24)The Journey: The name says it all. A song that allows me to escape from this world.

24) The Eight Steps: A bonus track only available on the Japanese release. This again shows off Joe's ability to write a very cool song. This to me shows Joe coming full circle.

That's it. Sorry for the long post. Later peeps!!!!

Pete Mulas - Hey man, do you have a Laney Tube Fusion amp? How do they hold up to those LC's your were telling me about a while ago? Once again, the new tune rocks... we need some more "shreddish blues" from ya! Great job...

Wolf2 - So that's what it means... lol, thanks for the translation.

Matt - Ah, Balducci... he rocks. That's really cool man, I should pick up his cd sometime...
