KEVT03...........you will find that you are not late for work, cos you will still be fired up from the show, like I am the next day after a live Joe gig. Really pleased you are OK Michelle, shame about that lady's car ! Just found a great shortcut for windows. Hold the windows key ( on keyboard) & hit M. This will minimise all windows. If anyone knows how to minimise the top one let me know please............Thanks anibur

Stupid Computer Question Of The Day:

I know what a PCI slot is, and I know that my computer has several of them, but... How do I know if I have a PCI 2.1 compliant slot?

My computer is 2 1/2 or 3 years old. I've looked through some of the manuals that came with my computer, but they don't tell me anything (I'm not really surprised...). I did a Google search but didn't really come up with anything either. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

EDIT - I found my answer...nevermind.

Hey guys I screwed my fretting hand up a couple of days ago practicing too much. Hopefully the damage is temporary. The main problem feels like its in my left index finger. I've been putting ice on it and my mom told me to take Ibuprofen, but I would like to get some advice from anybody here who has had this type of injury. Any other ideas how I can take care of the problem? Thanks

TonyCapone - I'm not saying that it is, but what you could be suffering with is called Tendenitis or Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). If this is the case then the only way to get rid of it is to NOT PLAY and rest your hand as much as possible. I went to the Guitar Institute (in London) and so many people got it (including myself but in my picking hand) and they couldnt play for months cos they tried to play through it. My advise to you? GO TO YOUR DOCTOR before its too late as you could damage your tendens PERMANENTLY!!!!

Fusion5000: Have you checked out the new Ibanez S guitars? The new prestige line is gooing for a little over a grand, and they got an amazing write up in guitar player magazine. All of the S series lines have the ZR trem which is the most amazing locking trem you'll ever find...you ought to check them out....even though I'm kind of biased myself haha! (I own 2 S470's)

TAPPER5- dont feel bad if you cant figure out time signatures, i never could either...people tell me the van halen tune "unchained" is 5/8 or something, but to me it sounds like everything else so...

on the AWD thing, what is AWD? i thought it was every wheel turns independently of the other...

Austin: Thanks for the link man, I knew someone had to have it.

Ovation: Yeah, I'll try to remember to post something about the release of the cd here lol

Michelle: Yeah, the guy with the love letter quote may have been using moldy bread lol That's some seriously bad luck with your neighbor's car, I'd be so pissed.

Graham: Nice quote, but I'm right back on it with this one: "Don't let it end like this. Tell them I said something." Last words of Panco Villa

OCPS470: We're pretty damn close man. Not much longer I assure you. I too am whimpering lol

Narface: Yeah the 3000GT/GTO rocks for it's intended purpose. Flat out gettin it down the open road. Kinda strange how the name is different over here. Maybe they were afraid of Pontiac suing them over use of the GTO designation, which really wouldn't make any sense, because they stole it from Ferrari.

Mr. Nick: Good luck man, don't forget to have fun.

Yayogakk: AWD and 4WD are just different marketing names for the same thing. 4WD being a more popular term for off road capabilities and AWD being for nice balanced distribution of power in a street/sport package. Most cars considered "AWD" do poorly in inclement weather because they're generally sport oriented while "4WD" vehicles can plow through that shit.

Did anyone else see the write up in Guitar World about G3? Nice interview with Satch, Vai and Malmsteen. In fact, today's quote of the day is taken from that article: "....Satriani remains serenely detached. In his own quiet way he can trump the pair of them.....Satch is like the wise, patriarchal monk in kung fu movies-the tranquil master who could kick the crap out of everybody if he felt like it."

I don't know if the information is accurate, but this article says that Epic Records will release The Satch Tapes on DVD this fall.

Pretty cool, huh? It's about time. ;-)

Zachary!!!

Can't wait to try the "Trembolt" you can count on me to say some good things about it... that's for sure...

Yeah, the alternate tunings thing you were discussing sounds cool, as I miss that with my old axe... which just had a standard stop tail piece bridge... which in that case is very easy to tune to an alternate tuning... Sounds like an Eddie Van Halen D-Tuna plus much more... again I can't wait...

I await the product anxiously!!!

Peace!!

Barrie!!

Matt King!! you might want to try the Trembolt!!

Sounds like a neat little novelty for a guitar player... and you trying & testing the product would be an extra added bonus... people trust you, and if its really worth their while to try the product and with a little persuasion and persistance, maybe Joe could try it as well, seeing that he is the guru of modern guitar and all it's inventions whether it be electronic or technically enhancing the Axe... I'm sure Joe would come through in that case that could change to an alternate tuning in the middle of a song with the flick of a lever and wammo... instant open tuning which can really open new horizons in guitar playing...

Joe,

I have been a fan of yours for a long time now. I took a woman that I have been dating to your show last year in Portland, OR and she loved your music. I am taking her again this year to see you in Portland the 16th of October, as a surprise. Can You say Hi to Dee Klager after one of your songs for me? It would mean a lot, as this woman is the most special person I have known in my lifetime. I listen to your music and it has a very positive effect on my day.

Thanks,

John Williams
