rotwildmen - I'm in row G of section A, which is on the right side if you're facing the stage. We're both in section A, so it should be easy to meet up before the show. I found your email address in your profile, so I'll write you in a few weeks and maybe we can work something out.

Is anyone else going to the 10/18 G3 show in LA?

trutina - Does Joe type in legato runs? LOL! Good question... I think he types in staccato phrases (spread very far apart), because he ends everything with "more on this later". ;-)

Question for anyone:

What's your guys opinion on the D-Tuna mechanism (i think thats what its called)? It's the thing that goes on your bridge and drops the low e string by one step. I was looking into getting one and was wondering if its actually a decent product. Also, does it matter if you have a floyd rose trem or a standard trem (like on Fender strats)? Thanks for any help.

mowlie 2000: Trutina is latin for balance. I'm ever in search of balance it seems. Between the heart and mind. Between good and evil. Between standing and falling lol.

Austin: Oh, that would explain it a little better lol.

TRUTINA - lol I´m gonna cut my hair too, but i use since my 16 years of age short hair :-). Danger Danger rules with Andy as Dokken rules with George Lynch :-).

GREG M- Not sitting, JP, Labrie and MP were waiting for a table. Me and my friends too. Of course i talked with Petrucci about G3, new album and guitar players. He had a vynil disk of Genesis in the hand. Petrucci is really cool and nice. I have photos of the moment :)). Take care my friend.

Joe, I am buying a new guitar and I am looking at 2 models in particular. The JS500 and the JS1000. I know that the quality will be better on the latter but is the difference great enough to spend £800 ($1200) on? You're a legend Ian

Alex, I thought de-tuners were just for fixed bridges. I've never seen one on a trem, and I'd be surprised if they work at all with a Floydd. still, i'm happy to be surprised!
Thanks guys for the discussion about Andy Timmons. I was argueing with myself as to whether or not to spend yet more money on music, and snatch "The Spoken and The Unspoken" on CD. I gotta do it! Also, nice to see amazon giving advanced pre-ordering on Steve's live DVD. can't wait.
Olly, sounds pretty cool man. would like to hear more originals. the covers are cool, but originals are more interesting. Where do you buy your stuff? not Guitar Mania, per chance?

The EVH D-Tuna is designed for Floyds.

It clips on to the tension adjuster type thing at the back, and a lever motion changes it from "dropped" to regular and vice versa.

Definitely a cool alternative to the Hipshot things, since that one you can do with you're right hand.

Tapper5: Hey bro, thanks once again for your kind words and support!! Great to see ya on the board. You can get Andy Timmons cd's from his site Andytimmons.com or Ebay.

FuSiOn5000: I have heard of Vicious Rumors, but have not heard the music. I'm a huge fan of 80's rock/metal. Peticularly the late 80's and early 90's. There are soooo many players and bands from that era that I like. Reb Beach, Vitto Bratta, Gearge Lynch, Warren Demartini, Harry Kody(shotgun messiah) Steve Stevens, Steve Blaze(lillian axe) Neal Schon (his side project "Hardline" was SICK!!!) Geez, I could go on and on and on. There are a ton of more obscure bands/players that I like, but can't think of em' all now. Great era for guitar.

Ovation - LOL man! That Yngwie B Goode was awesome!

Alexandre - Ok, I promise I will try to get the Screw It album as soon as possible, lol! I may have found the album w/ that bonus track you were talking about...Try This... Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not?

Fretslayer - Ya, Andy's working on a new cd that should be released after he's done touring with Freak Kitchen and then Olivia-Newton John. I'm so stoked about it! I wish he would release a better quality dvd too, with some of his other material. The dvd out now has Cry For You in good quality, at the concert he played with Vai and Gilbert in Japan, but the rest are really more like actual bootlegs with just a single camera, and the sound could be better.

As far as Reb Beach, he did look like he was awesome at tapping... In the video, him and Andy just go crazy, it's awesome!
