Hey hey Whojack! How u b?
I got the new Rob Zombie cd/dvd yesterday - Past, Present, and Future. Good stuff man! The dvd has loads of cool videos too. Also got the new Limp Bizkit cd/dvd. I haven't played the cd yet, but I watched the dvd today. All shit. Just a bunch of wasted dudes talking about nothing and showing all the titties in the audience & stuff. It's dated 1996 or something like that. Lame. No stories, no videos. I care as much about what those guys were doing in '96 as they care about what I was doing. Maybe I'll give the cd a spin tomorrow? Anyways, the Zombie cd/dvd gets three thumbs up. The Bizkit dvd gets put on the shelf, never to be seen again. lol!

come to think of it, yea, all people saying yngwie is better is only because he's faster, and on an hour of listening to him, it's all the same and I can hardly make it past the 3rd song. Don't get me wrong he's got some cool songs, but man, satch can tear a strip up one side and down the other on both vai and yngwie, and Vai is f---in amazing, I love him.
Yngwie is the sux!

Ah, another question... What are some good guitar stores in downtown Chicago?
My uncle sent me a mission to hunt down a very rare Duane Allman Slide. Yep, it's that replica of Duane Allman's guitar slide. Made from glass bottle necks. Rare~ anyone seen it?

Death Cube K, Sorry if that generalization misrepresented you... that's the general feeling I get though from this board...
Yngwie is the sux!
Whether people (including myself) agree with it or not, that's hilarious! Thanks for that little nugget, Invigor.

Dude, Invigor,
"Satchville, Canada"
That soooooooo sounds like it could be some little satch-oriented hippie commune on the outskirts of one of the provinces ;)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I've never liked Yngwie's music because he plays fast, I like it because it connects with me. I love what he does, and I couldn't care less how many notes per second he can play. Anyone that only likes music because it's fast is an idiot.
I love all of the G3 guys, and I'm not a musician. I happen to think they all make incredibly beautiful and inspirational music, Yngwie included (yes, he's my favourite of the three, but they are all excellent). I don't mind that people don't like what he does, but I think he does get underrated on this board, and doesn't get the respect he deserves for what he's achieved.

PaulEMoz: that would have to be the first time I've heard someone say that. I know for sure that some people can't listen to Joe for the same reason other people can't listen to Yngwie, and so on down the scale of "speed/intensity". I like your opinion, don't necessarily hold the same, but I can see how your point of view is very valid. (It's just I've never heard it before - not like that anyway.)
On Yngwie: "After you hear 3 songs it's all the same from there on..." - Anon. guitar fan
On Joe: "After you hear a few bars it's all the same from there on..." - Anon. music fan
See the similarity? I would hazard that few people here hold the latter view, but it seems a lot outside of here do. It seems a lot here hold the first view...

Has anyone seen the Top 100 guitarists list from Rolling Stone magazine? Check it out if you want a laugh, just to give you some idea of how stupid it is: they got Kurt Cobain as #12, and Van Halen is #70. You won't find Joe Satriani or Steve Vai on the list at all.
