I've said it before and I'll say it again. I've never liked Yngwie's music because he plays fast, I like it because it connects with me. I love what he does, and I couldn't care less how many notes per second he can play. Anyone that only likes music because it's fast is an idiot.

I love all of the G3 guys, and I'm not a musician. I happen to think they all make incredibly beautiful and inspirational music, Yngwie included (yes, he's my favourite of the three, but they are all excellent). I don't mind that people don't like what he does, but I think he does get underrated on this board, and doesn't get the respect he deserves for what he's achieved.

The only thing about Yngwie that isn't diminished is his beer gut.Its more like augmented.

PaulEMoz: that would have to be the first time I've heard someone say that. I know for sure that some people can't listen to Joe for the same reason other people can't listen to Yngwie, and so on down the scale of "speed/intensity". I like your opinion, don't necessarily hold the same, but I can see how your point of view is very valid. (It's just I've never heard it before - not like that anyway.)

On Yngwie: "After you hear 3 songs it's all the same from there on..." - Anon. guitar fan

On Joe: "After you hear a few bars it's all the same from there on..." - Anon. music fan

See the similarity? I would hazard that few people here hold the latter view, but it seems a lot outside of here do. It seems a lot here hold the first view...

Has anyone seen the Top 100 guitarists list from Rolling Stone magazine? Check it out if you want a laugh, just to give you some idea of how stupid it is: they got Kurt Cobain as #12, and Van Halen is #70. You won't find Joe Satriani or Steve Vai on the list at all.

Yes, Marshall I do have something to contribute.Thank you for acknowledging. I must manifest something for your curiosity, and your satisfaction will please me.I can taste the fame; now all I need is the fans.I still have to dream; I've worked so hard, that I couldn't stop playing even if I wanted to. For me it's either self-destructive behavior; or transmuted creativity; when you take it to the next level, then go a little further, and a little further, and a little more until you've set something in motion that cannot be stopped. It does freighten, and intimidate people, and at times you will stand alone and unable to find an equal; you will then begin to see your full potential: Then only will you posess that which is learned and never forgotten; You must journey alone.

Heads up! Everbody Who's ripping on Yngwie; unless you really are better than him, you have no reason to criticize his painstaking effort; and weather you respect him or not he carries something inside of him that is worth more than all the money in the world; It satisfies him, entertains others, and keeps him happy{ hopefully.} So in other words, Don't talk tough when your not. Real talent respects itself.

Mustaine: on the pull-down menu (when you've logged in) select "edit/add show attendance" and pick the one you're going to.

You will then be entered automatically into the aftershow pass competition, which if you win, you will be emailed by the Webmaster.

So yes, it is possible.

hey joe, thanks for years of killer licks.i am writing you for your opinion. i have a badass little jackson jjp, with a hot pickup,dr 10's.it's solid mohogany, and it screams. i would like your opinion on a tube preamp compressor or (something tube) to drive it with. i dont care about brand names, just performance.i like low end chunk, good sustain, wailing mid presence. i have tried modeling type effect gizmos, but i like a tubey growl.any suggestions? p.s. we'll be in vegas for G3 at the house of blues on the 10th of oct.so whatever you play live or on your next (best of) cd ,is good by me.play what you love, and they will come. thanks for taking time to read this. your caraudio madman, maddogdavel.

I don't care who you are or where you're from; If you wanna be good, you gotta go though the same shit: and when you really do become that good, it will be enough contentment inside you, that you won't be jumping through hoops to prove yourself to people who just covet you anyway; Humble people Shine brighter.

Okay this is to much. I need real people. I know there are many people onsite; But too many archetypes. I'm just not a computer person. It doesn't stimulate me. Nothing matters; It's all just a bunch of compiled thought, desire, and ever-expanding ego. I Love Joe satriani; he is absolutley my favorite. He's colorful, tasteful, emotional, and balanced. So what if half his stuff is right out of E. It's beautiful, and for me there's no such thing as too much of that. Some things are so simple, that they're difficult to find. The whole is greater than the sum of the chords.

I really don't think that joe likes to be worshipped, and if you view him as some sort of god, then he will always be ahead of you and you'll do nothing to change it. You will spend your life waiting instead of acting. Stop kissing ass with your fame-filled googly eyes, and wake up! You can do anything joe can do if you want it bad enough.

MICHELLE- badass camaro, but definetly NOT worth 70k! more like 30 to 40k, for 70k you can buy a brand new off the lot Dodge Viper which would probably dust that camaro.

by the way check out this cool new band i made, i'm promoting these guys so let me know if you want them in your city! AWESOME BAND
