Trutina:- You should do left hand workouts in groups of two fingers, two frets at a time. Index-middle. Middle-ring. Ring-pinky. Do you have a metronome? Try 80 bpm.one note for one beat. Then two for one, then three etc. Then go faster. At first this may seem boring and not melodic, and it is. You should also independently work out your right hand. I live about 90 minutes north or so from louisville.

Ken campell:- he's not coming to cincy either. But he's always here.

Luke:- I'm 26, I've played the keys, the drums and have now played guitar for around 14 yrs. I still synthesize everything. I know many ,many songs and have a profound understanding of music theory; but i'm all feeling. I play about everyday and write alot. Don't be afraid to learn from others; covers are just other peoples originals.

Austin: Ah... there's actually a newer version of the Secret Jewel Box from vai.com. This is an $85 set with the two new archives CD (#3 & #4). So that's 5 CDs (not including the 'secret' one), plus I already have archives #1, that leaves 4 more to go right? Yes, maybe I will get it!! Let's put a hole thru my wallet! lol

Who's heard of donatos pizza? Who likes it? I bet Joe likes it. Everybody's happy to see the pizza man; unless you're hardcore vegetarian. Give it up for carnivores.

wow... i'm certainly a multiple orgasm type of guy i guess, and they're all goin in different directions.
i wish you hadn't gotten me started on that analogy...

on a darker, but less nasty note...
part of me says "just write a regular children's book," but the sadistic twisted part of me REALLY wants to write "If you give a diabetic mouse a cookie..."

hi austin, thanks for the link! Funny, i.ve got exactly the same shirt you wear on the foto. If the weather is fine, i will wear it at greek theatre too - as a "recognize-sign". For california people it is hard to believe: in october the weather in germany is already damned cold, wet and windy. Greets from over the sea, Mathias

Trutina and whoever else said - for the first few years of my playing i didnt use my pinky then i realised i really should use it and decided to spend some time working on it. At first I couldnt control it at all but after 1-2 months of training it it started to fit in with my other fingers. Its a pain to have to chenge your whole technique but defintaly worth that extra effort!!

962 - Yer I did buy my £1200 guitar from there and some of my pedals but the thing that got me was i thought I had a good deal when they reduced the guitar from 1299 to 1200 for me but then I saw on their website that they were advertising it for 1199 and i felt slightly cheated!! I still got a stand and strap thrown in but still, They did say it was due to the correct setting up of it etc but again I felt they were just making excuses as Ibanez state clearly that all gitars are supplied fully set up!! then I checked the intonation and it wasnt spot on anyhow!! - anyway I gather you are talking about Jons band? He gave me lessons for a while a year or so ago and i would definately like to see him play!! let me know the details etc!

Aarren - cheers for the updated file - If I get some time I may thinkabout re recording Ceremony but Im desperate to begin writing soemthing of my own!!

webmaster - Would it be possible for you to change the set list choices from 32 songs down to the 10 or 15 songs that Joe will play for the G3 tour? I guess it doesn't make a huge difference, I dunno...

rotwildmen - It's good to hear from you again. What is your favorite Joe Satriani album? What are some of your favorite songs? I usually ask those questions to new people that visit here, and I don't think I've asked you yet. Also, how many times have you seen Joe in concert? What about Steve Vai or Yngwie Malmsteen?
