Ovation - That's exactly what I was after. When I was at The Guitar Institute my style was described as a cross between Hendrix and SRV which I certainly didnt complain at. I'm thinking of adding some Nuno-inspired lines to it but dropping the rhythm guitar back to just a basic chordal pattern and letting the lead guitar go where it wants to. Still in its infancy tho........

Thanks for checking it out,

Aarren

Help me with my career choice

If you guys had the chance to just be leaving school again, and you could either go to college, or go straight into a job, what would you do?
I don't know what I should do, I would like to just entertain people with my guitar playing, could I just do that without going to college?

Please come up with some ideas for me..
Janice

Janice To quote Clarky on going to university/college/whatever you call it, "It didn't make me a better musician, but it opened up compositional avenues I could never have dreamed of." Going to college would be good, especially as, over here at least, its a lot easier to be a music teacher if you've got a diploma to your name.

ovation Thanks for the happy 813, /\/\ike! I thought no one was going to.

phrydom Have I wished you happy 1000, yet? If not, then Happy 1000 Dave! BTW, what did you use to make your guitars, and how many of them are currently assembled? What woods and what pickups, and rea they bolt, set or thru neck construction? Do you have anymore in the pipeline?

The Last Dragon Tears : Hey, French guy... About Stu Hamm, when I saw the DVD for the first time I also thought the public started booing him... But when Joe says "Stuart Hamm on the Bass Guitar", they actually yell "Stuuuuuu"... It sounds like a boo, but it's not, don't worry, man... How could someone do that with such an amazing Bass player?! Never! Stu Hamm rocks!

By the Way, this DVD is one of the best shows I've ever seen... Great music selection, wonderful audio/video quality and the most important: Joe and the band are just perfect...

apandabear4u - Each winner receives two passes.

Artanis I Sinatra - Yeah, that was just over two years ago...right before the start of G3 2001.
Ah Nah Moi - If the venue said it is up to the artist then you should be able to bring a camera to the gig.

Hey, it's great to see G3 coming back to the Sunshine State. I'll be in Pensacola for your gig. I have a question: When will you be touring solo, i.e. evening with Joe, and is there an album in the works soon??

See ya soon.

Janice ~ take a gap year, do some work, then go to college. that's what I've just done, and i thoroughly recommend it. You get a chance to earn some money for all your hard work, buy some things (great guitars, amps...whatever) then go to college to learn what you really enjoy the most - guitar playing.

Janice - An educated older fellow once told me that in his opinion college wasn't so much about career choice and what you actually learn in college related to that choice as it is about the people you meet and the relationships you develop.

Well, my Andy Timmons products I ordered came in today. They did not disappoint as expected. The guy is a monster! The Spoken and the Unspoken is such an awesome cd! And his bootleg DVD has some cool stuff in it... not the best quality but you really get to see him play; he's got awesome stage presence!

mick87: I'm a big fan of Andy Timmons too. I have the "Spoken/Unspoken" cd, and it's got some great stuff. I really dig his first all instrumental release "Ear X-tacy" What do you think of that album??

hi every body i play guitar, and i like very much satriani's style, so i decided to play it on a festival. The festival is in october 18, and i'm trying to get a very close sound to his set up. I only have a korg ax1500g and a boss supershifter, so i'm looking for a patch for my multiefect pedal that could sound like satriani does thanx!

Fretslayer - I don't have Ear-X-Tacy 1 or 2... but, I do have That Was Then, This is Now, which has got a lot of the tracks from the first Ear-X-Tacy. I love the tunes that I have heard off that album... Cry For You rocks and That Was Then, This is Now is awesome too. What tunes do you dig off that album?

I was watching the G3 dvd with you, Mr.Vai, and Mr.Johnson and on the song Cool #9 I was wondering how you do that technique where you put your right hand on the fretboard, and use your left to dance up the neck. By the way, I nicknamed this technique the "itsy bitsy spider" technique.

RC9- it's joe's super fret dancer move, if you slow the DVD down frame by frame you can actually see a little smoke rise off the fretboard... in the aftermath of this discovery it has led some to name the move "the grassy knoll technique", whether or not it can be learned is a subject of heated debate!

JBlaze for guitar guard !!

In my opinion, you would have to BE Joe to sound like Joe. I was jamming with my friends the other night, and we went into a fast blues shuffle. I'll tell you what, I have'nt had that much fun playing guitar in a long time. It finally occured to me that the blues is where I belong, and that as much as I would love to play like Joe, I don't think I would be totally happy doing that. I've given up on trying to emulate him and I'm just going to enjoy myself. I can't play like the man, but he sure inspires me to keep playing.........Peace, D@ve

Wolf - Dead niggers? Oh, right on.

Stefstreur - Manhattan is amazing isn't it? It should be on kazaa if you are familiar.

AarrenMowle - Blowout, really a rockin riff. Loved the way the bass and drums comes in and supports throughout. Let me know when you add to that one.
