Hey, what would be a good introduction CD for Andy Timmons? 'Ear X-Tacy' or 'That Was Then, This Is Now'?

Narface - I'll say That Was Then, This Is Now... just cause it is a Best of and gives you awesome tracks from both Ear-X-Tacy's and 5 new tracks too. Either way you'd be fine though.

Joe,

Glad to hear you are coming back to Minneapolis. I attended the Engines of Creation tour date and thought it was awesome, except for one thing. After intermission the guy at the sound board apparently thought loud was better. NOT! The State Theater has great acoustics and all that happened was everything got muddy and the sound quality sucked. Please don't let it happen again. I love hearing every note and can't wait for the G3 date!

Hello Strangers

Now with G3-03 just around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to arrange to meet up at one of the local restaurants like we did last time.

Anyone interested please email me at

Clarky: 2 songs and one movement...yeah okay...but they're the ones you mention the most! It's "The Rape of the..." that I've heard, and not "The Raft of the..." As you can probably understand, when no lyrics are involved it's much easier to confuse song titles.

COErules: you can put spaces in there you know...you don't need hyphens or underscores here.

Smile and nod, just smile and nod.

xxxx: yngwie man!
akreepish1: heh heh
xxxx: My guitar god
xxxx: Way more than Vai and Satch
akreepish1: dude, this guy posted a hilarious track on the joe forums (no one really likes yngwie there ;-))... called "yngwie b goode"
xxxx: lol`
xxxx: But plain and simple he really does smoke Vai and Satch
xxxx: Nothing against them at all
xxxx: All great players, but Yngwie got 'em
...
xxxx: A man who does 64th note arpeggios  at 250 bpm is not of this planet

I felt compelled to reproduce this conversation... This comes in third place for "Yngwie talk I can't look at without having a teeny tiny explosion inside my brain."

edit: does anyone else find it a bit ironic that most Yngwie fans always have something to say about why he's better, always concerning speed?
"Oh, he's fast? I didn't notice from the constant aural bashing I just received."

Mr. Satriani, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE play a G3 show in Texas--or let us know when you're doing Texas shows. There's not even any shows remotely close to TX posted so far---just to let you know (which I'm sure you do), there's tons of people that REALLY want to hear G3 and would drive hundreds of miles to do so (which you have to do to get anywhere in Texas or out of state).

Thanks,

Neal

Hey hey Whojack! How u b?

I got the new Rob Zombie cd/dvd yesterday - Past, Present, and Future. Good stuff man! The dvd has loads of cool videos too. Also got the new Limp Bizkit cd/dvd. I haven't played the cd yet, but I watched the dvd today. All shit. Just a bunch of wasted dudes talking about nothing and showing all the titties in the audience & stuff. It's dated 1996 or something like that. Lame. No stories, no videos. I care as much about what those guys were doing in '96 as they care about what I was doing. Maybe I'll give the cd a spin tomorrow? Anyways, the Zombie cd/dvd gets three thumbs up. The Bizkit dvd gets put on the shelf, never to be seen again. lol!

come to think of it, yea, all people saying yngwie is better is only because he's faster, and on an hour of listening to him, it's all the same and I can hardly make it past the 3rd song. Don't get me wrong he's got some cool songs, but man, satch can tear a strip up one side and down the other on both vai and yngwie, and Vai is f---in amazing, I love him.

Yngwie is the sux!

Ah, another question... What are some good guitar stores in downtown Chicago?
My uncle sent me a mission to hunt down a very rare Duane Allman Slide. Yep, it's that replica of Duane Allman's guitar slide. Made from glass bottle necks. Rare~ anyone seen it?
