Tonecapone:- are you right handed? if so keep your fingernails on your left hand short. Do you use your pinky? if so good, if not you need to really work on it because utilizing all your fingers will allow you to have less movement, more notes, faster notes, and it will make moving around the fretboard more dynamic and relaxed. you don't want to end up like kirk hammet, and be stuck in the same box for 20 years not using your pinky, and being doomed to have a limit on what you can do.

Stu Clone: Fizzy Lime Jello for G3 lol

Narface: You can catch them on ebay a lot of times, but be careful, I've seen a lot of them sold as empty boxes with no discs at all.

OCPS470: That confirms my "Harder to play slow" theory. I can't play really slow, expressional stuff at all. Way too much time to screw up inbetween notes for me lol. Of course I can't play really fast either, so I just set the cruise on groove lol.

pizza man: You are so right about using the pinky. Mine is basically useless. I really need to work on it, but it's so frustrating to start over again like that.

Ovation: Today I was checking out PG's site, in the discography section and learned to my horror that he had the Japanese bonus track for the first Merry Axemas CD! How have I gone this long and not known about this? Dammit! I'm assuming you probably have it. Is it cool enough to buy an import for?

Trutina:- You've already played for 8 yrs. Have you done any two-handed tapping? Also, do you know how to practice at a steady, slow and consistent speed? How's your alternate picking? All you need to do is add a new regimine of routine to what you already do. Try doing an Aminor arppeggio like so: 7-12 on the A,10 on the D, 9 on the G, 10 on the B, 8-12 on the high E. This requires index, middle and pinky fingers to pivot on the fretboard. Do it very slowly and perfect: see where you're going next: later move it around. Then after about 8-10 hours of practice spread out over several weeks you will remain relaxed with less movement playing faster. And after repetition, you will have incorperated something new into what you already have.

Hey Joe, I was wondering if you would ever be able to release the 2001 G3 Concert onto DVD. It would be great.

Long live John "Bonzo" Bonham......no one has ever pounded the piss out of a drum kit as he...... I read years ago that shortly before he passed, he drank four quadruple vodka's.....four !!! Exactly how many shots is that? You could try it and find out, but you'd probably die of a stroke.

Edit: I was told that it's sixteen shots....all within 10 or 15 minutes. I mean absolutely no disrespect to JB, just thought you all might like to know exactly why he perished...

PIZZA Man thanks for the tips. I think trying to get my pinky more involved and doing different positions and chords is what caused me to injure myself. I just pushed myself too hard. When I get completely healed I plan on being alot smarter about my stretching and warmup exercises before I practice for such long periods of time. Peace

Also New Matrix movie will be out Novembet 10th. Showing commercials for it already.

Hi Joe I cant wait to see you at the palace of auburn hill,mi oct 23. I will be at section c row 4 seat 13 and my friend another guitar player and super fan of yours. It sure would be one of the most incredible moments of my life being 41 and I still need to get my Joe fix everyday. You even responded to one of my emails when I asked you about what the pedal you used on "BORG SEX" and you said ah yes the ultimate octice pedal.I emediately went out and got one. I teach guitar to several students one being my daughter that is 12, but I tell her she is not yet ready to learn your songs yet. But I cant wait for the day some of her friends say what is that you are playing and she responds that is Joe Satriani !!!!!

Ok Gang... the message board is not a chat service...

If you want a chat service, look up at the top right hand corner and click on where it says your nickname and then Options... scroll down until you see "LIVE CHAT"

a window will pop asking you if you want to enter the chat... click the grey bar where your nickname is and you should be on your way to live chatting...

enough said...

ZACH!!! Hey man... I'll be waiting with bells on and in the nude for my trembolt...LOL

It's all very likely though that it will show up sometime next week say Monday or Tuesday... it's got to pass through inspection at the border and all, so we'll see... Anyways... I really appreciate this and I can't wait to try it out...

Death cube:- I can and do play in all keys, however I am partial to certain ones; be it because of the geography of the neck or because something's feeling really right, or sounding so good that I have to keep playing it. I like to transpose different things to get a contrast, or a certain colorful form. Look at system of a down, almost everything they write is in c-tuning Sometimes you'll write something and it will continue to evolve over a period of years. It's like you are a tree and every branch is a different riff or idea, yet all of it is connected.

Stu Clone - I think some people are just brain dead when it comes to music. I mean, were they recentmy into drag racing before they went to guitar? Yes, brain explosions, yes.

As for speed, man, Joe and Steve have moments where they'll play something just as fast, they just aren't doing it 100% of the time. ARE PEOPLE REALLY THAT STUPID!? REALLY?!

Yeah I know, they are.

Yngwie B Goode - Man, I love the harmonies on both the guitar and vocals and as a whole at 2:01.
