I just want to say thanks to Joe (and Steve and Yngwie) for a great show at Humphrey's in San Diego. And thanks to the site for the after-show passes. This was the first time I had met Joe, and at 37 I still felt like a kid! I actually had just one question I wanted to ask and I totally forgot to ask it! (I wanted to ask what pedal he uses to to the octave shifts in Cool #9...)

Anyway, thanks again

Tim

Thanks Joe and webmaster, checked out e-mails this a.m. and what great news we had. We won backstage passes to the concert on thursday in Portland Or. 10-16-03. I am taking my 11 year old daughter to her 1st concert, She's been a serious Joe fan for about 2 years now. This will be a great memory in her young life. My parents never took me to a concert at 11. Much less backstage to meet anyone. ALMA THIS WILL BE A GREAT MEMORY TO HAVE IN YOUR YOUNG LIFE THAT YOU WILL TAKE FROM NOW INTO ADULTHOOD. It's going to be a fun night. Love Dad,

Hey everyone!

I went to the G3 show in San Diego and it was awesome!! Everyone there kicked butt!! but I was wondering if any of you knew what amps Joe is using for this tour. I looked and it didn't seem like they were marshalls (then again, i was way back in the 14th row). any ideas guys? mesa boogie?

thanks

p.s. I personally voted to see satch boogie, flying in a blue dream, always.. etc

Pete - Ya, it's too bad about Shawn... I had never listened to him before I heard he had passed, I checked out some of his songs... he seemed like such a great player.

Cool stuff about the funk though... That Gambale song has got some serious groove.

Matt - Good cover of Boogie... Guitar Port in action?

Cube - Happy Thanksgiving Man! Holidays rock...

Ovation1 - Since Christian's move to England, he does not have a computer. The only way he can check his emails are through an internet cafe and it is quite expensive down there. Once or twice a month he checks. Mention my name.

Dragonchild - That is his only web site... unless you can find some of his demos posted on http://www.mp3.com - search for hsi name. I accidentally found out about Christian Alsing when I was looking for music by Dave Martone. He was listed as one of Alsing's influences. Now Christian is my tied for favourite guitar player.

Invigor - I don't even think you've known of Christian Alsing for one full year.

matt, AWESOME job on the cover of SB...
personally, i like the "scream" into the song even better than the actual one... mucho testiculos there man. lol
the tone for most of the rest of the song is a little less though... sounds kinda thin in places.
hahahahahaha... chords part. lol. how late was it?

ooo... overdubbed screams? killer!

hahahahahahaha... very cool man

also listened to your metal thing, the actual playing didn't, but that solo SO reminded me of yngwie. lol man,
HE CAN DO IT ALL!!! keep it up bro!

Throwing picks at you at Humphrey's San Diego, Oct. 11th

Just for the record, that was ME tossing picks up on stage at the show at Humphrey's...

Several picks were thrown towards me during the show (I was in the 2nd row), but I didn't manage to catch any..

So I did the next best thing I could think of; I threw a few of MY picks back up at you :) I thought it would be a nice change..

btw I made sure to only toss them when you weren't playing, I wanted to show my gratitude for the show, not try to mess you up in any way..

Thanks for a great concert, and beware I'll be bringing more picks with me the next time you come around >:)

Ken Brown, thanks for your recommendation regarding 'Kill Bill'.....I wanna go see it now! GT rocks..........you know the scene near the beginning of Pulp Fiction where they go to the apartment to sort out the guys who screwed Marsellus over? That has the best script! Samuel L. rules!

TheBob, YESSSSS! Another convert! hehe, I AM INVINCIBLE! muahaha! seriously tho, I'm glad I helped you discover a new high in the world of Satch-ism!

I'm so pleased to see all you cool people calling The Forgotten (Part 2) For G3! keep it up guys, and maybe put it in your top-ten on the setlist?!

CyberAlien, I like your words bro! oh, and did I mention The Forgotten (Part 2) For G3!? hehehe
'Monkeyman, respect! Throwing your own picks back up to the stage! I like it!

Joe: How about this: At the end of the show, throw all your picks at us, then throw your guitars and pedals, then you can throw us your amps! Matt and Jeff can do the same too! hahahahaha~

ovation - now smuggling and orchestra and choir into the hotel would be a blast... lol... "Do you have a reservation sir?"... "yes please, double room... being shared by a 147 guys...".. then looking over my shoulder "guys!.. what's the verdict.. smoking or non-smoking???... what do you mean you want the room with the view of the harbour you silly tart..??? there'll be no time for none of that 'round here"

so.. I'm jamming with a crazy Dutch guy tomorrow night... he's a big Dream Theatre fan... so... to piss him off... I'm going to learn Erotomania tonight... he don't think that it can be done in a single night.....

he's thrown down the gauntlet and like a good gentleman I accept....lmao

Yoda - haha... I wasn't totally sober at the Fest... I believe that I was 'lightly monged'.... so here's what I recall of your friends... there was three of them... they know you from the acadamy.. one of them is big into jazz, one was quiet and looked partially wasted [worse than me at least]... they are all players... and they are all skinnier than me.... what fucked me was when three dudes I've never seen before approach me saying "you're Clarky??"... and they weren't even police... I can't recall their names.. I wasn't in a clever enough state for anything like that... nice guys tho...
I got gently wasted Sunday night... could go mad 'cos I had an early flight to catch...
tonight I'll get Erotomania down a best I can until 11 and then hit the bar 'till it shuts.....
sounds like a plan to me..
trutina - has me letter reached you?
well I'm off...... got a track to learn and it sounds tricky here and there....

Hey, is Joe going to be at Tom Lee again this year when he comes to Vancouver on the 14th?

If he is, when?! Before the show? After the show?

Awsome concert at Humphrey's on Sat night. This had to be the best lineup I have ever seen for G3. Needless to say the soundman was awful...get a clue!

Does anyone have pictures? Please let me know.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone heard the track 'Instrumental', performed by Joe with Metallica? I have an MP3 of it, but the quality is poor and it's not on any of Joe's albums. It's a really good track and I'd love to know where it originated from/what album it's on if anyone has any info. Thankx. Donny.

Just for the record, I think backstage passes should go to PETE MULAS and MIKE (OVATION ) when Joe gets to their respective countries for being such dedicated fans EVEN THOUGH JOE HASN'T BEEN TO AUSTRALIA OR JAPAN FOREVER. Hell, they should get to stay in his hotel room with him too! LOL!! Just for dinner & drinks ;-)

hey joe, hey guys

i just thought id share this with you all. no offence but joes setlist does seem a bit predictable this year. im suprised he hasnt included any sbm tracks to the setlist. this would be my ideal G3 setlist. please give your opinions on what you think

the power cosmic(part one)

up in the sky

the mighty turtle head

the forgotten (part two)

mind storm

oriental melody

sectret prayer

the bells of lal (part two)

surfing with the alien

time machine

a train of angels ( or friends)

and for vai's setlist: frank(a must for G3), the mysterious murder of christian tierras lover , the blood and tears , juice and die to live

keep rocking joe, your still the best what ever songs you play.......theyre all cool!

mike...............son of smithers
