Ya know how we always say our friends never remember Joe's name and always come up with something odd? This is an actual email I received today. "hey shel i hope you have a great time see joe salziani. see you at work on thursday." LMAO!!! No matter how hard we try to educate.... LMAO!!!

As for Stewart the crazy/speed bump/feet trippin'/ furniture clawin'/ body slamming cat ~ that boy is nuts! I'm just glad it wasn't my other cat Moey. He has 17 lbs. of thrust when he comes running at ya. I'd need a friggin' helmet! lol!

Ovation, I thought all Lars used was a metal folding chair. My bad. LOL!

DCK, I'll try to remember :)

Jared, your having way to much fun with those pictures. LOL!!

Austin, thanks for the info on Jaco Pastorius dude! That's harsh about the way he died, and a shame that he got himself into trouble with drink and drugs. The biography is real interesting.......seems like he was a properly cool guy.

The Prez, yeah the JS100 is cool. the bridge is great, and the neck is lovely. I agree that the pickups are okay, but I would definitely change them for DiMarzio's. Either go for what Joe's got (a PAF Pro and a Fred) or go for a pair of Evolutions. Or, go for a PAF Pro in the neck and an Evo in the bridge! Super-sly.
The Forgotten (Part 2) For G3!
Jelly Stew, where di you hear about Joe helping out Jordan on his new record? That is totally awesome news! What a fantastic collaboration! Do you have Jordan's "Feeding The Wheel"? I don't, but i'm more than interested.......Jordan Rudess is ace.
PhryDom, thanks for the Jaco stuff man! the thing like you said about his eye being "ruptured and dislodged from it's socket" is so harsh.

4 months and a five grand payment isn't enough I'm afraid. The bouncer that mamed and slaughtered Jaco Pastorius needs to be sought out and wrecked. See how he likes it when his eye is hanging in the same pool of his own blood that his face is laying in.

Hill Groove For G3!
mick87, a Joe and Steve collaboration fora record - that would kick too much ass! hehe, I surely hope that happens some time
Ovation1, thanks for the Paul Gilbert info. I'm quite into bluesy stuff too - I really like Eric Sardinas and Kenny-Wayne Shepherd, among others, so I may like Raw Blues Power too!
user1, yeah Joe uses the whammy still, and a pair of DS1's. How come you want your rig to be as close to Joe's as possible? He uses a custom Peavy XXX head, but you'll have to wait a while until you can lay your hands on that. probably about a year or so, I reckon. You should stick with your own rig, with your own tone.
amddata, procedure for recording as a hobby? just hit the record button! hehe, seriously tho, If you have no intention of selling your recording, or publically performing it, Joe and his fellow musicians really aren't bothered. If you want to make it public/market it you do have to ask, and then just credit it to the original artists name.

Covering someone elses stuff usually isn't too much of a problem if you give them the credit for it.

michelle, good to hear that little Stewart is getting on ok! hehe. cats are so much fun. My cat got attacked by someone elses cat last night. she's not very happy - she's limping, and has a hole in her chin and in the top of her head. If I see that bastard cat that beat up my little moggy, I'll.......throw a rat at it! hehe, I wouldn't be able to do anything cruel, but I'll give it a good telling off!
mikesb, I've heard Walter Trout's cover of "Red House" pretty cool, very Gary More, in a way. I don't like Gary's vocal style much........he trills too much. I preferred Walter Trout's Sound, and I have heard of Bloodline. Thanks for the recommendations dude!

Oh, have you ever heard the "Tribute To Stevie Ray Vaughan" record? it's awesome.....it's got so many cool people on it, like Eric Clapton, Bonnie Rate, Jimmie Vaughan, Dr John, BB King, Robert Cray and so on. worth checking out!

I hope none of you people ever use things like kazaa? I was at a very interesting lecture yesterday about the music industry, what it's worth, and how royally it has been f*ck*d by the internet! Did you know that the global music industry is worth 36 billion US dollars? I think that worked out at about 32 billion Euros.

It's value is dropping fast, and at the current rate, with people downloading/pirating music and not going out and buying it, music will go out of production in about a decade.

I feel good that I spend so much on music ~ and I hope you lot all feel happy to help keep the industry alive too!

Ovation - M Cubed... heh, I think he would be a little intimidated when we unleash all madness on the glock and cowbell! Lol, on the neo-classical cowbell as your instrument!

Michelle - hehe... how to describe the sound of a washboard? hmm... your testing my vast array of onomatopoeia knowledge (that's right I know at least 1 big word!)... When some asks... tell them this... "Boom chicka bamm ding ding ting ding, blamo to the elle zee kaboom! scratchety scratchety..... kayak!" Now how one would go about playing that on the washboard is up to you... lol. And becareful... those kittens will tackle you when you look the other way!

Jelly Stew - Thanks man! Maybe when it comes out you can give us a review or something, so I can decide which one to get first. Thanks again...

962 - Ya... it'll rock if it ever happens.

Joe - Make it happen! lol, you and Steve should do an album together soon!

Well, another fun day in music class today. I'm convinced I'm now a funk player lol... I spent a few minutes jamming in the washroom again, the vice-principal popped in with the "what-the-hell-is-going-on" face. Then my friend came in and kinda interrupted my other friend and I, as we were working on a song, with his same-old licks. Teaching him the Blues scale might have been a mistake, lol! But it was fun... I then preceded to walk around the halls with my guitar playing these wierd funk lines I made up on the spot for teachers that didn't want to hear it... it was fun ;).

962 - i found out off jordan's mailing list - www.jordanrudess.com will let you sign up... I do have Feeding The Wheel which has some very cool tracks on it - doesn't hold my attention *all* the way, and some people might not enjoy the often hilarious spoken bits... but it's a good album.

OCPS-Dead on review, Malmsteen is an overrated hack.He may have had it back in the day, but now, I'd reckon a large portion of THE AUDIENCE at these shows can shred his ass.

JP and GILBERT smoke Yngwie like a fine cuban.

No Guage-I dont recommend Black Page to a Zappa Newbie. It just sounds like a bunch of notes if you aren't used to that type of tune...It could be call ed weird.Check out Inca Roads, it's just as odd, but more melodic, and it covers a lot of ground.

For Purple Haze- "Get Best band you never heard in your life"

for Black page-Its on a ton of albums, as there are several versions..I like the version on You Can't do that on stage anymore...volume 4 I think.

ZACHARY-I have thing fish...I like what I have heard so far, but I haven't made it all the way through..its a little nasty for my tastes..Im one of the rare Zappa fanatics who is much more into the music than the dirty lyrics, although I like those a lot too.
Clarky-"My Mom thinks I'm really good" -HAHAHAHAHA

You can play for my band..once me and Graham actually have a band that is....lol.

NINJA VANISH!

Mikesb-Thats cool.I know Yngwie's style pretty well, and I stand by my statements..I went to 2 G3 shows this tour, and he is a sloppy bitch.

I know JP's style even better, and JP smokes him.But Jp's big weakness is lack of improv skills.I dont call what yngwie does improvising. If you play the same lick over and over, it's not improvising.

I would NOT be surprised to find out that a LARGE portion of G3 audiences can take on Yngwie, seriously.

Lemme give youa for instance:

I saw a guitar contest about 5 years ago.one of the guys who entered had been playing for about 5 years, and was basically a Malmsteen clone. He was about as clean as Malmsteen was at the Reno show.Same licks, less ego.

I applaud Yngwie for his influence. He has influenced many who have knocked me out.BUT he is full of it.

take his Scalloped frets story:Now:he claims he stumbled across the idea while working on a lute when he was a kid.

But anybody who has read the guitar mags for any periood of time can recall a nice interview from the early-ish 80's where he claims he got the idea from Ritchie Blackmore.

I could go on, but its pointless.Think what you like :D

IMO: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN HAS ALL THE RANGE OF A DAISY AIR RIFLE.

:D

Matrix 3...pretty good.Story was dissappointing...great action sequences....I am a little bummed, but I had really high expectations.I liked Reloaded the best.

Mr Daultrey (your dad / brother / uncle / whatever never featured in a film called "McVicar" did he?!?!?!)... I agree that the cause of *our* loss' "punishment" was (to us) (at best) (too) lenient (man, too many brackets! lol) but I'd personally never wish anything bad on another...... even if he deserved a damn good kicking ;-) What's done is done... we can learn from it

btw.... kazaa (and all the endless clones) only hurt things if people use it the wrong way....

atra34895 but i never met you!! ROFL

if anyone put Yngwie's ass into a meat mincing thing then they could say they shredded his ass, I guess. but guitarwise, who the chuff cares? "shred his ass?" why not lose the attitude and focus on something more productive? Whether G3 is competitive or not, it's just guitarists doing gigs for guitarists (and wages lol).... see it for what it is (IMHO)
