Yay, I saw a floral jem in the window of a music shop today! That is one seriously cool music shop!

nspike Go into a guitar shop and ask.

the prez Joe's been nominated for a grammy and lost 13 times. It is sick.

fused9 I can't decide how to rank Vai's songs because there are so many good ones, but FTLOG is definitely my favourite.

do the stu How about Child in Time for the G3 jam? If you've heard the proper album version, you'll know the solos in the middle would be perfect for them to let rip. The only problem would be finding someone to do Gillain's vocals, I'm not sure that any of them could.

Wow, 14 pages to catch up on. Geez man!

I read someone else say that you need a few days after the show to actually soak it all in. Amen to that! My husband and I had the most awesome time! So much happened that I don't think I can even get it all down in a review. I don't have one single complaint...oh wait, yes I do! The bloody manager at the Keswick closed down the womens bathroom between YM & Vai's set. They told me it was "out of order" - bullshit! They actually closed down the ladies room to all women and opened it for the men because the mens line to the bathroom was to long. They made about 20 of us girls stand in a line for ONE handicapped bathroom, while the guys had full run of the 5 or 6 stalls upstairs. Total bullshit! A lot of us missed the start of Steve's show. When the mens line went down, the manager told us the bathroom was "fixed" and let us go upstairs. There were still guys coming out of the ladies room while we were trying to get in it. The guys looked a bit nervous coming out with all of us standing there too. ha! See, nobody else had a potty story for a review ;-)

YM was great. Funny as hell kicking those picks. He's a very talented player, and he really brought something different to the show. I totally enjoyed his set, which after reading all the reviews I thought I would hate it. He was rockin' his ass off. I kept asking if he had a band with him. Sooo much fog! lmao!!! You could barely see his band, and the fog made for crappy pictures, but it was fun.

Steve & his band were on fire! This was by far the best band line-up yet. When they all lined up and started playing each others guitars - OMG, that was so awesome! Dave Weiner held his own with 3 of the best in the world. Mad props to him! Steve was incredible. He is one with his instrument. He knows exactly what sound he's going to pull out of it, and reacts accordingly. I'm not a huge Vai music fan, but he was killer at this show.

Joe was awesome. He came out in a Ramones t-shirt, and between songs someone yelled out a song, I'm thinking it was "I wanna be sedated" and Joe had a good laugh. His set was great too. Jeff was killer, as usual, and Matt & Galen kept the groove flowing nicely. BBM, MPHGT, AWM.AWY - totally kicked my ass!

I heard the guy sitting behind me say that for the jam, he was going up front to the stage. Hell, if he's going I'm going! I told my husband to watch my purse & jacket, told the guy next to me on the other side that when the jam starts I'll be doing a blow by, so keep your arms & legs tucked - I'm comin' through! ha! I made my way SMACK in the middle of the stage, right in front of Steve's mic.

The jam started and YM starts singing Voodoo Child. Next thing you know, he comes over and stands right in front of me and starts rockin' out! I wouldn't have even had to fully extend my arm to touch him he was that close! (no, I didn't touch him. lol!) He did this about 4 times - almost stepped on my hand once. lol! On about the third time, I was trying to get a clear shot of Jeff with my camera. Well, I had to lean to my right, around YM's leg, and take a picture of Jeff. LOL! It was funny. I also took 2 pics of YM while he was right there, so I wasn't dissin' him. He was putting on one hell of a show! He even had on nice cologne and smelled good - that's how close he was. lol!

I think it was during this time that I was watching Joe. Next thing ya know, he gave me a little wave. I thought that was so cool, but it got better. A few minutes later he looked at me again and waved and said "HI MICHELLE". Of course I didn't hear the words, but I did read his lips. Man, you almost had to pull me off the ceiling!! I waved and said "Hey Joe!" - OMG I was so blown away!

Watching Joe & Steve interact during the jam was fantastic. Like everyone said, it's like they're running the same thought patterns. All they have to do is look at each other and they know what's going on in the others head. While Steve or YM would be playing their part, Joe would have his eyes closed just totally in a zone enjoying every note that was coming his way. He was so into it - damn, there ain't nothing like getting into that zone.

Between songs some guy ran up onstage and gave each of the guys a hug before he was pulled off. Joe just smiled and pointed to the guy and said "my new best friend". There was another guy who was totally out of his mind when YM was playing. He was running up and down the aisle yelling and woohoo-ing. Funny as hell, but probably annoying to some ppl.

The next post....at the bus...

Crispin-dude...there is nothing to get...they completely abandoned all the cool story arcs in the previous film.

it was basically a big war movie. The plot is ANTHING but subtle.Their explanations for mysteries left over from the second movie are so half assed and corny.

When the sequel came out, it was so aweseom because everyone I met(who liked it) had a cool theory about what the 3rd movie would hold.Ideas like A Matrix within a Matrix, Neo being just another form of control/program, the Oracle being a bad guy, etc. were all conclusions that could be drawn from the sequel. So how did they deal with all the mysterious things?THEY DIDN"T!

I did however still enjoy the movie.Great action, amazing effects. But I am EXTREMELY dissappointed about the lack of a story, or closure.

I guess since I am not religious I can't appreciate all of the symbolism. It just seemed silly, and unimaginitive. They could have gone so far with all the possiblities, and they took the easy way out. They took the money and ran.

Now, I was one of the guys here who defended the second movie.Lots of youse guys didn't like it, and I was totally into it. I thought it was WAY better than the 1st movie. This one?Disgraceful.

All my opinion, of course :D

Mikesb-huh?I guess.I do think I am better than Zakk & Yngwie at being sober. :D
Death cube special K-...Huh?(jk)

Hey what can you do? I'm personally not going to lie to anyone about how I feel. Why would I ask anyone else too?I just need some fucking tact :D

It was raining a bit that night, but there were pretty many people outside. The guys slowly started to trickle out, one by one. YM went to his bus before we got out there. The other guys came out one by one, shaking hands and signing everything handed to them. I got my picture taken with Billy. He's an extremely nice guy and loves the fans. Got a picture with Steve, but not a look into the camera picture. We was doin' bidness. He was signing my stuff. Jeff went straight to the bus. I yelled "Hi Jeff" and he smiled and gave me a thumbs up. Galen was walking around and talking to everyone. Matt must have went in the bus before we got there. Talked to Jeremy Colson and thanked him for "adding some color" to the stage (he's heavily tattooed). I told him "ya gotta represent" and we had a good laugh.

Joe came out and started signing stuff and shaking hands. My husband and I moved closer, and before I could say anything, Joe turned around and said "Hi Michelle, glad you could make it" and held his arms open for a hug. Yes folks, I damn near died! I gave him a big hug and said over his shoulder "awww Joe, I love you!" LOL!! We chatted a bit, and I let him get to the rest of the fans. A few minutes later we met up again, talked some more, got aaaanother hug, and he was on his way.

Euphoria at it's finest!!!

We met up with some fellow T2J'ers. Tomx2 and a girlfriend it was nice meeting you all. Wish we would have talked more, but I was soooo excited. John it was great finally meeting you and your wife. Rich, you know I love ya! lol! Say hi to Karen & Jake.

MIKE MANNING~ YOU ROCK!!

My mission was accomplished, but that was only Phase 1. Still 2 more phases till my mission is complete, then I'll let you in on it ;-)

LOVE YA JOE!!!

Michelle - Damn... you down wid Joe girl!! lol... congratz! I'm gettin' real curious about your mission here! Heh, great review. Glad it was a lot of fun!

Ovation - heh, it's all about the Yak! Oh and about Ricky Garcia, that reminds me... he is doing another one of his Jemfest Interviews today, with Greg Howe I think. I personally have never heard any of his music, but I'm still interested in what it's all about. I enjoy Ricky's interviews a lot, so it should be great.

Pete Mulas - Hey man, how are those studio recordings going? Hope everything's going well for ya down unda ;)!

wow so i guess everyone pretty much likes all of his songs, right?

there's a few i don't hate but i'm not too fond of. like the ones that are really hard rock, i'm not too into that. i like most of his softer stuff..stuff that makes you think and feel a lot more than the rock stuff.

anyways keep on listening to joe, he's awesome. laters!

ethn - you basically called the wachowski's bluff in other words. the MWAM (matrix within a matrix) theory was widespread and by absolutely no means original.#

As for Neo being a progam, yeah he is. Duh! What do you think the whole stuff about Sati is about? She being a program gets smuggled into the real world. She is the first carnation of the One within the next loop of the Matrix. This proves that the source of the One is... well, the source. The One starts off as a program.

All the programs in the Matrix bar Smith are a means of control. Even the councillors are a means of control- they are controlled by the machines (psychologically) since they know the truth about the prophecy- that's why there are no young men on the council- they have to keep the prophecy secret or the whole system will become unbalanced and out of the architect's control- and thus Zion will be destroyed.

I could go on explaining the brilliance, but either you'll reject what I've said, or be better off finding the rest out for yourself. These films will be seen by future generations as brilliance. No matter how many people don't like the way it ended.

Cube, I did think of relaying your message to Joe "DCK says HI", but of course it was while Joe was talking to other people. lol! Hell, I was so blown away I didn't even introduce my husband! lol! Hey, shit happens ;-) lmao!

Another thing about the show. The coolest thing happened... YM was throwing picks all over the place, and one hit the guy in the chest sitting in front of me and landed in his lap. Hell, nice delivery! I thought it was pretty cool so I patted the guy on the back and congratulated him. He turned around and handed me the pick. NO WAY! I was so grateful and thought "whoa, what a cool thing to do". I couldn't believe it. Later when I was up at the stage, YM bounced a pick off my chest and it landed right in front of me so I grabbed it. The guys standing around me were all grabbing furiously at the picks, but I got that one. The guy on my right was making a big deal out of me getting a pick and giving me the thumbs up, and I seen a guy behind me looking kind of upset when somebody told him he lost his chance at another pick. This dude had a pick on a chain around his neck, and he looked so sad, so I asked him if he got any picks yet. He said no, so I gave him the one I just got. He just stared at me and said "really?" I reached in my pocket and showed him that I already had one. He put his hand to his chest and thanked me, and the dude was just so in awe. He just kinda stood there not believing that he had a pick. lol! It was sooooo cool, and I was just returning an act of kindness. Some nice guy gave me a pick, so in turn, I gave a pick to some nice guy. It was great. That was also one of the best moments of the night. What comes around, goes around.

Numpty lol I would have never have thought Joe is even in his 40's. He looks more 30-ish to me. His music doesnt sound like it's coming from someone in his 40's either. Joe really keeps it fresh without changing. take Metallica for example: they tried to keep it fresh, but it's not even Metallica anymore. Joe is a living legend who's legend hasnt been diluted by stupid mistakes like how all the other legends, or potential future legends are making today. lol All hail Joe!
