Yngwie was a jerk, really hogged the stage any time he could. It was quite embarassing. Joe/Vai/Petrucci have so much more class its not funny. Review coming up as soon as the site lets me post.

Thanks Joe and Steve! sound guy can stand to turn the volume down a bit though

Joe, I have been as loyal a fan as anyone could be for 13 years now and I was wondering how to get backstage passes to your next show in portland?

HeyJoe~ My name is Russ. I and two friends of mine caught your show in Montreal, Que (the Solar/lunar eclipse period..he he), 11/07/2003. We actually drove from Halifax Nova Scotia which was in total trip miles 2734 to see the G3. What a soul-ful, wonderful experience! I cannot express to you enough how long i have waited (since july 1988) to see you guys!. You three were the ones i deeply dreamed to meet or at least see one day. Thank-you for promoting this show-it has been a dream come true! Thank-you for all the strange beautiful music. Yes i play guitar and enjoy creating music at home(Horizon studios)..small but i can at leat create! May your continuing journey be strange yet beautiful.... Blessings~

I want to build a studio. What's the first component and what is better now. Hard drive recording or ADAT?
Please say Hard Drive. It's cheaper.

Headzo, The Denogginizer, and Son Of Dad for G3!!!

Sorry...that episode of Seinfeld (The Frogger) was on tonight...I completely forgot about the scene where Kramer mentions the above alternative names for The Lopper. Funny stuff.

Hey peeps, Just introducing myself, I signed up as Mr. Wah Wah or something like that when the site was first released but when trying to login about 6months later had forgotten how it was spelt, hehe theres prolly a username of mr wahwah still in the data base. So erm this is my next attempt at signing up with a name that I can remember!

I have been a satriani fan for just under 5 years which is also the equiv. of about how long i've been playing electric guitar. I have been an Unlister for ooh, must be over a year now? I am 19 (just turned it last thurs) and goto university in the UK studying Computer Animation.

Music is very close to my heart and I am forming a band here asap. One of my biggest strengths musically is my compositional skills, they tend to be very melodic and therefore I have taken a lot of inspiration from Joe. I hope one day to return the favour :)

If anyone would like to hear some of my stuff I shall put up a couple mp3's somewhere...

Lastly to finish post i'll just give a wave and say hi to the guys like Shel, Matt King and Megaboyd who I know quite well by now ! :)

OCPS440 - well its difficult to describe the tonal differences but the Jap pedal seems a lot smoother. Yes perhaps the SEM can be quite a lot cleaner but its the smoothness I like like on the MIJ, compared obviously to the Taiwan one which just sounds abrasive. - I can record some sound clips of both if you ever wanted!!

SupaaDave - im sure you won't regret your purchase. Good luck with the bidding!

Spuddle - Look forward to hearing your tunes! make sure you let me know when you have them online - perhaps try IUMA www.IUMA.com - in case you didnt already know it!

Cheers

Olly

fret goblin - how did you find out that you're the best?

did you have a race in Em, three octaves and back...???

Yoda - the reason that I don't belong to that school of thought is two reasons...
firstly: the 4th remains available for suspension

secondly: the notes of the chord stack in 3rds... this being the case you'd chose 11 instead of 4.. this leaves 2, 4 and 6 available for suspensions, aug6 family chords etc... which should mean less confusion..

962 - yup.. I totally know what you mean.. the arm on my Floyd can be fixed, loose or made to swing... it's the nuts.. the next replacement bridge I get will definately be a real Floyd.. the Edge is nice in all respects but for the stupid arm bushes.. I've not had time to mess with it yet as I'm still sorting out the backing track to 21st Century for David.. when I get to cut the guitar solo I'll start messing with the bridge...

in fact, thinking about it, why not cut the solo on Pride [my Strat]....

Phryg - maybe at that moment I had aspell of phantom drunkness...

on the Bm11 thing.. I agree that the 5th and 9th or optional.. but that's only when voicing the chord on an instrument... when spelling the chord all notes must be there...

when it comes to leaving notes out, personally I'd leave out the 5th first.. and then the 3rd [because the tonality of the music will generally imply the 3rd].. so root, 7th, 9th, 11th..would work

Yoda / Phryg - sharpening the 11th makes it a different chord [Bm9 #11] which is resolved from a different scale...
Yoda is right here.. B Lyd gives you a D#[III] and an A#[VII] which will clash against the D[minor 3rd] and A[minor 7th] of the Bm9 add#11

Yoda.. top marks for correct usage of music terminology 'pretty fucking ugly'.. 'cos that's what I reckon

Phryg - now I can't even count from 9 all the way up to 11 and it wasn't even beer o'clock.. so who am I to talk... lol

kell - compound radius?? explain.. this is interesting..
sugarbear - sorry bro but it does matter.. because if you get this wrong you'll be playing what's in your heart... but you'll also be playing out of tune..
Stu M - John sings Exiles...
Do the Stu - your explanation goes to reinforce the old saying the a bassist is a drummer that graduated [but only just]... lol

john petrucci got on stage. That would have been a nice suprise. Although i thought paul gilbert was meant to be joining them onstage in New York.

The DT album is very good btw. Well worth the v.expensive price tag.

crispin and jelly I'm not interested in TOT right now because a) I'm 7 weeks through a 12 week period in which I swore myself off buying cds.

b) I'm not a metal guy, really.

c) IMO the glass prison is quite possible DTs worst song ever, and I don't really like how they seem to think of themselves as more of a heavy metal band now.

Matt, happy pre-250! lol!

Steevlan1, some guy gave me a pick, so I gave another guy my 2nd pick. Hopefully that guy did something nice for somebody else that night :) Random kindness is underrated.

Petrucci in NY - aww man, I would have loved to see that!

Lyz, I feel for ya girl! Hope there's a way to get it back before Christmas *fingers crossed*

anuj, that amazes me. Sheehan is such a killer bass player! I would think he would know volumes of theory.

RUSEL, "We actually drove from Halifax Nova Scotia which was in total trip miles 2734 to see the G3." WHOA!!!! You win the prize for most dedicated fan!! Hope you had some soup along the way! lol!

Invigor, nice pictures! RICH, ya look better with hair bro ;-)
