The Prez - Yeah, totally agree! Best games out there, and they deserve the best music (of course those games already have great music ;) ). See my above post :p.

Sky Ant- I recall someone else mentioning Satch Boogie in PC2 a few months ago, I can't remember who or when. Also, couldn't tell you for sure as I am not a big fan of those movies.

By the way, does anyone here avidly play The Sims(the pc version)? I am looking for a Joe skin, or a working JS model guitar object. I made Joe in the PS2 version of The Sims, but I didn't really like how that game played compared to the PC version.

Got Christian Alsing's album in the mail today, really looking forward to hearing it... does anyone got a fav tune on it?

Austin I thought the Satch tapes giveaway was just that - a giveaway? Do I have to pay for it if I win? Or did I misunderstand your post completely? :)

About drugs... r6rocker You have a few good points and I can agree with you on most of what you're saying. One thing I disagree very strongly with though, is your argument of "if you haven't tried drugs, how do you know they're bad?" I respect those who say that they tried drugs because they wanted to know what they are discussing and if they should be for or against them. But there are people, including myself, who don't have to try drugs to relate to how bad they are. My parents are the best parents in the world, but they are also drug addicts. My situation is/was not nearly as bad as many, many kids in other parts in the world, but my upbringing was still traumatic. Please consider that even if you choose to do drugs for your own sake, your decision could affect other people around you, especially if you're a parent. It makes no difference if you're an alcoholic or a drug addict, you're still not the parent you could or should be. I certainly will never try drugs and I'm very restrictive about alcohol - a result of my upbringing, but it could just as easy have turned out the other way.

Sorry about the rambling, I just felt I had to say something about this. Now go back to your own life. :)

Hello Joe, Hi everyone ! I'm a bit nervous, since this is my first post. I've been a fan for about fifteen years. Everybody in my family likes Joe's music including my two wonderful kids, ages 9 and 4. I've seen Joe five times, but never met him. So many fans, so little time. I have two questions at this point: Question for Joe: do you like Skye Edwards 's voice? ( She is the singer in the band Morcheeba)

If anyone has Michael Landau 's CD called The Star Spangled Banner, please tell me what it is like. (I'm familiar with his other works). Thanks

WELCOME PITCH#8. Happy 1st post

We shold say that to people right?

Tapper5: with a fixed bridge your guitar will stay in tune longer. If you have it floating you can do all that crazy dive bomb shit. so.............. whatever Floats your boat. HA HA

Peace

phrygdom: R6 is a yamaha crotch rocket, last i heard...I think it's the top end one, unless that's the r1 and the r6 is the lower end one...something like that..

Joe: Since you and your sister Carol live in San Fran, do you keep in good touch with eachother? And nice job on being brought up in a catholic school, it explains why you're so darn polite, my mom did the same.

michelle - haha... coffee or no coffee... once I get an idea for something I just kinda go off into these day dreams... images and sound.. in colour... dolby.. 5.1 surround sound.. it's the nuts... all I does is rob the sound track to the movie in my head... lmao.. and the guy that wrote the sound track is in my head too, so if he complains about copyright etc no one can hear him.. lmao

ovation - and at no point did I indicate that arguing with a Samauri would be wise... lol lol.... back in my Goju Ryu days, I recall seeing someone doing a kata with si knives... beautiful..

my old sensei: http://www.otgka.freeuk.com/sensei.htm

I trained under him at the Marble Factory in London... he's quite a guy...

I started laying down the first rhythm guitar track to 21st century... checked it... not tight enough... it must be done again.... no worries.. off I go again... I'll leave it for a while and try again on Monday..

kell - feeler guages... shit.. one great idea after another... I was thinking that if I can find out the radius of the RG and the radius for the LoPro.. I can measure the string spacing on the LoPro for the arc created by the radius... then a little math and I should be able to calculate the difference.. that would mean no shims for the 1st and 6th strings.. little shims for the 2nd and 5th.. and slightly larger ones for the 3rd and 4th...
alternatively I can just guess until it feels good with no fret buzz... lol
mick 87 - The Rape is in writen in three sections..
1st is the that Roman onslaught.. organised.. powerful.. unstoppable.. hence the slowish heavy vibe.. grim determination.. they fight their way into the fortress to the shrine where the women are hiding and praying..
2nd is the quiet section.. the women pray [which is why there is a female choir playing]... in the back ground the bass guitar and bass drum makes the sound of the ram beating on the huge wooden doors..
3rd is where the doors cave in and all chaos breaks loose.. that's where the crazy solo cuts in with the 'cocked wah' over the real heavy riff in Bm.. as the bass line rises listen out for the choir in the background.. it's a small repeating figure to represent the women praying to their gods 'save us'... the track then cuts back into the original theme - this adds musical symmetry and and also shows that nothing can stand in their way.... it's a nice tune I think..

your picture of the Rape is not the same as mine... many artists have dipicted this event..
the picture that I based the Rape on the painting by Jacques Louis David..it is truely stunning.. the detail is just mind blowing

http://www.tigtail.org/TVM/X2/a.NeoClassic/david-jacques-louis/M/david-j-l_sabine_women.jpg

maybe try another listen and look again... see if you get a new movie in your head..

climber - a good 16 track, a pc based sequencer like cubase and a nice keyboard workstation is a powerful combination I've found

BURNS - Joe should be doing a solo tour sometime in 2004.

PhryDom - I'm not an MST3K fan...sorry. ;-)
crispin - Happy 600!
The Prez - I'll definitely see Dream Theater on their upcoming US tour (whenever that may be).
Sky Ant - You are correct about Satch Boogie in Problem Child 2.
dragonchild - The giveaway is a giveaway. Ten people from this site will win free copies of the DVD. The webmaster said something about the first 200 paid preorders (at a site that he hasn't mentioned yet) might be autographed by Joe as well.

If you're asking this question because you saw me post about The Satch Tapes at CD Universe and Amazon, well, it's because I can buy it cheaper through CD Universe than I know I'll be able to through any Sony store. I'll take my chances and try to get my copy autographed the next time I meet Joe.

...Austin...

tapper 5.....you can buy a brand new Epiphone Les Paul Standard for $500 or a Custom for $600.....and they also have an Elite model that goes for $1000+. Yours is probably worth a little less even if it's in unplayed condition. Still a nice playing guitar though, my ELP was my main axe until I picked up an Ibanez.
