you guys want to know what I think about all that Bm7add11 Badd11 and A.D.D. and EsPn...none of it really matters when you play guitar, as long as you play whats in your heart...when I play, I clear my mind, close my eyes, and let the music play itself...
Anyways, on a better note-
I should be doing some recording this weekend, and ill be sure to put some stuff on my website for everyone to hear.
BTW, did anyone listen to whats already on there...the incomplete song...if not its at:

Hey Joe, did you end up using the Hand Sanitizer we gave you with Toni's CD after the G3 Meet and Greet in Toronto?<smile> I have to say, my husband and I really enjoyed the show and it was such an honor to meet yourself, Steve and Billy. My husband and I wanted to just hang out and chat with you guys but we saw how many fans you had to meet and kept our greetings short and sweet. Thanks for the photo OP and Autographs. Your music really gets into a persons soul, Steve's music is inspiring and although I'm not really a Malmsteen fan, I respect how well he plays the guitar and he does know how to stir up the audience whether it be good or bad! Back in the 80's, I was working in my parents record store and was fortunate to have an opportunity to listen to all the mainstream and underground music. Malmsteen had such a dedicated cult following and Steve was well known with other bands and was just starting his solo carreer. We didn't carry your albums at first but everyday we were asked if we were getting any in. At the time, there wasn't much distribution of Satriani albums in Canada, so, my dad used to drive down to buffalo and bring in as many as he could every other week. You had such a cult following then and it's amazing how much more it has flourished since ! Your music had brought me through the rough teenage years and your music always hits a chord inside. My husband Toni is a Teacher/Musician and I can always hear your great influence in his music. When ever there is a music recital, he wows the kids with one of your tunes and its amazing how it inspires the kids to play. It is truly great to see musicians really enjoy what they do and to be down to earth and acknowledge how lucky they are. It inspires many of us with our own careers whether it be in music or not. Enjoy the rest of the tour and all the best to you and your family !
P.S. - if you are ever in town for a couple of days, give us a call (phone # is on Toni's CD), we would love to have you over for a home cooked meal ! Take Care, Andrea & Toni

Sharif, I have heard he's consitered George Lynch, but for some reason it didn't go.
Do The Stu, Joe would probably be using a Marshall, but soemone said he was gettig a signature Peavy amp.
fret goblin 0, welcome back
962, on the Lords of Karma tribute cd, I like Jake E Lee on it, I think he makes that cd what it is with that Surfing tribute.
DAvid Lee Roth recently released another cd, I heard it sucked.
BTW, why has it taken this long for Joe to have a signature amp?

Yoda yeah you're right... I guess beer o'clock had kicked in a little too soon lol..... however (I think) I can see that Bm add11 and B maj7 add #11 (the Lydian chord I meant) are only superficially slightly different... Bm add 11 = B D F# E whereas B maj7 add#11 is B D# F# E#... having said that two v important notes out of five changing = a pretty major (no pun intended lol) change in tonality! Either way, yeah, I'd have sounded pretty awful (nothing new there then lol)... Of course I could just have done a JP and become Mr Chromatic otherwise just let Yngwie try and play over it ROFL!!!!
EDIT: dorian #4 sounds pretty good too! TFT :-)
sorry you're not into this sugarbear, not everyone can close their eyes and make the heavens speak.... but (IMHO) it's not nice to make fun of things just becasue you don't like / approve of / use / understand them.

Deathcube K I read you message about you face being paralized, did you have an accident? I haven't check in for a looong time, anyway, I wish you a very quick recovery man. Sincerely.
I've heard that some of U have recommended the Forgotten Part 2 song, I didn't heard that song cause I've never seen FIABD album in stores (is a bit hard to get Satch music in this town), so I went to USA on a trip and got it. Oh man, that song is really really good, and I've read that Satch is playing it on the G3 tour. Awesome, I hope they record it whereas on CD or DVD, or maybe both.
Regards to all!

Hi Joe,
My name is Frak and I am a huge fan of your music. I came to your G3 show in Atlanta at the Tabernacle on 10/29. Anyway, It has always been a dream of mine to have my guitar signed by my 3 favourite guitar idols namely you, Steve Vai and Malmsteen. I grew up in a 3rd world country with no hope of ever atteneding any of your concerts and when I moved to the US, my hope was rekindled.
However, after waiting outside by the back exit for 2 hours with my buddies, we finally get told that you had left and weren't coming back that night. One of the roadies handed out consolation picks but I still feel like my guitar is still incomplete! I was *so* looking forward to finally realising my childhood dream of having my guitar signed by all 3 of you fulfilled only to be thwarted by your last elusive signiture.
My questions is, if you don't mind me asking. What happened that night and is there anyway I can have you autograph my guitar please? I was almost drove down to Orlando for your Saturday night gig but pulled out at the last minute because I couldnt afford it.
Respectfully,
Frak Nuaimy

nspike ing - vay Just to let you know, though, his real name is Lars.
sugarbear Theory helps you to know what to play. How would you be able to play chordal stuff without eithe a)having the best ear ever or b) knowing through theory how to construct the chords?
clarky Oops, I thought Sheila sang. My mistake. So there's some John Wetton on the 4th album, is there? Now that intests me.

Yeah, if you're playing without theory then you must either be uniquely gifted or are just horrible. This is different from learning your theory and then forgetting it (as Satch says).
Anywho, just finishing up some homework right now...while listening to Dream Theater...and Satriani of course!

What I've heard about the chord notation is that you write it Bm7add11 (but other notations are ok as well depending on school or whatever), and you don't play all of the extensions because (at least in guitar) you can't, can you? you can't play 1-3-5-7-9-11 ---> 7 notes in six strings :) so you decide for yourself which ones you don't play, for example, 9th and 5th maybe or the ones you prefer...
Anyway I'm with sugarbear a little bit... if you play such a chord (which maybe isn't a common one) better chose the notes which you think sound better and forget about notation...
can't think of nothing else to write about...
have fun!

Viking - Yeah I know Pete. Actually, I am the one that didn't shave my head.
962 - Well Joe words things as nice as possible. "...isn't used to jamming with other people...", "...comes in half way through my or Steve's solo..." ... Ha, I asked Joe is he could drive stick. He said he could if he needed to. He said he learned on an old bug. He used to also drive around an old Chevelle that was so rusted out, it had to have the rear supported with rope tied to either rear door. Also, I think his brother in law is a mechanic... or was it his Cousin... or brother... confused now.
