Holy geez man, the wind is WICKED today!! Gusts up to 32 mph, but it feels way stronger than that. It damn near blew my car off the highway a few times. lol! Woohoo! Hold on to your knickers folks! The middle & high schools even left out early today. The power is flickering off & on too. Now where'd I put my lead boots?
SOTD - The Wind Cryed BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES!!
Still have 8 pages to catch up on. By the time I get back here, it will be a few more. Settle down people!

Heh! Without wanting to sound rude, I always find it funny when I watch the local Michigan weather and the forecasters are going nuts over "wind gusts of UP TO 30 MPH!!!!!". Even in the hurrican, it was hilarious when the Weather Channel guy got blown down the street in 50 - 60MPH winds. That's not that bad! In the part of England where I used to live, 60MPH sustained winds were fairly common, and it wasn't unusual to have gusts over 100MPH, and we just walked around and got on with it. Odd how there was hardly ever any structural damage to houses/power lines down, too, in 60MPH winds.
I would class today's winds, of 30-40 MPH with gusts up to 60 MPH, as actually being fairly windy though. It's about the worst it's been in the 3 years I've been here.

Joe, just out of curiosity, why have you started your past 3 tours in Phoenix? I'm sure I speak for all of us here in Phoenix, when you tour by yourself, could you make a stop here? The G3 shows are great, but you have not done an Evening With since 2000. We can not get enough of you on stage.

OCPS470, I saw friedman on guitar evolution & from that show I would rather pick alex or chris to be on g3, both are killer, marty is an excellent player, but doesnt do anything for me, also I was one of the few that did get to check out derek trucks opening for joe, he was pretty nervous, he didnt say one word, or look up more then 3 times, I really didnt care for him to much, but his drummer ruled, joe did mention recently that he thought derek was a great player though...
FRETSLAYER, what is the name of the jennifer batton cd you like?, & dude did you make it to the doppler gig on the 1st? I went out to the city & waited for hours before they told me it was cancelled.....

Phrydom - I used to live in County Durham, a place called Consett, which is several hundred feet above sea level. It was usually bloody freezing there, and the winds were pretty bad. Actually, they were pretty bad all the way into Newcastle sometimes. It wasn't too uncommon for high sided vehicles to be blown over on the bridges and leave the traffic stuck!

ahh (forgive my stereotypicality) why aye man a divvent knaaa etc etc etc (yeah I read too much Viz lol)... my mum has a very good friend in a place called Longframlington (pretty close to Alnwyck(sp) Castle) which I guess is up in that neck o't woods... I drove her & my sister up there a few years back and noticed that all the roads let you do the San Francisco "jumping off the road" thing, but at 25MPH!!!!! Aye it's reet parky up there... and a lovely area too... never been to County Durham though, and I hear in Newcastle it can be a bit rough but the people are still pretty cool. Must get there one day!!!! My heart's in Whitby though... we scattered my Dad's ashes there... an old family fave ;-) so what're you doing over there?

Well, I married an American and logic at the time dictated I move over here. Wouldn't mind us moving over there though, to be honest, but that's homesickness for you.
Anyway, yeah, there's a huge stretch of road where you can do those amazing jumps! I remember we were going up to Jedburgh when I was little and there were loads of these huge rolling hills in the road, and then we came to a little one, so my dad speeded up to go over it, and there was a huge drop down the other side! He took it a bit easier after that....
Ah, Longframlington, Alnwick....all place names I know well, although they were a bit out of my way (been a few times though). Whitby's nice too.
As for being rough, well....I think Newcastle's just got a bad rep. It's true to say that, even on the coldest of winters' days, people will go out wearing nothing more than a shirt and jeans, but other than that it's no rougher than anywhere else. I would say that though, I love the place, that's where MY heart is!

MegaBoyd: The cd I think is called "As above So Below" or something like that, I might be wrong. Kind of an odd cd. I'm more of a fan of her Fretwork than her songs, if that makes any sense. She's pictured with a really cool custom Pianted Ibanez. It's got this Gold Egyptian artwork on it, and Gold hardware/Floyd Rose set up, very nice.
Hey man, I'm on the lookout for some players, I need a bassist, you interested??

I think that Jennifer Batten CD is called Above, Below and Beyond. I've got it. She's really good! I love about half of it, and the rest is impressive playing, with some good to average songs. It's definitely worth picking up.

Joe might not have done any video game music, specifically, but I remember when SEGA brought out that CD add on for the Megadrive/Genesis. There was a promo video for the game "Sewer Shark", and Joe's "Back to Shalla-Bal" was playing throughtout the entire clip. In fact, the clip was edited so that it fit perfectly with the length of the song! At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.

QUITO - well i guess I classify it as a "chick song" because its sort of like aballad in a way. most guys aren't into that. some guys can't appreciate the emotion in a song, its not "macho". It's probably just the men I've encountered maybe?
BLUEBUFFALO9 - I am so glad you said something...he never said the name of the song, but now that you mention the whale sound, you are right! It did have some spots where it sounded like a whale I guess. I thought I was going to have to buy every CD and try and find it. But thanks to you I don't think I will have to do that. Do you know of any other songs he has that are in the same style as that song? And what CD thye might be on? thanks...........

ME AGAIN. QUESTION for anybody that owns a js100 or has the knowledge. The trem system on it? What kind is it.
I have played on it and i dont like it. The trem dosent allow you to bend up that dramaticaly at all maybe 2 tones or so whats up with that? I want to buy that guitar. That red is beautiful;the whole guitar, shit but I dont like the trem. I also dont like the fact that it only has 22 frets I would perfer 24. Can someone please explain to me what can I do? can I exchange the trem to a floyd rose? The cavity isnt even that deep. Thanx
