TRUTINA - I`m pretty cool bro. As you know I´m recording my EP, and I´m boring with new DT record. The third song (Endless Sacrifice), the intro is almoust equal like one of my songs :-). Now, I need to change something on my song :-). Me and Petrucci we have something in common :-)). The world is very small. I have been talking with my producer, and he told me that sometimes these things happen. I wrote this melody ten years ago. In my demo i did all new songs, in my EP i `m trying to record old ideas and a few new ideas.
My producer in times did a version of my song, but the problem is that song is not protected. I can prove that is my song, but i will edit my EP after the new DT record and I should be authentic and original :-). To be a composer is not easy :-)). Regards dear friend, take care ;-) !!
QUITO and 962 - NUNO ROCKS :-))) !!!!!!!
OCPS - Dwezil Zappa is a good chice as well :-))!!

Joe,
Now that the G3 tour is over , I just want to say thanks.
What a great time I had, as I'm sure everyone did.
I have played guitar for many years, and have seen many players over the years, but none that can play the way you do. I think that you( and a very few others) have taken the instrument to a level that a lot of us never thought possible. I'm always kind of awe struck when I see you in concert. Your's and Steve's playing kind of make me want to try a little harder to learn to do new things, but I'm not that nimble anymore. Oh well.
I guess I'll be content to listen. I've already pre-ordered "The Electric Joe " anthology and the Satch Tapes---can't wait to see and hear!
Thanks sooo much,
Steve Marcus

I went to the G3 concert on the 11th at the Beacon Theater in the city...and...it was the MOST AMAZING SHOW I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!!! Thank you Joe for making that night an amazing one...i was blown away by the performances...but i think that Yngwie Malmsteen was way too cocky and flashy for the stage...you and Vai blew him away...Thanks again for a great show! -Rob

I got the email as well. It didn't come from a satriani.com email address, but I wonder if that's the mailing list that was used.
I have a feeling that they used the mailing list at the Epic Records Joe Satriani promo site. Narface, Luke the Duke, and cripsin, have you all signed up at that site?
If the email came from the other site, some people here probably won't see it. So, in order to be fair:
The Satch Tapes
The Electric Joe Satriani: An Anthology
This site says both covers will be autographed while supplies last. The prices aren't as high as I thought they would be, but I already preordered these items. Oh well. Sony needs to get this stuff organized faster next time...they're losing money. ;-)
TASTEY - Yes, Joe is married. His wife's name is Rubina.

Matt Martinez - I think there's one picture of Rubina and ZZ on this site...someone took a picture of Joe in his car, and Rubina and ZZ are there with him. Don't ask me to find it, though. I have no idea where it is.

Hi everyone! :)
I don't know much about this so I thought you people could give me some help on this.
I'm thinking about buying an acoustic/electric guitar. I don't have money so I'll have to start saving, so I was thinking of something relatively cheap (equal or under 200$) Do you have any suggestions? I just saw an Ibanez TCY10 Transparent Blue Sunburst at music123.com for 200$ and I love the looks! And the reviews are quite good too! What do you think? Please help if u can.
Thanks!

Hey everyone, this is Jake_49ers only I changed my name to JS_JS the reason being is that I am not a 49ers fan anymore (due to there horrible and foolish off season dicisions and I don't even live in the area) and my initals are JS and Joe Satriani's initals are JS and I am a JS fan so there you have it

for those who asked for more details on the sony promo for autographed copies of the satch tapes dvd and electric joe satriani anthology album, i have updated the news item on the site to include links to the sony store where you can buy. there doesn't appear to be any way to know if you're among the first, so i leave it to you to decide :}

the prez .. i'm a die-hard vai fan, and i love When I Was A Little Boy - it cracks me up, especially the old school 'scared' mac text-to-speech voice.
Oh, and So Happy is pure genius .. notice the guitar doubling the voice perfectly? (a-la-Zappa, 'jazz discharge party hats')

brennan 77 - yeah , Mr. Beck would be amazing for the next G3, He would balance out the shredding... it would be perfect. But I'm sure that Joe already tried to get him... The only problem is that 40 minutes of him are not nearly enough. And he can play fast too, check out the ending of "Left Hook" from You Had It Coming. I remember seeing Derek Trucks's name being mentioned for G3 , well he's not a fast player either. Mr. Beck' s playing style is so much more than plain shredding... his last three CD's were not even transcribed ( to my knowledge ). Geoff Whitehorn - a guitar tutor at GUITAR TECHNIQUES tried to play "Brush With The Blues" but only got halfway through (february 2002 issue).
Here's a Satch trivia for everyoane : which song from Crystal Planet was written and recorded earlier ?

r6r - maybe I'm a freak of asses due to my nature... lmao..
look out from me at the Den?... who do you support.....????
trutina - the intention for the album is something like this:
as well as the CD the pictures will be in the the inner sleave along with the performance notes for each track..
the website will carry the same information and art work too plus more info about what guitars played what parts on what track etc... also, if there are nice little stories that go with the track [like me writing part of the Rape at the station] I'll sling that on the website too.. I think that it all helps the listener get inside the track... and I'd hope it would take the experience of my music beyond a purely audio one..
also, if I can get it to work out, I'd like to have very nice versions of the pics in a downloadable format on CD along with the music... not sure about that though... depends upon the costs...
If I can, I'll also put the full score to Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit [the guitar quartet] on the website too...
ocps - a bar is not just for Christmas.... it's for going bonkers on...
also I agree with you about Satch... there are many more angles to his music that the shredded parts... in fact there are more angles than the guitar playing alone... his sense for creating lyrical melody is superb.. another sign of a great creative musician is to be able to use some unusual scale types and make them sound very natural when so many others would sould off the wall in the same setting.. it gives the music a subtle twist that is lost on many folks..
shredding is shredding... lots of guys can do it... but there are other kinds of precision... the main theme to Crying.. soulfull, melodically simple.. executed with absolute precision without detriment to the feel... and for all the gymnastics... I personally think that getting Crying 100% down is one of the trickier moments in Satch's catalogue.. interesting that something apparently so simple is such a bitch to play at that resolution.. a sign of true class in my view..
now me... I am a cheeseball finger wiggler... lol.. my take is that if the notes only exist for a milli-second then no one will know if they are good or not... lol
