What happened in atlanta, that none of us had the opportunitie to see you after the concert?
I know that night Yngwe was acting completely crazy that you even told him to slow down.
The concert was great but when the 3 of you were up there the sound was way too loud and I kind of saw with no return on sound whatsoever. BUT you're the master and you made up really well.
Anyways, we waited for you until 4 o'clock in the freezing morning. When we will have the pleasure to see you again in Atlanta or in Sao Paulo Brasil????
My best regard to the master
Rodolfo

Are there going to be any more pictures added from the tour? How about ones from the shows sent in by the fans? On the last tour there was a place in the "road" section for pictures from each tour date. Not happening this time? Just wondering since the picture section seems a little anorexic this time around.

slick...this tune is pretty cool - I must say though, it sounds like more of a jam than anything? Kinda like joe was trying out the new amps!? There are a few parts that I absolutely love!

Narface - LOL...I like that one. Have you heard the Lars Olafsen / Sam Ting joke? You can find it about halfway down this page.
Artanis I - That's a good explanation...it's kinda what I was getting at, but I didn't want to write a whole big thing. ;-)
Looking at Joe's words carefully, it looks like G3 will be two CDs and one DVD. Two CDs of music can easily fit on one DVD. If it was going to be two DVDs, there would be a lot of extra space to fill...which would mean we would get either a million different soundtrack options or the complete concert. I don't think we'll get the complete concert on DVD if we don't get it on CD, because I imagine the set lists for both will be fairly similar. Of course, this is all speculation on my part...
guitarnut777 - There are a few computer programs that will slow down songs. Do a Google search...I'm sure you can find a free one.
UF Dean - Yeah, I remember you mentioning that joke...it's a good one.
juju808 - Did you hear about the dyslexic satanist who sold his soul to...SANTA? ;-) I'll explain the "four is cosmic" thing tomorrow...I'm too tired to write out the entire explanation now.
Dorfao - Joe usually tries to visit with the fans after every gig...you must have caught him on an "off" night. Maybe he was tired or had a tight schedule.

It's 11/18 now (and MegaBoyd and Matt have already broken the ice), so here are my comments about Slick:
I absolutely love it. I think it's better than two or three songs on SBM. If I had my way, I would have put this song on the album instead of The Journey. I think it would fit nicely into the overall flow of the album at that point.
It seems that fans will always like "unreleased" or "rare" songs, even if they aren't musically as good as the rest of an artist's work. I think Slick is a better song than The Journey. Slick would fit better on SBM, and because The Journey is a weaker song (IMHO) I think it would benefit more from the "Hey! This is unreleased, so I like it!" phenomenon.
I see this song as a modern Satch Boogie. Both songs have a similar driving rhythm, but Joe's playing on Slick is much smoother and more "relaxed" (this is the wrong word, but I can't think of a better one) than the all-out jamming on Satch Boogie. That's not a negative comment about Satch Boogie, by the way...I'm just trying to show how Slick differs from it. I can hear 15 years of improvement between the two songs.
Slick would sound AWESOME in a live setting, and I think it would have been cool to play this song on the G3 2003 tour instead of Satch Boogie. Slick would work great in an opening or closing spot.
I get a weird feeling when I listen to the song because it no longer fades out after the first 30 seconds. ;-) Seriously, though, I still think the song is too short. Joe plays a VERY cool riff at 3:04, and stays with it until the song fades out at 3:43. I think it would be cool to hear this bit extended for another minute or two...I think it could turn into a great jam. I think it would then be cool for Joe to go back to the "chorus" part of the song for the ending...or maybe even go from the "chorus" to the "verse" section, and end the song with the intro.
I'm glad Slick is on the "Essential" JS album. I'd still want this song on the album (as an essential Joe Satriani track) even if it was available to us previously.
What does everyone else think about the song? Post your opinions whenever you're able to hear it.
For those who are wondering: Yes, I downloaded the song. ;-) I also preordered a copy of the album...it'll be here soon.
...Austin...

OCPS40 - I'll try and do you those recordings asap!!
Anyone ever done a cover of FIABD - I always wanted to hear if its possible for anyone to come anywhere near Joe on that one? Anyone think they are up to the challenge? Matt king? Aarren? anyone?
Whoever was askign about using software to slow down without changing the pitch - yes you can do that with several prgs but the quality reduces dramtically - PowerTab or better still Guuitar Pro helps out enormously for slowing stuff down and hearing the notes used in fast passages.
Zachary! - Hows it goin man? I see you have loads of interest in your trembolt already! :)

Artanis, I played those tabs you have posted, and they sounded horrible! Besides, there's one string missing...
UF Dean, there are a few ways to say "really cool" in Portuguese... "Muito legal" would be a classic slang... "Muito maneiro" would be better suited for Rio... And "muito sinistro" would be a current slang among teenagers, I think (I'm not really up to date when it comes to slang)... But, wait, why am I talking to you in English?
Ga6o, nice job, dude!

Let us all prey that Joe includes "WAR" on the new DVD.
This is one of my favourite songs but I have never heard Joe play it live in the 7 times I have seen him. It has one of the most amazing solos in all history!
Hopefully there will be a few different songs to "live in san francisco" so we can have even more of Joe's repertoire to watch.

The comments re Joe attributed to Gary Moore are ancient history. They are from a time when Gary's stock as one of say the top five metal guitarists (at least in the UK) was dropping dramatically. The EVH era was on the wane, technically superior guitaring (scales technique etc) was on the rise and so a gut player like Gary was being left in the dust. As a result he was a little shall we say peeved and took it out on the "new breed" Not long after this Gary made his famous, and spectacular I might add, switch to a blues rock style. It was not a difficult transfer coz Gary's passionate style was always tied up in the blues anyway. I am sure Gary has mellowed somewhat and would now be willing if asked to provide his true feelings for some of his peers and superiors.
I have always admired gary's willingness to move in different directions always maintaining passion and fire in his playing, sometimes to the detriment of his popularity. Steve Vai should enquire about allowing gary to do an instrumental album on Favored nations showcasing his talents over a number of different styles. I would line up for that release.
Cheers all. Just back from a fantastic week in Costa Rica! What a place, if you are considering a trip somewhere, I could not recomment a destination more highly!!!!
