Man, I'm so pissed! That's angry pissed, not liquered up pissed. I just went to Best Buy and Circuit City looking for Joe's cd & DVD & neither place had them. I waited for this guy to "check in the back" for over a half an hour. All he could tell me was that they have about 80 boxes to unpack. What! Let's get crackin there buddy! My Satch cd is sitting in there somewhere! They only have 7 in stock, and he said it might take them a friggin' week to get to them. GRRRR! To piss me off even more, he kept pronouncing Satriani wrong on his walkie-talkie thing to the guy in the back. HOW F'IN HARD IS IT!!! They have no problem pronouncing any other name. The girl at Circuit City just looked at me and said "uh, I didn't see it", then flipped through 2 pages in a book and told me they don't have it. I checked the shelves where it should have been at both places. No good. I remember I had to get a guy to get C.P. out of the "back" at Best Buy the day it came out. I don't usually get so angry when stuff like this happens, and I wasn't angry towards either salesperson, but I hate that they know all the pop crap and look at me like I'm an ALIEN when I ask for Joe Satriani. lol! Alien...Joe Satriani...that was just dumb. LOL!!! O.k., I got that off my chest. I feel better. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Gabriel Rivas very nice and clean cover of Cliffs of Dover - my band and I screw around with it sometimes except that they like to play it faster - easy for them, impossible for me hehe. Also I never took the time to learn it note for note...during the faster passages I play my own thing in the same key...one day I'll get around to learning it all and posting it here. Keep it up!

Hey Joe... Glad to hear of the recent G-3 success! If you can get Edward Van Halen (If he'd do it...) for the next gig it would be wonderful. Perhaps if you and Steve gig through Canada on the next G-3 tour, ask Framk Marino (Mahogany Rush) to sit in on a couple of shows. He is still in top form, judging from his most recent release. At any rate, your music has been a great inspiration upon my own, along with guys like Edward Van Halen, Eric Johnson, Frank Marino and Robin Trower. God bless and have a peaceful holiday, filled with genuine inspiration... tetra ... zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Michelle- I feel your pain... I went to Best Buy this morning found the cd but then had to pull teeth to have somebody help with the dvd, after 15 minutes of them picking their nose they offer me the vhs... argh... so off I go to Circuit City and this chick screwed her face up and was like, no I have never heard of that... the worst though, I went to Guitar Center and this guy asked me "what" & "who" like 10 times and so I tried to explain, you know Joe Satriani... he said "who?" So I turned around and walked out! Found it at this little used cd place called Second Spin... I asked them if they had it, and the guy was like duh, of course we do... try something like that....

Hope all the rest of you have much better luck!

Same deal. iwent to Best Buy and Media Play. neither of them had it in today.... I was pissed....I'll probably have to go to Virgin and pay four more bucks for the thing, but at least they'll have it. I did get The Two Towers Extended edition, and Michael Jacksons number 1 hits......

hey I got to come home early cause of the flooding! I love it when that happens. Does anyone know where I can find Joe Satriani lyrics? If you do then please let me know. I had another question but I forgot, I will probably think of it later.

I didn't know that the G3 tour was over until I got my newsletter yesterday... why did the tour completely skip over Texas/Louisiana/Oklahoma/etc.? The closest the tour came to me was Colorado, and I live in Dallas. I was hoping that the tour dates would keep extending and that eventually the southern central portion of the country would be somewhere in there, but no such luck. Thanks guys!

hehehe, Narface, and anyone else who's confused about my Orange comment - David Dickinson hosts a crappy day-time TV show here in the UK, and is famed for his bright orange fake-sun-tan that he always wears. So yeah, he's an Orange Freak! hehe

Mm, just Got Train Of Thought. It rocks, and I've only heard 2 and a half minutes of it so far!
juju, no pulp for me.........I like my O-J nice and smooth, unsweetened, preferrably fresh, with 40-or-so mml of Malibu mixed with it for good measure. But that's just in the evening - I couldn't handle Rum and Orange with my bagel at breakfast!!

pulp-1; no pulp-2

Ga60, Cliffs Of Dover is damn good dude! I had to stream it on Real Audio cuz of my poor connection, but it sounds sweet. The intro-2nd intro is interesting - I'd guess you did in two parts? Yeah, very good cover, I have utmost respect for you! Your Tone is pretty damn good too.......did you use a Strat?
"The Infinite Steve Vai an anthology" has the most half-assed cover I've seen! Every one of Steve's records has a cool cover, even the photographic art of Alive In An Ultra World, then this just gets an ancient photo of him with his shirt off? And what does that tell us?

Speaking of artwork, how awesome is the artwork in Train Of Thought?

Quito, Vai says he didn't sing anything on S&R, which is why "Love Blood" was left off the record.
The Live At The Astoria DVD looks f*ck*n awesome! YEAH! I can't wait, 3.5 hours of stuff to watch through, this is going to be so cool (it'd better be anyway! hehe).

HI Guys THanks Ovation and Do the Stu

what can i say joe is just so amazing so it is extremely difficult to pick fav song without having a serious think about it. Maybe ill get back with that soon.

Im still devestated that they cant organse G3 to head down here. It really sucks you know. You guys in the states get these guys touring maybe every year i guess. We dont get to see joe or steve for like 6 or 8 years if that. Anyway, enough bitchin and whining. This place looks pretty cool with lots of posts happening huh !

post again soon. cheers

joe ~ i'm kickin' myself in the ass big time... i had the ticketmaster page up with a front row seat to the KC show - i had some family obligations and decided against going - now you're releasing part of it on an upcoming DVD!!? dammit! i was at the minneapolis show you filmed way back when - man, i'm just bummed now. i hope it really sucked and your fingers cramped up - LOL.

anyways, best buy is always behind on getting stuff to the shelf. i've taken one too many "cross town" trips to BB on my lunch hour only to find out that the hendrix, doors, or satriani CD i wanted "must still be boxed up in the back - but here's a truckload of britney spears CD's if you're interested". some people just don't have their priorities straight.

Hey I go once in a while, there was one i went to, only bring around 20 bucks usually, never buy much, usually just a bunch of junk. I walked in this music place inside, see Judas Priest t-shirts, so I was looking around, not expecting to find anything much, this guy who runs it asks me what i'm looking for. I said "Satch and Vai" expecting him to not have anything. Man, he had these awesome posters, the extremist and time machine for only 4 bucks each! Steve Vai Eat em and smile and Skyscraper for only 15 bucks! Had neat t-shirts too. Like a oasis in a desert.

There is finally a new .mp3 at my IUMA. The track's called 'Nothing' and it's taken from my band's gig last Wednesday night. Hence the sloppiness in the solo...

Enjoy!

50 posts took me like 3 years, I've had a couple where Joe actually replied to my questions. anyway have you noticed that Secret Prayer and The Traveler are just incredible cruisin tunes. I have my player on repeat for The Traveler. It's just a great tune. You can almost feel Joe just tipping his head back and playing his leads.
