To just ask who is the greatest drummer is not enough.. There are so many different styles of drumming. For me the best "simple" rock drummer is Brian Downey of Thin Lizzy, extremely underrated. Best rock solo drummer, Neil Peart without a doubt although there's this dude on a Yanni Video I saw, live at the oympia or something like that who was very very good, I am not kidding about this!!! He had a smoking female electric violinist as well.. Most exciting drummer to watch though was Keith Moon
Tasty that was Tommy Aldridge, another fabulous drummer along with Simon Phillips.

Tastey, no, he's half idiot, half asshole! lmao!!! He can be a really nice guy when he wants to be, but these days it takes to much energy for him to achieve it. He started his "own buisness" because he couldn't seem to hold a job with anybody else. This way he can work when he needs money, and slack when he feels like it. This worked for him for a few years till my sister got sick of it. Between his lack of working and his repeated dirt bike accidents that put him out of work and even in the hospital (and he's on HER medical insurance) , my sis has finally had enough. He was having all the fun, and she was doing all the work. She stopped paying all the bills (she works 10 - 12 hr. days 5 - 6 days a week) and told him it was time for him to be the man. Welp, they turned the phone off, I'm not sure what else, and they almost got their house taken for back taxes (he said he paid them with the $$ his mom gave him the year before, but instead bought new riding leathers). He borrowed money from his parents a second time, and paid the bill the day before they were going to take it from them. Between his dope smokin' & beer drinkin' laziness, he's gained about 30 lbs. in the last 3 years. He always had a nice athletic build. My sis & her 13 year old are going to be moving out as soon as she saves up enough money to make it on her own. They've been together for almost 20 years... I really hope you and your husband can work it out.
Greatest drummer of all time? Well, I don't know all the drummers who've ever drummed, but a few of my favs are Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, John Bonham (sp?), Billy Cobham, Jeff Campitelli (hey, it's my choice, right!) - man, there are so many greats...
Mikey, thanks for the clip of the 4 yr. old drummer. Very cool! I loved the way he was singing Zoot Suit Riot too! lmao!!

Ahh~ It's the guitar pick poll again!
I still remember I used to use my self made brass pick back then. 0.7mm
But now, I'm using the blue Ibanez classic (heavy) I love it!
Maybe when I feel like playing something heavier again, I'll use my brass pick again. Oh, actually, I just remembered, I bought a stainless steel pick as well as a titanium pick! Yup, I luv metal picks!! Haha~

Oh, man - I just practiced for seven hours straight in preparation for my exam tomorrow morning. I'd still be going if it wasn't for the fact that my hand feels like it's about to fall off... :-/
