Well it is nice to see some familiar nicknames on the list of winners this time..........the "Backstage Bandit" strikes again !!!
Joe's "Satch" nickname comes from his last name, maybe you should ask him WHO gave it to him instead of asking the obvious.

I agree with you Crushingday, so they've caught Saddam... now he has to wait for all that Community service they're gunna throw at him, judging by how justice works over here that should be about 30 hours! :)

death cube K the whole point is there shudnt b a dictatership!!!!!! the US an UK are trying to give them 'an independent ,sovriegn state' which can happen. however the embasy is in the wrong place thats all that im saying.
my point wasnt about sadams well being it was about using sadams discovery as a front to cover up all the mistakes. this war was started to find weapons of mass distruction.......................still waiting!!!

crushingday62 i hear ya, what i am trying to say is ... a free state come on get real , the whole war was about oil, its about freeing the oil thats about it! never about anything else, thats why they left osama alone to get some oil, have you heard that the U.S. congress has blocked research in the hydrogen car, hmmmm i wonder why , oh wait oil then becomes worthless. its all about lining the pockets of the few rich people that control the world... sorry about my rant !!

joke for you....how did they capture saddam? they got him in a buy one get one free sale at Tesco's :P
in case you dont get it...all the rumours of lookalikes..clones..whatever they're called...

Ovation1 --- Hey, thanks for the video! I've got to check and see if I can get any of his CDs here in the US, his music is really starting to grow on me. :) By the way, who was that guy he was playing with?
Today has been a strange mix of pleasure and pain. I can sum up the 'pain' part in one word...'snow'! Not the soft, pretty powdery stuff that Karen and her gang made Frosty out of...I mean the sludgy brown kind that makes any travel like driving across the surface of Mars and turns to ice tonight when I have to make the trek to work. It's the only kind of snow Baltimore seems to see anymore...that is, unless we get piled up in nineteen feet of it, then it's powdery. By then you're no longer concerned with making snowmen, you're concerned with making a way OUT! Only December 14, and the weather just can't wait to turn nasty over here. I don't know about the rest of my east coast lackies, but me personally, I'm really beginning to hate this stuff. :(
Fortunately, there's a flip side to every coin...
Was really happy to wake up and find that Saddam Hussein had been captured...alive in of all possible conditions, and being treated fairly well all things considering. Maybe now the violence will die down a little bit over there and we can start bringing the boys home in time for the holidays instead of leaving them over there to be used for target practice. I have a couple friends and relatives over there myself.
In addition, my cold seems to have all but dissipated. Thanks to all who sent get well wishes. :) But this coughing and chest congestion always seems to hang on like a bad dream. Time for some more Satchitussin... :)
Was also happy to learn I was one of the winners of the Anthology CD. :) I didn't even realize it until I began reading the messages this morning, thanks for the info, peeps. Serves me right for not checking the front page more often, hee hee. :) Already sent my confirmation E-mail to verify my mailing address... Thanks to everyone who offered congrats, and very special thanks to the webmaster and Joe and the rest of the crew for making it possible. :)
Gotta run, good people. Gotta go dig out the snow shovel then dig out a path. Take care...

First of all I'd like to say ,well I'm sure Mr. Satriani has heard it all before, you are the best. I remember sitting up late one night in october of 89 listening to 97.3fm and hearing the title track to surfing with the alien. I said to myself "A breath of musical fresh air". Who is this guy? The next day I went out and bought your record (yes back then they still had records) and promptly wore the album out listening to it. The rest as they say is history.
You are the reason I started playing guitar again after a 15 year hiatus.
I'm new to this site and I was wondering if you could please tell me where I could find out about the gear you use
(i.e.effects,amps guitar setup) I would appreciate it

Wow...we got Saddam! This is probably another one of those big things where everyone will remember how they heard the news. How did I first hear about it? I read ovation1's post! LOL... Thanks for the news, Mike. ;-) Looking back years from now, some people will say they saw it on television and others will say they heard it on the radio. I read it on a message board...hehe.
I'm always interested in finding out what these people have with them when they're captured. Saddam had $750,000 in US funds. When his sons were captured a few months ago, troops found them in a room full of Pepsi drinks and Mars candy bars. These guys hate everything about our country, but they have no problem with using our money or eating food from our country.
Saddam's trial is going to be very important. I hope we don't screw it up. I shouldn't even have to say that, but our country has made some pretty dumb decisions lately. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
Thanks for the Happy 1.6Ks, everyone.
The webmaster made a typo. MegaBoyd didn't win...I won. ;-) Haha... Seriously, though, congrats to One With The Computer, MegaBoyd, and Lyz. It's always nice to see T2Jers win these contests.
death cube K - I saw this tshirt a few years ago with a comic strip on the front. The title was something like "What are computers good for?"... Each box of the comic strip contained a computer running a different OS (Linux, Mac OS, Windows, etc.). I forget what the first few boxes said, but the punchline was in the last two. It said "Macintosh - Everything" and "Windows - Solitaire"... :-)
962 - Yeah, you can get The Electromagnets for $9 at CD Universe. I thought you already had it...shame on you! ;-)
Dream Theater's website is supposed to be in black and white. It goes along with their album artwork, but I still think it's annoying.
Master Yoda - Where'd you hear the G3 rumor?
drifter no3 - Welcome to the site. I can't help with your question, but I'm sure someone else can.

Congratulations to Lyz, MegaBoyd and One With The Computer... Congratulations to all other anthology winners, whoever you may be...
Louis Armstrong was called "Satchmo", which comes from "Satchel Mouth", because he had a considerably big mouth. Some called him just "Satch", which probably has inspired someone who was too lazy to pronounce "Satriani" to call Joe this way...
mischievous, get well soon so we can discuss web design again, ok? :-P
Uf Dean, voce ainda nao me mandou aquele seu texto sobre a "good neighbor policy" :-/
It's official... Rush will be touring North America and Europe in 2004, to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary... So all you canadian, american and european fellows, don't miss it!
Who would ever think it would be easier to find Saddam Hussein than to find his huge arsenal of weapons of mass destruction, huh?

mr nick - when listening to new music.. be very open to it.. don't worry about if it's cool or fashionable.. just take it for what it is and try to find something interesting or unusual in it.. then figure out how it works... them experiment and mess with it.. This year, in addition to my normal listening [nasty metal and orchestral stuff] I've been checking out traditional Irish music, English folk, traditional and modern music from Okinawa, Zulu vocal music, fusion jazz, bebop, progressive rock from the early 70's, and the list goes on...
not only is variety is the spice of life..
...it is horizon broadening stuff
jelly man - aahh the Russian 'big 5'.. some increadible music poured out of those guys... Borodin was a fave of mine... it looks to me as though you'll learn a great deal when you get into these new subjects.. the real thing to keep close to though is never forget that you are a creative musician in your own right.. obviously stay focused on passing your finals.. but also think "how can I apply any of this"...
and it's exactly this that made me write the way I do..
learn by great example and bend it to express your own voice of creativity...
Ovation - I have heard that you can get ProTools of varying capabilities.. kinda base versions up to 'all bells and whistles' versions... the cheap ones start at quite a few grand...
one day... it will be mine... lol
OCPS - 40 open and mixable tracks??... shit... I need something like that... totally jealous..
Crushingday - my main chat up line never works either..
"fancy going halves on a bastard?"
T2J CD - here's an interesting parallel.. almost some kind of fate [if there is such a thing...
My track - Our Blood On Their Hands - was created as the US and UK forces went in to Iraq to dismantle the Saddam and his mafia....
The track will be released and out on sale as he goes on trial for his crimes...
spooky stuff...
