My favorite drummer(s) : Mitch Mitchell......Keith Moon....John Bonham. I could'nt possibly single out one as the best.
My neighbor left a dozen picks on my doorstep for me. I don't know who makes them but they're great. They are "heavies" and they have a gritty, sandpaper-like coating on both sides where your fingers would rest. Zero slipping....total control...
Michelle...I wish your sister the best of luck. Sometimes starting over is the best route.

Ouch...did anyone hear about what happened to Ozzy Osbourne? I just heard a blurb on the radio...apparently he was riding a quad and fell off. He just got out of emergency surgery, where they fixed some broken ribs and straightened out his collarbone.
I can't remember if I posted about this here or not, but my cool pair of heaphones died about three weeks ago. I bought the crappiest pair of headphones in the world for $10 as a short-term replacement.
I went to Amazon a few days ago and bought this awesome pair of headphones for about $35. I got them from UPS today. They sound great, and I recommend them to everyone. They're monitor-style headphones (sorta), but they aren't designed for that purpose...does that make sense? The overall volume is very loud, yet everything is crystal clear. The bass is VERY full as well. They rock. Both an 1/8" and 1/4" jack is included.
RDG - Congrats on the LA Music Award. I posted something here a day or two after you won, but I guess you didn't see it. ;-)
It's cool to see that you're doing another gig at the Whisky...I'd love to go, but I go home (Sacramento) on the 19th. Oh well.
Ya Yo Gakk - I read a really cool article about that violin earlier today...I think it was on CNN.
mick87 - I love The Electromagnets' album. I haven't listened to it in a whlie, though...maybe I'll give it a spin later this week.
TASTEY - Love Thing and Friends sound great on LISF. I find it interesting that you like the TM version of Rubina more than the LISF version, though. A lot of people here think Rubina is the best song on LISF.
I agree with you about Until We Say Goodbye. I think the Engines Of Creation version is great (although I like the Additional Creations version much more), but the song doesn't do much for me in a live setting.
fused9 - It's hard to pick the "best" drummer. I've always liked Joey Kramer's drumming for Aerosmith...it's simple, but he does what he needs to do. Neil Peart, John Bonham, Mike Portnoy, and Carter Beauford are at the top of my "awesome" list, I guess. But, as other people have said, there are really so many different kinds of drummers. I like most of the drummers that people here have already mentioned.
One With The Computer - I'd love to hear you do Driving At Night.
EDIT - I forgot to make "this" a link...LOL.

Mischievis- hehehe lol, I know I probably have the spelling wrong again :)
Gotta joke for ya all
There was this man who wanted to get his daughter a parrot for Christmas. So he went to the pet shop and asked the clerk where the parrots are. So the clerk took the man and showed all the parrots they had. The man was not impressed. So the clerk goes to one more and says This is no ordinary parrot, this parrot can sing. The clerk lit a match and put it under the parrot’s left foot, and then it started singing Jingle Bells. The man asked, what if you light a match under his right foot? So the Clerk took a match and lit it under the parrot’s right foot, and it started singing Silent Night. Then the man asked well, what if you light a match under his balls? So the clerk lit a match under the parrot’s balls and he started singing – Chest Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire
Good day to all

Austin: OMG!! This is sooo cool... Just as I was reading thru your post about Until We Say Goodbye, the LISF version started playing on my computer! And then I checked out the headphones that you got... yup, I have them as well! I love them! They sound wonderful... crystal clear with good bass, like you said. I've had mine for at least 3 yrs now, so expect them to last a long time! Yeah, the 2 different sized plugs with the screw-on is really handy at times. And they are friggin loud! It's comfy and blocks outside noise too. I find it really nice when I need to do some 'detailed listening' either for mixing or tabbing... they're just great stuff!

Oh hell, I forgot Carter Beauford! I'm not a big DMB fan, but I love the trippy vibe and timing of all of his songs.
SupaaDave, thanks. It's getting pretty ugly these days at my sis's. She got so mad at him one day she waited for him to come in for dinner and when he came in the door, she put his plate of food in the dogs dish. LOL! Now she only cooks for her & her daughter. She's a strong girl. She'll be much happier on her own.
YaYo, last night I ordered Live In Astoria for my husband for Christmas. Let me know how you like it. I hope he's getting me The Satch Tapes on DVD. lol! Hope your feeling better. Whiskey helps. lol!

Mikesb: "tear along dotted line" haha that is hilarious...btw, do your licenses have that written on them?!?
Greg M / Jelly Man: dude...your printf won't work properly because you omitted the semicolon at the end of the line. #1 error in C programming.
Austin: I saw the headline when I logged out of hotmail. All I can say is this: "will anyone notice any difference?"
Ringo was crap. I can't believe I used to think he was great. For a good drum song, listen to "Home" by Sevendust. The drummer is Morgan Rose. Keep in mind that by "good" I don't mean "fast" or "tricky"...

Solid. Hihats loose and only on crochets. Perfect timing using this method requires more skill than it seems.
That was the bar leading into the "I'm home...leave it to me" refrain followed by the main beat used in the song. Chunky stuff.
Alright, that took far longer than I'd hoped so I'm going to disappear now, catch you all later. BEN

I'm doing homework now, but...
My suitemates were arguing LOUDLY earlier tonight (once again...hehe). One of them said the following:
"Shut the f-ck up! I'm going to nail your f-ckin' forehead to the wall."
Just a moment ago I read one of the longest sentences I've ever seen, taken from a US Supreme Court case:
"In Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. v. FCC, 512 U.S. 622 (Turner), this Court held these so called 'must carry' provisions to be subject to intermediate First Amendment scrutiny under United States v. O'Brien, 391 U.S. 367, 377 , whereby a content neutral regulation will be sustained if it advances important governmental interests unrelated to the suppression of free speech and does not burden substantially more speech than necessary to further those interests."
I don't know...I just find it funny that in a matter of minutes I was exposed to both the most primitive use and the most complex use of the English language.
Anyway...it's time to get back to work.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Ozzy Osbourne was seriously injured Monday in an accident while riding an all-terrain vehicle on the grounds of his British estate, according to Cindy Guagenti, a publicist for the heavy metal legend.
Guagenti said Osbourne underwent emergency surgery after breaking his collarbone, six ribs and a vertebra in his neck.
She said the operation was necessary to "lift the collarbone, which is believed to be resting on a major artery interrupting blood flow to his arm."
Guagenti also said doctors were attempting to stop "some bleeding into his lungs," but she said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
