michelle Happy 1000! It seems I was the final member of the exclusive geeky sexist male T2J1K club.

crushing day that place is a symbol of dictatership, hatred and fear for the iraqi people Is there anymore justification needed for going into Iraq? Quite apart from the 300000 people in mass graves and 250000 others "missing" (oh yes and a lot of the mass graves were fresh - he'd been killing people right up to the end), the millions more living in fear and in starvation, added to the fact that he'd broken just about every resolution which we'd set after the first gulf war, all of which said, "If you break these conditions, we will invade you", do you really need any more justification for going to war? As for the weapons, three things; One, the inspectors were certain in 1998 that Saddam had lots of weapons left but they gave up trying because he was frustrating their efforts too well. When this year we asked if he had a shred of evidence that he had destroyed any of these, he showed none. Two, at their latest post war report, the inspectors had inspected 10 yes TEN sites out of 130 that's ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY which were identified before the war as possible wmd sites. Three, since December 1999 Iraq was able to sell as much oil as it damn well liked as long as the money wasn't used to further Saddam's military powers outside of what was allowed by the UN (and I got that off the UN website so don't question my sources). However, Saddam continued to smuggle oil out of the country in vast quantities, which we could only assume was being used to buy illegal weapons. And just to inform you on the oil front, although oil is one of the most freely flowing commodities in the world, if you look to Libya you'll find US oil companies such as Chevron in there, but they can hardly do anything because although there are no international sanctions, the US has imposed its own sanctions on its own companies because it (quite rightly) disapproves of the regime. Of course, Libya was recently head of human rights at the UN, so that shows you what a screwed up body the UN is. Of all the people who say, "the war is about oil" no one has been able to explain to me how they think mounting a costly war will get oil money out of Iraq and into George Bush's pocket. The only person who gave me any sort of explanation said that invading Iraq because of oil was good, because we should invade so that the world's craziest dictator wasn't in charge of such a vast resource. And just to round off, if you say that George Bush is a stupid president, slap yourself right now. He's not stupid, you are for not thinking for yourself. He is quite plainly not stupid. In my personal opinion, anyone who can sits around intellectually posturing about pacifism, politics and stupid arguments while people are dying is a sick sick person, or just plain thick, but that would indite a whole lot of people in this country (namely the whole anti war lobby). The people who fall most guilty of this are France and Germany for trying to gain power against America and get more power for themselves in a separate, European force by going against the war, hoping to split the NATO countries. They were using the long suffering people of Iraq to their own ends. Just becase you don't see much on the news anymore about Afghanistan doesn't mean there isn't stuff going on there. In fact, there's plenty going on there, but you may not have noticed if you only read the headlines, because they tell you about some war they're having in Iraq (you may have noticed this one?) Just now they're sending MORE troops out ot Afghanistan. And if you want to know why America didn't invade Iraq earlier, well after Bush Snr went out, they got in Clinton who much preferred to send a few cruise missiles at anything or anyone deemed to be a threat than

to actually go and chase it/him (a good example would be Osama Bin Laden). Then when they got a new president in who could be bothered to act on anything, a few planes directed by the very same Mr Bin Laden flew into some tall buildings, which gave us the Afghanistan issue which needed some sort of action first.

Person of the day: whoever captured Saddam.

Message is in two parts because it was too long for one message.

Oh yes, and congratulations to the anthology winners.

Boyd I heard some clips of Bodysong, they sound quite different but like they would make a good film soundtrack, which of course is what they are. I just bought the I Might Be Wrong Radiohead live album yesterday. Do you have it? Its pretty good, and interesting to see how they do all the electronic Kid A stuff live with more real instruments.

I am very happy they got Sadaam... Forget about WOMD, there are none... There might be some vats and tanks of chemicals but Iraq have no weapons to deliver the poison.. UN inspectors were telling the truth, the whole WOMD story was a ruse to justify the invasion....

Remember this time last year we were all so excited to see what Ibanez is going to show us at NAMM?? Yep, it's the exciting time of the year again! So far, we've heard of Joe's, Steve's, Paul's and Andy's new signature models coming. There are also 2 J-customs being released (RG8570M & RG8520), a prestige RG2770FM, AR300, RG2571EX, AK85DVS and a Tube Screamer TS808 stomp box. Of course, not all are available to you. It depends where you are. I'm also expecting Ibanez will be doing something to its S series this year as it does seem a weak lineup for 2003. By that, I mean limited models, colors and inferior hardware. But the main thing for this year's S series is the ZR trem. That's why they had to cut back on nicer hardware such as the pickups and neck. I hope this year's S will have better necks and better pickups. I wonder if the ZR trem will ever be found on the RG series. The wait continues....

Edit: I also think the new models that came out this year in the US will be available to other countries as well. (Artcore, Artstar & Jetking)

alexandrecaetano: Thank's for the info on Gonçalo' video, yeah, it looked very difficult and he was flying on the fretboard, lol, I imagine Mr. Carlos Paredes must be proud of him!!.... I am sorry to hear Carlos has an illness :-( and hope he get's well soon!!.... I found a few mp3 from him, and he is amazing!!.... A national treasure!!.... Someday I would love to visit and meet you and tour the G-SPOT studio!!.... That would ROCK to meet you and Gonçalo!!.... Oh, and you can email me @: okinawarocks@yahoo.com Thank's my friend!! :-)

michelle: hehe, that's the advantage of being half a day ahead, lol, we can see when the dodo is actually coming down the hill, lol, and I laughed at your SOTD!! ;-)

Congrats Kirk, Lyz & MegaBoyd!! (and everyone else)!! Nice Xmas Present, eh!! :-)

Narface: I've heard of Tackey & Tsubasa..... I will go no further, lol, they are alway's on the music show's..... It's all about looks and no talent over here ;-).... Thank's for the congrat's, and drifting ruins your car, but it is fun!!....

One With The Computer: I forgot the name of the guy he was playing with, but I'm sure alexandre wil chime in here with it, lol, and here is Gonçalo website.... btw, I can sympathize with ya on the snow.... I'm from MA originally, and if it snows lightly for day's it makes a nasty slush, so when your a young kid, it's fun, but when you get older it becomes a job, lol!!.... Stay warm man.... :-)

Do The Stu: lol man, I read it on Yahoo.... Definately a day to remember, like you said, lol.... And so true about These guys hate everything about our country, but they have no problem with using our money or eating food from our country.!!.... Ironic, isnt it!!....

robetito: Welcome to the site, your English is fine, dont worry, and ask any questions you want.... :-)

Clarky: lol man, your new release ought to get you enough to buy that new Pro Tool's Rig!!.... I think you can market that right here from this site, and Barry can go Worldwide!! :-).... btw, so true on not only is variety the spice of life, lol, it broadens your musical vocabulary.... Great new's on Our Blood On Their Hands being released when SD goes on trial!!.... lol....

Happy 200 quito!!

slickKid09: Damn man, that suck's about your brother, but remember that he was fighting for freedom no matter what.... My cousin has been back and forth over there as a corpsman, and has rescued many of the wounded.... I've gotten many messages from my Uncle.... Amazing group of people over there, and I hope it ends soon!!.... btw, are you talking about Pearly??

GregM: Thank's bro, and thank's for your informative rebuttal :-)

....On the Iraq situation, I alway's wonder why they did'nt push to get Osama.... I know there is something going on that we dont know about in Afgani, and I hope they get the big "O" soon!!.... On the oil.... Will it be safer in Coalition hand's or the Iraqi's?? That will remain to be seen, but bottom line is Saddam is down.... Osama is on the loose, and you gotta agree, oil played a key factor in going over there, lol, just look at N. Korea.... They have nothing to offer, otherwise we would have went in there long ago, although they are not known for terrorism and suicide attack's, their weapons of mass destruction are far greater than the Iraqi's!! That is, until we find what they (Iraq) actually have.... They were very good at hiding things, lol, just look at how Saddam was hiding ;-).... And I believe American policy toward N. Korea is that they have no $$, so they will destroy themselves if they dont ask for help.... So either way you look at it, there is right AND wrong at the same time, and you cant please everyone, although, I am soo happy right now, lol!!.... One kingpin down.... One to go.... ;-)

wow sometimes free money comes around... what happened was a 7-11 store had one of those new VCOM machines where u can buy money orders or cash your check etc... and it was messed up to where if u bought a $10 money order ($11 total, it's $1 for the MO) it would give u the money order then give u $80 back in change so i pulled $575 out of it and split that with the guy that gave me the money to do it in the first place but somehow i ended up with $330 counting the $110 in money orders, but im selling the money orders to a buddy for $50 cause i dont want them taking down my drivers license # when i cash them or put them in my account cause it has the time and location of purchase and my mug is on their camera... albeit i had my beanie and big sunglasses on LOL, maybe they'll think i was one of the chollos... there were so many people taking money from that machine it was crazy

Mikey, I was listening to Rob Zombie while I was wrapping presents and Boogie Man came on. lmao! I cranked it up and laughed thinking about you spinning on your back, then later trying to explain the floor burns to your wife. LMAO!! Knees, back, elbows, ...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!! No worries about the package. It'll be cool no matter when I get it :)

Everybody, don't forget to keep WILLING Pete's card to him! "Pete WILL get his card. Pete WILL get his card..." Just keep repeating this over and over a few times till it feels like you REALLY mean it. We appreciate all your help.

Thanks for all the happy 1000's. Guess I've been here a while, huh? lol!

Kirk, todays storm was a blekky one. No pretty snow, just wet icey stuff. I stayed in all day and did Christmas cards and wrapped some presents. Hell, I never even got out of my pajamas! lol! It was to icy to go anywhere. Glad we didn't have to work today. We're expecting a school delay tomorrow too. I agree, this was not a nice storm.

Austin, how did I hear the news? The phone rang first thing this morning, then 10 minutes later it rang again. It was my mum-in-law telling us the news that it snowed overnight (cause that's what mum-in-laws do - lmao!). The 2nd call was her telling my husband about Saddam. I didn't believe it till I saw it on TV. I still can't believe he had a gun and didn't wack himself instead of being captured. Proves what a coward he really is.

Greg M, "It seems I was the final member of the exclusive geeky sexist male T2J1K club." LMAO!! Looks like I've broken a record of some sort. lol! Pretty cool!!

Mikey, isn't a dodo a big prehistoric bird on the Flintstones? Don't you mean doodoo (poopie - ca-ca)? LOL!!!!

OCP - Thanks for checking out the lesson. I think no one really writes about string dampening, because it's hard to explain on paper since it's all about hand postion. After I finish part 2 of the alternate picking lesson, I'll see if I can put something together on string dampening. Maybe I'll get a buddy to come over & snap some pictures of my hands while I'm playing, for a visual aid.

Hey everyone!!!

Re screaming in music: I like shouting. Muscly voice to go with the cool drums and heavy guitars. Nothing as good as a band with a vocalist who can sing and shout though. Christian Lindskog from Blindside is a great example. I also like the powerful voice in Project 86, and the raucous Living Sacrifice. (In particular, that is. There's heaps of brilliant heavy vocals in bands that sing about rubbish.)

That Linkin Park track Steve is up against my mate Al played a drum duet to a couple of weeks ago. It was brilliant.

Mischievous: hmmm, reminds me of those banners at the cricket. I guess you have no idea what I'm on about, but anyone who watches it will know exactly what I mean. "...make any Crushing Day a Day At The Beach..." nice one. PS If I call you man, it's because I call everyone man, man.

Wow it's taken over 1/1/2 hours to get through the weekend's posts...

I heard the news when I was trying to watch the cricket.

...and is that boogie pronounced as in "get up and boogie" or pronounced with "BOO" rhymes with STUUU? (boogie man, nose boogie)...or should that be boogey?

I forget what else I was going to say. Oh well. Catch you all later.

PS Just quietly... Beezer! You might come from Notheren Ireland, but just in case it's actually Northern Ireland, you might want to change the spelling!

Later all. BEN
