ZeusFdo - The new G3 album hasn't been released yet. I don't think we'll see it until March or April at the earliest.

Stu Clone - Click here for more info about the book. Most of the songs are simple, as I said...so I already know them. But it's nice to have the music for Killer Bee Bop, for example.
Clarky - Happy 900...

hey all,

i got some dream theatre's purple rain version on the net, a really bad sounding mp3, anyone know if thatz on some album maybe, or if theres some better version available? purple rain is just sooo nice, sooo lovely (Tastey, so soothing for my broken heart :S ... hope yours is better!) ... and the dream theatre version is simply yummy (is it in fact dream theatre?).

thanks for the info,

Do The Stu, those simple bass lines aren't Stu's are they? Mish, are you sure it's not just a fake? It may be a real cover DT's doing.

This is probably old news for most of you, but I just found out that Rob Halford is back with Priest . So , what I got for Christmas? M.Friedman : Music for Speeding; Andy Timmons : That Was Then...; Ring Of Fire: Dreamtower; Kip Winger: Songs from the Ocean Floor; D.T.:Train of ... and of course the J.S. Anthology. And Boxing Week isn't over yet!

The Prez - Yes, Stu plays bass on some of those songs. I'd guess that 99.9% of Joe's basslines (not counting the SBM album) were composed by Joe himself, though. They tend to be fairly simple, for the most part.

It would have been cool to use live versions for some of the songs in this book. Even though I already know how to play it, it would have been nice to see a transcription of Always... arranged for two-handed tapping (the way Stu plays it live). It might have been cool to have the LISF versions of TMPHGT and OBR instead of the studio versions, because the live versions are more exciting. It doesn't really matter, though. It's still a cool book. The chords are listed above each measure of music, so it's easy to look at the music and improvise. That's good enough for me.

Clarky: Happy 900 bro, and were you at that Astoria show? Is there anyone here that's in the front row??.... lol, what a great show that was, it's the first time I've seen Dr. VAI live, (hehe, on dvd) and I have a newfound respect for him.... The guitar is an extension of his appendages.... A true master....

962: lol man, my gift came from a U.S. Military Installation on Island here.... It is not released in Japan yet either, so I got an early head start, lol.... Man, you wont believe your eyes when you see and hear the quality.... This and LISF are my 2 fave dvd's!!!!.... Oh, btw, keep your JEM, and see if you can get a MM later.... They are nice, but ya gotta keep the JEM for Steve, lol ;-)

/\/\EG/\BO'/D: Thank's for the link man!!.... They sound kuul!!....

do the stu, 99.9 eh? how much liberty did nathan east have on the Self titled project, I know joe gave him the chord progressions & what not he was playing but I think he came up with some cool stuff there, & stu does have some songs that come to mind right now, like a piece of liquid, bells of lal there are some other greats out there, & yeah the bass live is better, with stu or matt, they both shine in there own ways & I love how matt opens the band UP with some groovy fat rock lines man! I'll go for a 89.9 hahaha.................boyd

thank god christmas is over! seems like every year it gets more hectic.go here go there blah blah blah next year i'm staying in my house in pajamas all day. did anyone get any thing cool for christmas? if you want good strings, try ELIXIR ELECTRIC GUITAR STRINGS(ACOUSTICS TOO) they have a super thin coating on them they last for a super long time. they are good strings if you dont like changing strings alot. with heavy playing , i can make a set lastfor over a month, but usually change strings 1 and 2 cause they take the most abuse, and just buy a bunch of single strings . its alot cheaper that way . got a voodoo lab PROCTAVIA , cool pedal!!! also got a ten band Dunlop EQ, need to get my wah pedal back from shop, i really miss it!

I wento to see you live in Mexico City at the Metropolitan Theater, and I was really amazed! It amazed me how a guy and his guitar can create and share withe the audience such an incredible and magic music. You're always been my hero, but that night was more than fantastic!!! When you played "Friends", I went totally crasy, it was like visiting Heaven! I play guitar and sing in a band. Singing is okay, but when I hold a guitar, my mind travels like if it was flying in a blue dream, and I transform my self into an Extremist! Thank you Joe for sharing your beautiful music to the world. Your disciple: ROGELIO
