(too lazy to hit EDIT)...

Nick there's always the DS1 for your dirt, or maybe your amp.... clean should need nothing really, maybe later on some compression, chorus / flange, and some delay / reverb... what gear do you have now? I'm no salesman... I just have some things I don't need... maybe airing your probs / concerns will help you make the right gear decision.... no geetarist wants to waste beer money, after all, right??? lol

OK I'm off now... gonna watch some more x-files...oh and cook some dinner.... (but where I come from it's called TEA lol)... later all... Dave

phrydom..i currently have a zoom gfx707 and a 15 watt marshall amp.

i cant get a decent sound though the computer for recording. the zoom wah/volume pedal it has..doesn't work. i've decided to go for stomp boxes..as they usually are better than millions of channels on a multi-effects. and easier to use live..sort of...maybe. about the ds-1..the taiwan model isn't very good from what i heard...at the music shop in guildford they have a jap ds-1 for £40 so i might get it from there..plus 10% discount for been an acm student. i need a better amp too...but again..dont know what to get.

SHOUTING STACY: it was in reference to your (at the time numerous) potty mouth statements

R6R: I've heard of Llanfair...gogogoch before but not pneumo...ollibbolliosis. There is a hill in New Zealand...but I forget its name. Obviously there are lots of hills in New Zealand, but you know what I mean.

Mike: the best thing about rh steering wheel lh gearstick is that if you hold the wheel with the last two fingers (+ thumb) near the bottom, the first two fingers are free for the "air hihat" and the left arm is free for the "air snare", and you get a big wind-up. Problems arise when the song contains lots of cymbal work, and accident avoidance requires you to use your eyebrows on the cymbals, as extended periods of waving both arms around tends to cause the vehicle to "only slightly veer, your honour"

Okay, my guess is that that lake was named while the guy was in the middle of it drowning. Chargogaggooagglugluglug...

Yes, but what about the velocity of the African Swallow?

Last night's "thing" went okay. Turned up late for soundcheck because I couldn't remember how to get there. I asked if anyone in the car knew how to get there, and I made the mistake of taking a female's directions. That's right, straight ahead at the next intersection is kind-of difficult when it's a t-junction. I thought right would be a good option, and "ladies & gentlemen, thank you very much" it was the correct way. We found the destination 1km further up that road.

962 thanks for the reply...I kinda figured that would be the best way...but playing it slowly sounds so crappy....lol...oh well...maybe after a few months I'll get up to speed on it.....oh, and no I don't use any kind of finger strength builder upper ...lol....but I do find that trying to play a 3 note run across two or more strings that I tend to tense up...hmmmm...now how to combat that..

ZACH - I have a japanese DS-1 with a sticker saying "use BOSS ACA ADAPTOR ONLY" . According to you I should use it with 12V. Right? But the box having a 9V Battery, one can assume that it needs 9 V.... I'm confuzed..

My second question would be that should the adaptor really be a BOSS or any adaptor will do ? Apreciate your help.

engines of dreams yeah, I can play parts to a lot of his songs, sometimes even half of them, then he does a solo, then I just sit and listen wishing I could do it, someday though, it takes time and practice

LMAO!!.... btw, for me, it allows me to use the gripmaster all the time, lol, but right hand strumming is very dangerous and should be avoided!! ;-)

And on the guy naming the lake while drowning.... ROTFLMAO.... hahaha!!

JS_JS Phew, I though I was alone. There's alot of solo's I can't make sound like his, the spped isn't the problem, it's the "smoothness" which I think is more important. I spent hours on the Crushing Day Solo and only got the first half, BTw how can you emmorize the music? I always have to play with a stand, and it's a bummer whn you have to turn the page in a solo, so I try to memorize it but I forget it by the next day, any suggestions?

Hmmm, listening to a CD by Gackt right now. A friend at work burned it for me and was like, "Hey you like metal and you like Anime, maybe you'll like this!" It's interesting to say the least. I can only understand some of the words but still, reminds me of Nobuo Uematsu a little bit.

Good advice on alcohol, Michelle. Though some are sarcastic there is truth to them!

Drink of the day? Coffee.

Yay, get to work Christmas Eve, from 6-30am till 4pm, after closing. For all you Canadians who know what Tim Horton's is, well I get to take home all the food and stuff :p Free doughnuts for Christmas morning!

Happy Holidays to all! I leave in about 8 hours for a cruise with the family, so I won't be here for the rest of Channukkah or Christmas, but I hope everyone enjoys whichever holiday they choose to celebrate! I'll be back in a week, but you'll all be on my mind! Later!

Thanks to all who suggested me a CD from Vai.

Yesterday I was on a concert. But it wasn't an ordinary concert. It was a concert, where people were dancing traditional dances. And I was one of the dancers. I know it sounds weird, but I am a dancer for eleven years now. It's a weird combination: traditional dances and hard rock!! Anyway, we made a good performance.

Anyone heard for a band called Laibach? They come from Slovenia and are well know in Europe. First they played some strange sort of metal, but today they started with electronical music. I usually don't like that kind of music, but they are good. Especially in lyrics(they sing in german language, but you can understand them well).
