eta - I regularly look for Orion 'cos I have a bit of a thing about that one... I look for the milkyway [when it's dark enough and clear enough].. ursa minor.. leo, gemini, Venus, Mars and Jupiter [when they're out and about].. I'll set the alarm like 3 in the morning when there's a meteor shower on.. especially the Pursids Meteor shower cos they're really spectacular and really fast...

maybe a contortionist would keep looking up and up and up until they see a black hole.... lmao..

roland - I can look at the sky and doubt the existance of a God.. but not doubt that the univrse is a pretty amazing thing that needs to be better understood..
michelle - interesting mail up until the 'pass it around' part.. noooo... a chain mail... sing the author into a power station furnace.. make them into electricty.... lmao.. make them into 0.0000001% of the human race that finally put something useful back into society.. wattage.. lmao
mick87 - lmao... really lmao...
kinda like... "gayta bit me leg off paaaw"
"which one Billy Ray??
"I dunno... seen one gayta seen em all".

Flagg Back in the day Weird Al was the man! I like how he blows up at the end of the solo at the end of eat it.

Sigh... the internet is supposed to provide the latest information cuz it's the easiest to update and have access to. The most annoying thing is when sites don't get updated-- ie. ibanez.com-- sure they have photos from the namm show, but it takes ages before they get the new gear in the products section. what really annoyed me was that the whole RG470 series was missing for the whole 2003!!! It's unacceptable!! I'm better off taking a hard copy catalogue from a store~

Ethn...

check out Line 6 dude... their amps sound like everything... tons of different distortions to go along with it... The Spider I I in particular has stacks at very affordable prices... and they have every effect built in that you'd ever want...

here's a look see at what I'm talking about...

Stu Clone - Go ahead and send me Yang. I won't be able to play it, but it'll be cool to look at. ;-)

eta - Ethn is Ethn Hayabusa.
eta - I love astronomy!
The Prez - I don't know...I'm not the webmaster. ;-)

I would imagine there will be some kind of promo for the new album here on this site. Whether it's an autographed CD or an autographed poster or something completely different, I don't know. The release date is still four weeks away.

EDIT - I like Joe's NAMM pants, even though they aren't as cool as his flame pants.

...Austin...

I would agree with you about Megadeth. I thought that was Marty at his best. He really made them a jam band.

Jason was in David Lee Roth for one album after Vai left but it wasent all that impressive. Then he got some kind of muscle disease that messed him up pretty bad.

The Prez

I loved the early Wierd Al too. Another one rides the bus. was great. I can remember being a kid and just totally digging that song. Now my 9 year son is a big fan of his and has his last 2 albums. Wierd Al a multi-generational artist! Who woulda guessed

Plum Loco-The line 6 is probably the worst amplifier I have ever played, I hate them, lol.

Don't mean to be harsh, just had a lot of bad times playing them.Muddy as hell.

I really think Im gonna end up with the valvetronix, isnce I can get it 5% below cost.If not, I would probably just save up and a stack, JSX or somthing.

Greg M, dude, I'd rather you didn't preach. no offense, but I'ts not possible to make me believe, and it never will be. Peace!

mishievous, fine thanks, hows you? why'd you change your user ID?
I agree with Clarky. I'm not an anti-relgious person - I respect that fact that everbody is entitled to believe and think what they want, but I find it very fake - manufactured like you said. I also find it just wrong that the whole 'freedom' thing leads people to kill each other.

And yes, religion is the basis of war. I'm sorry but you can't get round the fact - Nazi's hated Jews so they killed them. Muslims aren't overly keen on other arabs, or each other, which is why they've been at war for the last couple of thousand years. I'm not saying that christians or bad, or that muslim are bad. I'm not saying that anybody is bad because of their belief. I'm just explaining why I disagree with the prinicpal.

If the christian churches donated 50% of their wealth to the 3rd world, many millions of people would find themselves instantly living a healthier, better developed life. I think that's important. But that's it, I don't want to annoy anybody! hehe.

Oh, I completely respect Buddhism. I mean there's some aspects which are a bit odd and don't make so much sense, but I like the fact that it resolves around paying respects to an enlightened person, rather than worshiping a god.

Greg (again), "ABSOLUTELY FRIKKIN' GREAT! I LOVE COMPUTERS SO MUCH NOW!".....haha, I know the feeling! Don't suppose you saw Jeremy Clarkson's TV program last night, about the history of computers? it was pretty funny. The smartest AI currently in existence, has the equivelent intelligence of a slug or a snail. WOW.
Ethn, yeah I know what you mean about modelling amps. I think they sound bollocks at modelling. They sound great as a strait-ahead amp with different sounds, but the vintage marshall sound doesn't sound like a vintage marshall. All the patches sound like characatures!

And yes, Marshall combos suck ass. Their modern amps don't impress me at all. A straight ahead amp? I know it's probably not the tone you're after, but i gotta say Fender! Their combos are brilliant. Laney are getting really good too.

I thought T3 was a cool movie, and I was impressed by Arnie - he managed his age well. Still, T2 is the best, and yeah, Matrix 3 sucked even more than part 2! What happened?!

parkerplayer, er...what exactly is wrong with the Parker? (apart from that f*ck*d up shape. hehe) Do you know why it stopped playing through the amp. If the guitar is broken, you need to fix it before you sell it, otherwise you'll be lucky to get a 3rd of what you originally paid for it.

As for something that will compare - it depends on your budget and what tone you want. If you want a Strat-like tone then get a decent American Deluxe series Strat, or get an Ernie Ball/Music Man Luke model, or an Ibanez AT300 when it comes out later this year.

if you want something with a more 'Joe'-like tone then a JS1000 is an obvious choice. Or a Jem. If you want something really hot and harmonic, shreddy etc, you could get a Washburn N4, a Les Paul Zakk Wylde, an Ibanez PGM. These are all artist signature models which is why I recommend them, cuz a Parker Fly is not cheap, and these are all of a similar price.

austin,
i'm in this physics seminar that's ALL about SETI, it's freakin awesome... it's like a "best of album" !
NEW FROM EPIC, THE ALBUM FEATURING ASTRONOMY, PHYSICS, BIOLOGY, SOCIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY IN THEIR WORLD-WIDE REUNION TOUR! SETI!!!

i'll scan in yang and send it to ya in a few minutes. it's real cool seeing what went in to making that song. just a bunch of chords, a single written line, and solo choruses, they just did the rest, ya know?

i especially like frank's notation... it looked like
F" E" D" C" Bb" G"
or however till i realized he just REALLY likes 11th chords ;)

962-Fender amps are alright.I had a fender princeton chorus, it sucked ass, I would want a tube fender if I had to. I thought matrix 2 was the best one, matrix 3 was the worst.

The Prez many moons ago that appeared in some mag or other... I worked a little on it and could play all the clean stuff (the easy stuff ROFL)... didn't take it past there, but you go for it!!! Good luck bro!!

(ack I just spilled beer on my keyboard and now everything's all sticky... yuck)

Oh, I heard about Joe before NOTE came out... SV was raving about him (as then unknown, even to the interviewer, as I recall) so my interest was piqued ;-)

Excuse me if I ignore the religious posts... we've done this before, haven't we?????

js jp 41 asking for tips is *not* cheating in my opinion... ask away! usually you'll be flooded with good help here - everyone (usually lol) gets along just fine :-) my tip for an absolute beginner... get used to the feel of the instrument... play things (presumably the majority of the time you won't necessarily know *what* you're playing, but don't worry) and get used to the different sounds can can get, even when not plugged in, maybe make some notes on the sounds you like & the sounds you don't like... try and figure out if there's a pattern.... then maybe move gradually (there's no rush!) on to learning the names of the strings, the notes on the neck, etc, and then (if it's your way of thinking) learn some theory and see how it all fits in... good luck, and ASK AWAY!!!!!! (sorry if that's too beginner-y... it's been a long day lol

Clarky "find out if it was crap idea or not" you hit the nail on the head!!!! Man I've almost apologised to trees for wastage before now!!! LMAO!!!!!

parkerplayer don't want to sounds like a cock (do cocks speak?!?! i know thye spit sometimes! LOL) but maybe the battery/es died? Don't Flys have onboard piezo pickups that are powered? Just a thought.

/\/\ikey funnily enough, so do I!!!! brb......

eta i've noticed how the big dipper has moved since i moved here in july... still there, just in a different place, and turned around somewhat (yes, at the same time of night! :-P )

sorry for the long incoherent and meandering post... a lot happens in here over 27 hours sometimes!!!! enjoy your weekend everyone... Dave... oh, and Shellac Tortoise or Dianogah for G3!!!!!!!
