The NAMM experience was great! The two hour wait to get in a see Joe perform for the Peavy Amp folks was well worth the wait. Joe was very personable, as always, and it was great to be up close for his playing. And the amp sounds pretty good to.
Thx for the mini-show Joe!

ANYWAYS PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW. Oh, by the way in the latest issue of Guitar World and they do a full page review on the DVD and CD. And let me tell you it's not as pro-G3 as I thought it would, but anyways check it out, and Satch, Vai, Yngwie and John Petrucci all made there list of best metal guitarists.

do the stu- you and your humour... i heard it was february 29th - oh wait, that doesn't work this year... it is really odd though... it's hardly as if there's loads of new material and they want americans to be spoiled with all the new goodies... like they could have with something like live in san francisco... normally UK get the album releases a day before you americans... maybe it's going to have a simul-release with the new album called "we'll try and do this here again, sometime soon"
greg m - yeah i thought of that too... but ive just bought two of my mates really really late birthday presents (eg. from october last year)... transatlantic- bridge across forever and neal morse - testimony... neal morse is up there on a parallel with satch as a musician to me... i really recommend everyone to try out some transatlantic, sppck's beard or his most recent solo album "testimony" - all amazing music. best album i've heard without a bit of exaggeration (sp)

Hey Joe!
I couldnt help but notice your new DVD is scheduled for a 2/24/04 release date and the booklet is supposed to be autographed. Aren't your hands gonna cramp up from signing so many autographs? Sorry I missed the tour, I hope the DVD is as good as San Franciso. Later, oh and if anyone is looking to buy a Chromeboy, shoot me an email, mine is for sale.

crushingday62 - If you can only hear the audio, chances are it's because you have a slow internet connection.
roland2112 - I'm only expecting Satriani signatures on the G3 stuff. He did the same thing for The Satch Tapes and his anthology. Steve Vai didn't do it with his DVD or his anthology.
G3 is Joe's thing. I'm sure he'll be the only guy to sign the covers.
IbanezGuitarist - Look through my recent posts. I've posted the links several times in the past week.
Stu Clone - I wanted to play guitar back in middle school, but I never got around to buying one or taking lessons or anything like that. I slowly started liking bass more than guitar, and I eventually decided that I wanted a bass for Christmas a few years ago...so yeah.
jelly man - February 29th was going to be my first punchline, but then I remembered that it is a leap year. Oh well.
Remember that once a firm US release date was set, it was pushed back by about a month. If the UK version was decided to be released in early January way back then, the same reason the US release was delayed is probably what is delaying the UK release. Does that make sense? LOL.
Also, maybe Steve's holding off on it to release it a little closer to the summer European tour.
...Austin...

Bay Area bassists: Bill Lonero's looking for a bassist to play some shows in LA and San Diego with him in place of Stu...
A rep of his posted on the Stu Hamm forum, go there for more info.
Man, if it only I was still in San Jose. I don't know if I'd get the gig, but I'd at least go out and audition for the hell of it! Damn that'd be fun!

tastey - I think that some of the reasons that these guys appear to know so much despite you not saying much is that:
1 - you can give away some information without even realising it... like during the opening introductions.. "hi.. I'm Stace.. sorry I'm a little late.. hubby didn't leave the car keys in the usual place and I had to hunt them down.."
which reveals... you are married... still together... you most likely only have one car and not one each.. and depending upon the tone you say this in will also hint as to your feelings towards hubby..
capturing info like this and making reasonable assumptions from it is what these guys do all day every day.. they therefore listen in a resolution that you are totally not used to and process this information in a predetermined and calculating manner... so even the simplest, seemingly meaningless and most ordinary comments are little probes to guage your reactions and answers.. not all of this stuff takes the form of explicit questions... you'd be surprised at the huge amount of information people give away during the opening small talk.....
2 - 99% of all people are mentally frail, insecure, assume that they are generally inferior in one way or another, have similar desires and aspirations [the usual big ones - wealth, health, happiness... etc], many suffer with some kind of sense of loss [mum.. dad... split / died... girlfriend / wife... lost forever / cheated].. feel that you deserve better [not paid enough.. not enough recognition for what you do].
these guys start figuring you out at the start and then quickly apply you to one of their preset plans of attack.. and when they start drawing a blank or hitting a dead end they'll find out a little more about you and move to plan 'B'....
ok.. my mistake, things are a little misty.. of course.. it's getting clearer.. you dont have a car 'right now' of course [little reassuring smile]... but I'm looking further into your future.. and I do see a car though... you will be getting one I'm quite sure.. 'when' is quite not so clear to me.. maybe a year or two?? [she knows you drive and only have one car... a year is nice and far away / non commital]... yes.. I see you getting a car.... and then a bird will shit on it.... and you will vow to get it one day...
and so on...
psychics hate me....
A - I deliberately give away as little as possible...
B - I lie to them and then change my mind and then contradict myself somemore
C - I think they are all criminals
D - I'm a complete fucking idiot that they'll get no sense from - esspecially as I believe nothing about everything they say
shrinks and 'see-ers'... they are all criminals....
see-ers should be in jail
shrinks should only tend to those that are genuinely mentally dissabled and are in great need of medical assistance - schizo's, paranoiacs, psycho's, sociopaths.. manic depressives, those with ADHD and such..
dealing with the pain of being alive and a human being that pays too much tax, would like to earn more, be in a relationship that was closer to their utopian model.. have a bigger house, smaller ass, nicer tits, straighter / whiter teeth, no loans, etc .. etc is all stuff that best mates help each other with.. no need to spend money.. just have a couple of really good budz that you'd trust with your life... budz that care greatly for each other...
this is just my take
and before you tear into me with a big stick.... please note that I'm not suggesting that you are a neurotic peasant with a fat arse, crap tits and no mates... lmao
keep an eye on the car tho... lmao...

Question for all guitarists in here.......Is it just me, or does anyone else play air guitar in their sleep? My girlfriend laughs at me because sometimes I'll be chording or soloing when I'm resting my hand on her. Then she'll politely tell me to stop playing and get some sleep...lol.....I wish I could remember which songs I'm dreaming about ;)

Clarky, the breadth of your musical taste is frightening me!! I thought I was the only one on this board to like "old" Brit/European prog and fusion stuff. Believe it or not, Steve Stevens is also a prog fanatic!!! Other albume I love
Curved Air Air Cut, vocals a little iffy but Eddie Jobson!! What a musician. Wish it was available on CD.
Isotope with Gary Boyle
Soft Machine with both Holdsworth and the underrated John Etheridge.
Gryphon, weird dudes those boys, prog with oboe!!!
Brand X, Phil Collins and others drumming up a storm and of course John Goodsall on guitar, also Fire Merchants!!
Colosseum II, rock fusion at it's best. I could go on and on but will not for the sake of the boardsters!! Thanks for the PFM link, Franco Mussida, that was the name and he was great!! Nice bunch a guitars he owns listed on that site!!!

michelle - I just can't do the psychic thing... or any supernatural thing... it's not even as if I'm sceptical.. I can't do religion.. I can't do any kind of faith stuff... for a reason that I don't understand.. this stuff just has no effect on me...
if there is a hell... I'll guess I'll be there a while burning in it.. lol
mowlie - what I did with the arm was.....
1st - undo the screw on the underside of the bridge plate..
2nd - took off the washers
3rd - put a few turns of plumbers tape in the grooves
lastley.. refitted everything and tightened up the screw...
it worked ok..
thanx for the suggestion.. I'll try it..
962 - haha.. so you can shoot a man on the moon.. you say "oh shit".. you mate says.."jeez dude you got him in the eye".. and you're like.. " I was aiming at the other one".. lol..
climber - jeeeezzzz dude... that's real close... there are rules of thumb to pickup height.. this must be effecting your sustain... esspecially when you're playing above the 15th fret as such short string lengths have much less momentum.. you should look this stuff up on either the Project Guitar or Ibanez Rules web sites...

You got a headstart on a new job, and you can play the game with him and bail out when your ready.... Best of luck to ya bro!!.... I need to find a better job myself.... The guy's I work with want to sleep with the airplanes at night.... They never want to go home man, crazy shit; dedication is one thing, but kiss-assing

mikesb - folks that check out my cd and vinyl collection think I'm a complete headcase... 70's prog, metal, hard rock. delta / Chicago / Texas blues, Baroque, traditional Okinawan / Irish / North African / Indian / Zulu / English folk music, Jazz, be-bop, funk, hip hop, fussion, classical, romanticism, synth stuff [Jarre, vangelis etc], film music, nu-metal, rap-metal, fussion, trance, ... and the list goes on...
haha... but no pop... no country.. and no post modernism...
so what frightens you??? lol..
on the PFM thing.. the track Harlequin from chocolate kings has in my opinion one of the most beautiful accoustic parts ever writen / performed... I wish I could play it like that... in fact I wish it was me that was smart enough to have writen it... yeah the singer was not great.. but he fits them ok... their music though blows me away...

Is there a moderator in the house? If there is, just to let you know, I have been viewing and posting message here for a while. I don't have that many posts, but I have been trying to read as much as I can of the site. But, I have elected to stop viewing this message board because you have allowed the foul language to get way out of hand. Maybe you don't have any standards. That is okay if it is your choice. I am going to continue to watch for Joe's shows, but I think it is wrong to allow so much unnecessary language on the site. But, that's just my opinion.
