fretslayer: i saw this show on vhi the other night about the hair bands, its a new one, not the one they've shown for a while, and they were saying how back then it was all about having fun, singing about happy things, then grunge came, and everyone was depressed and unhappy, i totally agree, back in the hair days those were the "good ole days" then things changed, i liked some grunge, but i think it definately changed the mood of people.....did you see that?

aside from the voltage, check the ampage, if the voltage and ampage are the same, there shouldn't be any problems. most adaptors are around 300mA.

Michelle, sorry to hear about your scanner. I am ( sorry !!) to say that ours is now up & running. I downloaded a newer version of it from the Agfa site before installing XP. It would not work at first, but now it does. I think it had something to do with pulling out the desk , & disturbing the plugs/wires/connections !!
My son is well pleased as he uses it all th time.
Need to look around XP now, when I find the time !!

hello everyone, i relly want to know wich guitar joe used on the SFL and in the G3 with eric johnson and in the one with malmsteen(am not sure if he used it on the one with petrucci), I was pretty sure it was the JS-1000bp, but i took a closer look at the video and it was not so similar, it may be a custom one or something, anyways, if yoy know the reference or name, please tell me, masterpick

Clarky - sorry for responding so late... Lenny Breau might not be your cup of tea, but I think that every guitar player should know who he was and what he's done. I know, a very few do. You can read about Lenny on this webpage : Dave Gould's Guitar Pages.

mick87 - roland make guitar synth pickups that work as midi controllers - and my favourite dt album... well it's not really fair for me to say since i don't actually own any pre FII albums (i own them all since)- but virtually all rudess onwards stuff, i like more than virtually all pre rudess stuff- with obvious exceptions like a change or seasons and a mind by itself... (that's what it's called right?). I think my faves probably 6doit simply cause it's got a lots of different sounding songs, and some of my favourite (2,5,6,7,8 from 6doit + disappear).
neil - i love heavy music too... but it's gotta be heavy in comparison to something else... and since silent man was about the only song that wasn't heavy... it was a touch monotonous to me. but heavy songs do rock...cool meeting your band and your brother too, btw.
do the stu- well i appreciate the effort... i guess since an inch is longer than a centimetre, a mile is longer than a kilometre, a tonne is heavier than a kilogram and an imperial tonne is heavier than a metric ton, you must still be on the imperial system... we have decimal time over here, you see ;)
And I think i've heard a rumour that "aaaah... fresh page" might be a song on the new album...
kevt03- yeah i agree with what you've said there... i'm not sure about the frank zappa thing there- there are some lines that are clearly influnced by zappa, but they're nearly all unisons with jordan, and i reckon he's more likely to come up with that kinda thing... but the rhythm playing is indeed awesome... and petrucci's chords are often quite stretchy...
i think clarky's put it very well how i feel about his playing...

I've had a near-death-experience today. Twice, actually. I've heard Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb' in pop/techno-version on the radio two days in a row now. Sounded like Bee-Gees, complete with falsetto singing and blip-blop sounds. Absolutely horrible. I mean, you have to draw the line somewhere!
I'm starting a list right now (my first ever).
WHAT IS THE WORST PERFORMED COVER EVER?
My candidates are:
1. The one above mentioned.
2. 'Purple Haze' in some weird, disgusting reggae version I heard a while ago.
There are more, just can't remember anyone now...

So...what other songs will be on the new album?
-"...more on this later!"
-"Ahhh...fresh page!"
Will "I just got back from snowboarding." finally make its much-anticipated appearance? ;-)
And now for something completely different, the worst cover I've heard recently is The Ataris' cover of Don Henley's Boys Of Summer. Bleh!
s1220 - I don't know if the new G3 DVD is region-specific.
TASTEY - Thanks for the pics. Joe is about 5'8" and I'm at least 6'4". I tried not to stand too tall in that picture...but the top of my head was still cut off. ;-)

Joe My Name is Matt Grosse. I live in Lake Havasu Arizona. Lonn Friend told you about me at the NAMM convention. He asked you about the time when you jammed with Spinal Tap at the 91 RIP party. You said "Are you kiding? We did Big Bottom and Chris Cornell was loosing his mind at the side of the stage." You signed a picture to me that said: To Matt. Rock on. Joe Satriani. I'm not saying this stuff to freak anyone out. I just wanted to tell you that I do exist and I would LOVE to be able to jam with you someday. Lonn lost the picture that you signed for me. He lost it at a Mexican restaurant. Just figured I'd let you know that Lonn lost the damn picture. lol But it's all good. Hopefully I'll be able to hear from you. if you want you can e-mail me at Matt@SoulExistence.com . Later Joe. Matt.

Clarky: That would be great if you could get the AW working with Cubase, and it may be as simple as a cable hooked into the wrong line or input/output, lol, and having Yammie for support only makes things easier, hopefully it's something simple.... btw, I think your right on my nephew, I need to hook up with him and watch how he goes about it.... He's got a crude studio that he rent's out and I need to watch him recording and post production lol, of course with some Orion to boot....
Interesting story there on the Hanging Salad, lol, I'm glad you hung on to the salad, hehe.... The salad of biblical proportions, OMG look out, lmao, now your talkin'!!!! I would like to see this made into a movie, lol!!....
On JP.... I feel similar to the way you do on his playing.... There are moments of brilliance in there, but his solo's start off right and seem to go in another direction from where I was going, lol.... He'll go into a gut wrenching, heart tugging solo and loose you half way through wondering why the hell did he do that!!.... Mixed feelings....
SupaaDave: Good luck on the move bro for you and Lela.... Hope it goes smoothly....
amddata: Thank's for that link bro!! :-)
Fretslayer: Happy 200!!....
Do The Stu: lol man, those ....more on this later.... drives me banoonies when he writes that cause he never follows up!! ;-)

Dragonchild....I'd have to say that the worst "cover" ever done was in fact by the Bee Gee's......do some of us remember their version (and the movie they put out) of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? I think the only good thing that came out of that (and I'm sure Austin Lewis will agree) is Aerosmith's version of "Come Together".......

Dammit have to type it all again. Whatever I had before I forget. Doesn't matter anyway.
Jelly Man / Austin: my best score for intermediate level minesweeper is 24 seconds. Anything above a minute is a crap game for me. Expert level I can't recall my best time, but at one stage it was 130 something seconds. I'll check it out later. It's not as easy because sometimes you have to guess more than once, and you can't guess correctly every time. Intermediate and easy levels are merely a race against the clock. You can usually solve them without having to take a risk. I usually die because I click the box next to the one I meant to click on. BANG!
I still have a month of holiday left I think. Either that or only 4 weeks.
R6R: they're brilliant. I remember hearing the last one before. Probably heard them all before, but that one sticks out in my mind.
Oh. I'm meeting some guys for a band practice for a thing next week I found out about yesterday. Supposed to be there at 1, so I've got 25 minutes to walk home, drive into town to get my stuff and back out to where we're meeting. Haven't read the last 3 pages yet.
Catch you all tomorrow maybe!!! HEY JOE, what will the new stuff be like?!? Come on, just a tiny clue? BEN
