Dear Joe, What do you think of songs in Unplugged versions? I think that some songs are very good to do a Unplugged version. Is there a change that you make an Unplugged album or a Jazzy album? I can't wait to hear your new album. When are you coming to the Netherlands for a tour?

cool, minesweeper, eh?
personally, i'd only consider myself an "above average" player. i've got more around 30 seconds for int. and 140-150 for expert.

wow...thanks for posting that link of Joe at the NAMM show that was cool...

IceZer..well I will for sure be going by the wiring diagram when I install the pickups...I will be doing them myself... I've done it before a couple of times...the pickups are supposed to arrive tomorrow...can't wait :o)

I saw the tone diagrams on the Paf Pro and the Fred...the Fred has a higher mid range than treble or bass... and the Pro has more treble than mids or bass.......so.....to make the "PAF Joe" better match the Fred... I would assume they balanced the Pro a little more to create the "Joe"...but then, only Joe knows for sure ...lol....

Clarky....you're a nut ...lol...a damn smart one mind you ..lol :o)

Jelly Man - Geez, synth pickups for a midi controller? that's new to me! I've actually never heard anything from 6DOIT... with Rudess, I like a lot of the Scenes From A Memory cd. Do you have the album he did with Petrucci? I'm not sure what its called but it's under JP's discography...

Alexandre - Thanks a lot man! Hope you get some holidays as well too! And boy, those beachs along Portugal look amazing! Take care...

Ovation - Thanks for the Joe at NAMM video! Ah man that JSX sounds truely kick@sslikenessly good! So good that I'm truely pooched...

later...

Clarky, oh Clarky...whatever shall we do with you? (DON'T ANSWER THAT!!)

SupaaDave, good luck with your girlfriend. I wish you the best :)

ToneCapone, congrats on the new house!

Fretslayer, happy 2-hunnert!

Stacy, I wanna hear all about your reading, but you don't have to say everything she told you if you don't want to. I would LOVE to be read! I saw that show on VH1. I totally agree, grunge brought out the depressed side of everyone. Don't get me wrong, I loved Pearl Jam, STP, and all that went with it, but it took a little while for it to grab hold of me. I loved the Crue, Skid Row, Whitesnake, etc, and still do. It was sad to see them fade like they did. Funny, my 15 yr. old daughter is a Bon Jovi fan now. lol! I never had any of their cd's, so I bought her a "best of" for her birthday in Dec. She's loves it! lol! I think my fav song of theirs has always been Bad Medicine.

anibur, so glad everything is working well for you. We switched a while ago, maybe 2 years or so? We got a digital camera since then, so that made up for a lot. lol! My husband brought home a scanner from work that they were going to throw away, so maybe we can get that working soon :)

Austin, Joe is 5'9 and not an inch shorter!!! lol!

Dragonchild, the first worst cover to pop into my mind is Pat Boone doing Metallica. ACK!!! OH NO WAIT!!! It was Snoop Dogg doing Sad But True!!!

First time post!

I would just like to plead to Joe and crew to have another G3 tour. I have missed the last 2 shows, one due to money problems and the last one because it sold it within a day of being released for my area. Whenever I get depressed I pop in Live in San Francisco and it always cheers me up. I hopefully will see you soon on another tour, G3 or Good ole Satch Classics.

Thanks for being such a great musician and an inspiration, Tim

SupaaDave - MAN, that movie was horrible. You're right, though, Aerosmith's Come Together sounds great...they worked with George Martin on it, which kinda makes it hard to screw up. ;-)

Aerosmith's scene in the movie was, ummm, interesting. Alcohol, drugs, and acting don't mix very well.

Artanis I - I don't play the expert setting very often because I hate having to guess. I'll make my way through the entire board and end up with two squares and one mine. Losing there just drives me crazy...ugh!

I think I'll start playing expert again, though, so I can get into the 120-140 range with the rest of you guys.

eta -Well, if it's heavy it has to be done well. It can't just be drop-tuned to fuck with root/5 chords changing every eighth note, and some dude hacking his voice box for an entire album. I want to hear inventiveness, something a little different, some killer riffs, and (most importatntly) a good melody. There can be screaming, but not the whole time. The band also has to be really tight. My favourite 'heavy' bands are: Fear Factory, Pantera, Metallica (old-skool, obviously - not that St. Anger crap), Opeth, etc.

Jelly - I know exactly what you mean. I loved it because hey; I was watching Dream Theater!!!! lol... It was cool meeting you again, too. That wasn't my whole band - the bass player and singer were missing. I don't know why; I think they were busy that day...

do-the-stu

thanks heaps for the info on the js10 chromeboy mate. looks like joe doesnt want that guitar too common, but come heaven or high water, i am going to get one. i dont care what i have to pay. i've never understood why people pay outlandish prices for things until i saw joe with the very first chromeboy, it was the ibanez radius 540, and it was in an interview following the release of flying in a blue dream. i think it is the coolest guitar i have ever seen. and from reviews i have read they play beautifully. so watch this space cause if i land one i am gonna flood this place with posts about how stoked i am lol.

actually, while we're on the subject, what's your favourite model of guitar? doesnt have to be one of joe's or even an ibanez. i'm curious to see what guitars you guys are all in to.

wtf up with that bollocks ? Now you know what the 'C' stands for :-/

Clarky - Nice timemachine list, esp the Genesis ones, there's a group in Canada called The Musical Box who were on that prog prog (lol) the other night. They faithfully reproduced the stage shows and the lot. btw - spot on on the training schedule, got it in one - l used to train 4 times a week ;-)

Artanis My fave on that list is the weight lifter one - lmao

Do The Stu roflmao on the 'secret song'. heh heh.

Ovation The boss got his yesterday now we've just got to wait for a decision. Remember bro' anytime you get fed up with waiting for Christian just mail me your address and I'll get a copy to you.

Dave Re: above, I wish I'd taken you up on your offer :-/ btw dude, 27th Feb, consider yourself reminded - lol ;-)

Ya Yo Gakk - I've been thinking about getting The Rolling Stones' Four Flicks. Let me know if you like it. I've thought about buying it a few times, but part of me really wonders about the quality of the release when they didn't even bother to put a complete tracklisting on the back of the box.

anthropos - A G3 2003 CD and DVD will be released in the US in February.
hazza - My favorite bass is the Fender Stu Hamm Urge II. My favorite guitar is probably the original Joe Perry Signature Les Paul, even though I've never played one. ;-)

Hey Everybody.
Master Yoda - Ever heard a band called Lamb Of God? Dont't be put off by the name, they have some heavy but great riffs, but the most prominant feature would have to be the drums and how all the instruments fit perfectly together. Though they do have a lot of screaming :-). Another great band, one of my favourite, is Arch Enemy. Imagine this, get two amazing guitarists and make them BOTH lead. How does that sound?

Micromys minutus - PLEASE explain to me why I should meet the edit button. WHY?

eta - I have heard of both of those bands, but I don't think I've ever heard either of them. Or at least if I have, I didn't know it was them. Regarding the two lead guitar players thing - that's what we do in my band. Not that I'm saying I'm an amazing guitar player...

DO THE STU- ive been leary as well, cause amazon.com and cduniverse list the first song as something like " intro - dr dre remix " or something, i was like "oh no not the stones too" after all the aerosmith - pop - rap bullshit im starting to think the stones have fallen victim to hunger for new commercial suck-sess....i hope not.

Master Yoda - Well, I'd definetely recommend Arch Enemy. They have a unique style and are really quite huge. They have five albums out so if you are thinking about listening to them i would recommend the followming albums: Burning Bridges with original male singer Johan Liiva, or Wages Of Sin debut album with female singer Angela Gossow. They both have a collection of fantastic songs.
