Stu Clone - I don't feel right telling YOU that I can play Stu songs...hehe. But my two favorites to "play" are Kings Of Sleep and Surely The Best...they aren't all that impressive, but oh well.

canchito - Yeah, Joe should have a new album out in a few months.
mikesb - Thanks for posting another interview snippet.
Sharif - You can preorder the CD and DVD from the Sony Music Store. Look through my recent posts to find the links.

Line 6-Bleh-I can get the better Vox Valvetronix for less anyways, but I would prefer a straight ahead amp, I think.Modeling amps are still lacking, cant put my finger on what it is.I tried some marshalls this week, and they all suck ass, at least in combo land.

Thanks, for the recommendation though :D

Well, I actually like the fender and vox modeling amps a lot, and probably will get the Valvetronix, but they arent perfect.I would have to say I like the Valvetronix the best.

Thanks to all who answered my query. I guess i was a bit ambiguos as i was referring to an amp that would help in playing in gigs.
Another thought, who is ethn. I tried looking in the member list and couldn't find it
:-)

How is everyone today? I might be able to get into a band for the first time soon. A friend has a fairly good local band but they have no rhythm guitarist. Might be my chance.

Joe Satriani - You always ask us fans to choose the set list but i'm just curious what yours would be? What would you consider to be your favourite songs and which ones worked out better than planned? It's all very curious.

greg m, mick87 - i didn't know you guys were christians... greg, you know the guys i told you that i knew at york... they're both christians... though i don't know if they got to cu cause it's on saturdays.

There are many people who go to church on Sundays and lead bad lives. Being a christian is fundamentally based in believing in the work Jesus accomplished around 2000 years ago, and a result of that, giving your life over to God.

Helping old ladies across the road is not enough - it's like being asked to jump from London to Capetown but only getting as far as brighton- you may have done a lot, but you're waay short of God's standards.

Hey, everyone, been busy for the last several days taking care of the maintenance of life, so forgive me if I've missed something here... :)

Just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that my new One With The Computer song, Virtualitą, is now up and running on my SoundClick page, so anyone that wants to give it a listen and throw me some feedback on it is welcome to head over there. I have also given Just Another Cool Jam and Techno Logical (Dawg's Theme) a bit of a mixing overhaul to give them a little more punch, so they might be worth giving a listen to, also. I've done some panning changes on the latter...

Virtualitą is a song inspired by a piece of artwork under the same name created by Lorenzo Ravasco. In writing and recording the song Virtualitą, I attempted to capture the mood that the artwork invoked in a musical sense.

Lorenzo Ravasco has a homepage of his own, Unicorn's Universe, where all of his artwork, including Virtualitą, can be viewed. Most of it is of professional quality, and he does a lot of things with 3D graphics that will knock your eyes out. He is aware of what I am doing with my song and has agreed to allow me to use the picture Virtualitą as the basis of my first CD's front cover artwork.

So....happy listening, and hope you all enjoy. More to come, so stay tuned... :)

Joe,

I was wondering if you (by yourself) or with G3 would be coming to either Cincinnati, Cleveland or Dayton Ohio? Please advise.

Thanks,

The Prez I discovered Satch not long after I started playing. I think it was an article or a whole bunch of letters going on about this Satriani bloke who was obviously some kind of guitar god. I was still following Clapton, Moore (his later blues phase) and Blackmore. I thought "I suppose he's worth checking out" and has been my greatest influence since!!! Bought FIABD and sat in my bedroom for the rest of the day listening to it over and over and over!!! Went out and bought the rest of the "back catalogue" a day or so after!!

mikesblove the interview snippets- keep em coming!!

Ethn amps. Well, I've been using a Marshall VS100R, 100w amp since about 1995 which I gigged with for about a year (pub gigs). It still sounds phenomenal, and you can always unplug the speaker and use the line out for recording- instant "Marshall head".You do have to crank them a bit to get the best sound, tho. You could always use a "power brake" which takes the volume out without killing the power and tone. Recently (very!) I bought a Behringer v-amp which is a modelling amp like the line 6 pod. I was a bit suspicious at first, even went to talk to some amp specialists to get some advice- through headphones they sound crap, thin, noisy and buzzy, but through the line-out into my recording set-up (basically PC, amp, monitors) I've been able to get some cracking recording tones out of it (which , when I get my website set up you'll get a chance to hear) and hardly any noise! It's really changed my opinion of them. I'll still use the Marshall live, though, since I cant afford a Soldano SLO on my salary!!! Hope this helps!!

michelle - in my work bag I always carry a small mag-lite.. but then if the light at the end of the tunnel has been cancelled I figure that mine would only be a little tunnel anyhow.. lol..

greg - cool dude.. I don't really worry too much about other folks beliefs either.. not unless it's in a threatening sense...

your cyber-shit.. I went through the same last year.. and it broke my laptop...
I'd been working on a design for hours and hours.. serious diagrams.. it included coding, signalling traces captured from the network.. a whole pile of stuff... it was a masterpiece.. my IBM abacus decided to go into a tail spin and die.. I powered back up.. opened the doc and it was empty appart from the title page.. the reason for this was that someone had turned off auto-save from the design temple doc that originated the design.. so only the 'save as' shit was saved 'cos I did that manually to name the doc... there was only one thing for it.. I punched the laptop in the face and elbowed it in the keyboard.. the sceen broke and I seriously cracked that chassis... lmao..
this proves that violence and technology do not mix.. hoever I felt so good... lol..

ovation - mmmm imagining.... lmao...

Another meaningless question: How many of you could look up at the night sky and clearly identify an object (but not the moon) :-)? Of course there is no point in this question, but i'm a very keen astronomer and I know a lot of people who don't appreciate the beauty of the night sky.
